We roll out another instalment of our new weekly article for Members this evening, offering an in-depth statistical analysis of the main captaincy contenders for the Gameweek ahead. Each of the top four supply us with a player apiece this time out as we crunch the numbers to determine whether there really is an alternative to a certain Uruguayan for the armband:
-
When the saints fans are predicting a 4-0 loss at the minimum on their forums you really got to consider Aguero(c).. Gazzaniga has not made a save this season, Clyne got a groin injury and could be out, Wanyama and Schneiderlin out so the City midfield will get a free pass, Shaw wobbling about at the end of the last game and forced to stay on cause all the subs were made.. Oh dear.
Open Controls-
A Nasri punt may not be a bad idea either(though i fear that our nemesis toure is gonna have another one of his good weeks)
Open Controls -
Simply cannot ignore Suarez.
Open Controls-
i guess so.. i am glad to be an aguero owner this week though. a nasri transfer in is temptin but out of my reach
Open Controls -
4-0 loss?! How pessimistic are they?!!?
Open Controls-
Very.. Wanyama and Boruc are crucial to their defense.. Add Clyne And Spiderman to that and they have a league one defense
Open Controls
-
-
This. Aguero is a good option also imo - City will boss the midfield without Wanyama and Schneiderlin. Yaya is the most annoying player in fpl - I'm started to consider him.
Open Controls-
Same here.. wish he was still below 9 million though. way out of reach now
Open Controls
-
-

Are they really? That's ominous. No City attacking cover here.
Time to get my couch prepared.Open Controls-

Watch it get more and more pessimistic nearer kickoff as the wanyama news just broke outOpen Controls-
Jeez! They should try supporting West Ham!
Open Controls
-
-
-
Hmm, that is an interesting point.
Aguero is certainly going to be a minority choice too, a chance to make up some ground there.
If the back 4 is: Chambers, Yoshida, Lovren, Fox
And with only Cork in front of them they could be in trouble. I expect at least some of the doubts to play tbhOpen Controls

This is some serious heat here from Mitch Johnson. 😯

1FT
3.5m in the bank
Migs
Kos/ Chester/ Ward/ A. Williams
Ozil/ Hazard/ Brady
Lukaku/ Aguero/ Suarez
Harper/ JWP/ Morrison/ Clyne
I have used free to take Rooney out
What should I do with the money? Save it? Should I get Ramsey in for Brady? I have enough money for Coutinho as well, but not Gerrard. Any suggestions what to do?
Is Nasri worth having a go against weak Sou defence?Open Controls-
Save when possible.
Open Controls

vorm boruc
GJ coleman shaw collins murner
gerrard walcott ramsey januzaj ravel
aguero suarez lukaku
1FT and .7 in the bank
a) gerrard to haz
b) walcott to haz
c) januzaj to hernandez/de guzman/brunt
d) murner > cpl defender
e) otherOpen Controls -
Open Controls

i'm tempted with a Negredo punt....
Open Controls-
Tough fix though...think he's had his best run already gone by.
Open Controls

-
What do you guys think about the following options
A)moses to shelvey
B)moses to redmond
C)moses to bannan
Which is the best option among theses 3?Open Controls -
Open Controls
-
If you want to double up on Everton defense from GW16 onwards, would you go for:
A) Howard on an FT
B) Jagielka for a hit and bring in a 4m keeper to partner MigsOpen Controls-
I went B) but no hit
Open Controls -
Can you get distin for free? considerin it's a few weeks from Jan WC and Jags main ammunition is baps over distin you'll be fine with distin
Open Controls
-
ENR - why are you so strongly advocating saving FT's this gw?
Open Controls-
having 2 for GW 17-19 will be massive.
Open Controls -
Busy winter period, so always room for surprises. Also GW16/17 - swing in fix.
Open Controls-
Also return of injured players (players with FPL pedigree) to form - Silva, Michu, Walcott (Benteke even?)

Gameweek 15 Preview & Tips
http://elitefpl.blogspot.ca/2013/12/gameweek-15-preview-tips.html

interesting you don't even give aguero consideration at all vs a soton defense that seems to be leaking goals now

Chamakh second in (c) poll 😯

Mignolet (WHU)
Terry (sto), Koscielny (EVE), Coleman (ars), Turner (cry)
Ozil (EVE), Ramsey (EVE), Barkley (ars), Brady (swa)
Aguero (sot), Suarez (WHU)
Lewis (cry), Clyne (MCI), Rooney (SUSPENDED), R Morrison (SUSPENDED)
0.1 in the bank.
Team may not do well this week but surely i need to keep Rooney and R Morrison.
Are there any transfers i should make?Open Controls-
i'd lose brady or rooney
rooney to lukaku sets you up for everton's nice run of fixtures and allows you to upgrade your midfield
if not then i'd probably do brady to hernandez/de guzman/bruntOpen Controls-
This is interesting.
I am reluctant to get rid of Rooney due to Man. United's strong fixtures. That being said, 3.1m saved is a lot.
If i upgraded Brady or Barkley to a big hitter, it would have to be Hazard. He would be the one i want.
However, I am 1.7m SHORT of being able to do Rooney and Barkley/Brady to Lukaku and Hazard.
You have a nice team there by the way.
Walcott to Hazard for you?Open Controls-
pool haven't been keeping cs and their fixtures til the Jan wc are a bit iffy imo (WHU, tot, CAR, mci, che)
perhaps migs to a cheaper gk could free up that extra cash? or is that not enough?
alternatively (though tough cuz he's done well the last two gw's) what about ozil out for say nasri to free up funds? (I'd prefer walcott but hard to to if it's too soon to get him)
cheers mate! i'm unsure.... thing is walcott should get some gametime every game during this busy period and will hopefully be back to starting soon enough. and when he's starting I think he's one of the best fpl mids out there. on the flip side I feel that chelsea mids will have a lot of rotation during the busy period. In addition to this a seemingly out of favor murner and a not nailed on januzaj are a bit bigger concerns to me considering this busy period when you really want all nailed on players if possibleOpen Controls-
Thanks for your feedback. It is greatly appreciated.
I agree with your point with regards to Walcott. I don't know if it would work but i would like to see Ox (when he returns from injury) start and Walcott to play as the lone striker up front in some games. Giroud can have a bit of a rest and it would save Arsenal needing to buy another striker.
They could then go for Suarez in the summer. I don't think Liverpool will sell in January unless they had a replacement lined up. If Arsenal went for Suarez in June, it would give Liverpool plenty of time. The trouble in January is that they would have three-four weeks maximum.Open Controls
-
-
also I agree it's hard to not have rooney with their strong fixtures BUT everton also have strong fixtures and lukaku is always a threat as well

TW whats your plan for Wally?
Forca has shifted him for Gerrard i guess. I am thinking of keeping him till Silva returns.Open Controls-
I already have gerrard (and 3 pool total) so that rules out coutinho
I think i'm either going to keep (because once he's back to starting, he's one of the best fpl mids in my opinion) or ship for haz. right now I think I might keep and then shift gerrard to haz in a week or twoOpen Controls -
Glad I'm not the only one to buy Wally too soon.
I was planning to keep him as I'll want him when he does finally start and the next three FT are lined up on the defence.
If Silva comes back before Wally that would make me switch but otherwise it's an 8 point hit.Open Controls

this is the week to captain Aguero...everyone is gonna be on Suarez, time to jump rank
😎Open Controls-
I'm extremely tempted. If Reid were playing I wouldn't even think about it but he's not, and West Ham are crap w/o him.
Open Controls-
but Jaask is still a great keeper....Gazazazazazniga?...not so much
Open Controls
-
-
i'm going aguero too most probably.. can see city smashing southampton. Jaaskelainen could have a match winning possible.. Gazzaniga is letting every shot go past him so far

Just did an analysis on Baps for Jagielka and Distin and Everton in general
1. Everton Drew a game 0 - 0
Happened 4 times ...
Jags 10 bonus points and 37 bps
Distin 3 bonus points but 34 bps.. missed more baps by a nose hair
2. Everton won a game 1-0
Happened 2 times...
Jagielka 5 bonus points and 20 bps
Distin 2 bonus points and 16 bps
For every other possible result Both Jagielka and Distin did NOT get any bonus points with the bonus going the attackers or the opposition depending on the result(Jags got 2 bonus for an assist but both have a similar negligible goal threat overall).
Considerin the difference in price is 0.7 at the moment and nearly a million by the time we want them for next GW i'd say Distin is the better option easily BEARING in mind the price difference. Can see Everton scoring 2+ goals in most of the games in the run they have from GW 16 to Jan WC and even if they dont Distin is always just one tackle/interception away from stealing baps from Jagielka.
Choose to ignore/use this information as you see fit. Cheers.. Coleman is an altogether different beast considerin attackin returnsOpen Controls-
But there's obviously a reason Jags is regularly getting baps and Distin isn't. I don't think it can be ignored.
Open Controls-
it's only in 0-0's and 1-0's though.. considerin it's a short term punt for 5 gameweeks for most people the odds of many of those happening is low(just 6 in 14 games and vs tough opposition mostly). anything more than 1-0 and they dont get baps.. if the opposition scores neither gets baps
Open Controls-
and even in the 0-0's and 1-0's Jags got an average of 1 bps more than Distin only.. The bonus points are seperated by one interception/tackle. i'd rather save the extra mate an gamble on Distin/Jags scoring similar till mid jan
Open Controls -
But those 0-0s and 1-0s are quite likely in games where they're keeping CSs.
Open Controls-
i'm just playing the odds mate.. Everton are playin FUL swa SUN SOT stk NOR
Can see them winning those by more than 1 goal.. the likelihood of a 0-0 happening is one of the lowest odds while betting(yup i gamble)..Open Controls
-
-
-
Over the season.. yup.. Jags will outscore him. over 5 GWs.. meh. would rather pocket the difference. All transfers and analysis being made with the Jan WC in mind
Open Controls-
Excellent point, mister. I agree with you.
I am totally hung up on cheap defs though (Coleman, Rat, Williams, Burner, Clark).Open Controls-
Thanks mate.. wish i'd hung on to coleman myself.. got rid of him @5.6 weeks ago for Clyne when he's fixtures "turned" 🙁
Open Controls-
Yeah. I'm glad I kept him. Looks likely to be the only season keeper for me. 5.0, a guaranteed starter, good defensive team, top six contender, great attacking threat. I consider him a bargain.

Thanks mate... Would you recommend a second Everton defender over Terry or Kosc

Is there any chance we get Suarez in Jan? Break the bank Wenger.
Open Controls-
0%
Open Controls -
How much is he willing to offer?
If the asking price was £55m in the summer its just gone up again
And judging by Wenger's quotes he is 'very happy' with the strikers he has for some reason 😛
If Arsenal did sign Suarez in Jan they would be strong title favourites, but I don't think it'll happenOpen Controls -
Got a spare £80m?

Who would you bench this week out of:
A) Brunt (NOR)
B) Remy (mun)
C) Redmond (wba)
I guess C is the obvious choice?Open Controls-
Yeah, Redmond.

Good Day Gents!
Pick one to start.. JWP vs ManCity(H) or Chester vs Swansea(A)?
Thanks!Open Controls -
Hmm, as the morning arrives from this all nighter and i've done depressingly little work it becomes time to come back to fantasy football as always.
Oscar to Haz done last night, now to debate my other transfer - getting rid of Januzaj, Sess, Clyne or WalkerOpen Controls -
@ENR - gw 16/17 swing in fixtures...
