Ahead of tonight’s batch of nine fixtures, Paddy Power have delivered a tempting “Whacky Acca” offer for new customers. Our bookmaker friends are offering improved accumulator odds of 10/1 on Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea and United all winning their matches against Hull, Norwich, Sunderland and Everton respectively.

When you consider that the regular odds of an accumulator on the four favourites is only 7/2, this is clearly another great deal for those yet to sign up with Paddy. If you don’t have an account and fancy a piece of the action, click here to join up and take advantage of the offer.

To clarify, the “Whacky Acca” enhanced odds specials are limited to a £10 stake, are open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditions specified.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Link? If true, it's good news. No depth of midfielders in the squad and very little creativity. Carroll deserves a spot automatically and the other 3 are up for grabs.

Pointless. They have Fellaini and cleverly - if they bring someone to play the fifty fifty role then bring world class.

surely Cabaye is an upgrade on Cleverley and Anderson and would mean Jones wouldn't have to play in midfield

It's an upgrade but not big, if you already upgrade the central mid position, then really upgrade it.

That really needs a link. If they do then its ok but certainly not what United fans are after really. Moyes should bring out the big guns instead of trying to bring in a mid-end player and try turn them into high end.

Bet365 have given me a £5 free bet, how should I spend it.

    A) Be punty and put on some mad accumulator for a few hundred pound back.

    B) Put it on things that are really likely to happen, like Liverpool and Arsenal, and actually try to make money.

A sure if you put it on a 2/1 shot and you win you have a tenner woo woo.... find something tasty at 20/1+ and give yourself a fun sweat during the games tonight! Picking out a couple of matches to finish 2-1 is always good because it normally means the bet is live after half time.

Brunt as anytime scorer tonight you can get him at 13/2.

Brunt First goal scorer from 16/1 to 22/1.

So he's part of a 2 man midfield with Tiote. That means he's not got the holding role, but at the same time can't bomb forward into the box like Lampard could (or can in a 4-3-3)

If I could get odds I'd lay a bet that if Walcott blanks tonight, someone will come on here and post something like, "you guys are worthless, the consensus here was that Walcott was THE Arsenal player to have so I wasted a transfer bringing him in."

I'd also lay a bet that if Walcott goes crazy, someone else will post something like, "you guys are worthless, the consensus here was it was too soon to transfer in Walcott so I missed out on his haul."

After a lot of learning over the seasons I think my approach to picking defenders is to go by managers more than teams. Compared to attacking, I think defending is more about organization and mentality than individual ability so the organization and mentality a manager brings with them is the key. Crystal Palace are a good example - they were shocking defensively earlier in the year, but just by getting rid of a defensively suspect manager (Holloway) and replacing him with a caretaker, the same bunch of no hopers have conceded 1 in 4 games.

Increasingly I work from a list of managers I trust defensively and move between them as the fixtures turn. My all-time list is:

    Allardyce
Pulis (when Stoke sacked him, that pretty much ended my interest, plus the pricings)
    Hughton
    Bruce
    Pochettino
    AVB
Mancini (gone now of course and complicated by rotation)
    Ferguson (ditto)

There's a couple on the margins that I'm still unsure of. Moyes was pretty dependable at Everton but he's not really settled in at United yet. Laudrup got me a bunch of away clean sheets last year but that was because he was choosing to play unusually negatively. Clarke is decent defensively but doesn't get quite enough cleanies.
