We roll out another instalment of our new weekly article for Members this evening, offering an in-depth statistical analysis of the main captaincy contenders for the Gameweek ahead. Each of the top four supply us with a player apiece this time out as we crunch the numbers to determine whether there really is an alternative to a certain Uruguayan for the armband:
-
Rooney to Lukaku
Nasri to Hazard
For a hit and start??
Or wait for next week then transfer...Open Controls-
-
This.

Southampton are in disarray at the back - keep Nasri imo. Rooney is on startling form with great fixtures. I want Lukaku but getting rid of Rooney a false economy imo especially as Lukaku has such a tough fixture this GW.
Open Controls-
thanks gents.
agree patience is the right move.Open Controls

Already have Coleman+Jagielka
Howard+Bannan
OR
Oviedo+Marshal(Rotate with McGregor)Open Controls -
With the fat baldy guy suspended, RVP will be injected with pain killers & forced to play.
Open Controls-
could actually be an exceptional differential this week!
Open Controls-
20% ownership, but I know what you mean.
Open Controls

What's the point of having players the quality of Hernandez if you never play them properly?
Open Controls -
Don't think so Teddy, Chicarito on the otherhand 😉
Open Controls
-
Who best to swap Rosenior for ? Already have one Palace def (Gabbidon) ...
Open Controls -
Where did it go wrong?
Some of us aren't pleased with our FPL season so far, but why is that? What's your reasons?
I'll list mine.
1) Picking the wrong team from the start. The likes of Hazard, Coutinho, Walcott, Mirallas, Lambert, Dzeko, Lukaku didn't do any good early on.
Szczesny+Toure instead of Mignolet+Coleman instantly backfired in GW1.
2) Not getting on the early bandwagons. Coleman, Ramsey, Yaya, Lovren, Sturridge, Giroud.
3) Getting on bandwagons too late. Ramsey 1.5£ too late, Hazard 0.6£ too late (6GW ago he was 9.0!)
4) Played the WC a little bit too late. Season is long but WC goes a long way in straightening things up.
5) Spending transfers on not nailed on players. Like K. Toure & Faye.
6) Just picking the likes of Gazzaniga, McAuley & Chico ahead of players like Marshall, Mertesacker & Distin. Just crap decision making.
January WC can't come soon enough 🙂Open Controls-
1. Same here. Cech , Toure & Lescott instead of Migs, Ivan & Coleman killed me.
2. Definitely. All the players you mentioned except for Studge (my G1 captain).
3. Same here.
4. I picked wrong players for my GW6 WC. Migs, Michu instead of Yaya... the list goes on.
5. Used to have Kolo. Still stucked with Faye (and i actually benched him while he had that 2 Cleanies 🙁 )
6. I just picked Gazza. You made me feel worse 🙁Open Controls-
5 > We both have Faye, oh the joy 😉 Brought him in instead of Rosenior, Faye not even on the bench while Hull kept a cleanie. Week after I brought Toure in and he didn't play while Pool got a (rare) cleanie. LOL at that!
6 > Sry about that!Open Controls

I had similar issues, especially 1. Fortunately got 2 right and the one thing I really got right was my wildcard, but still a long way to go
Open Controls -
- i had 8 C fails in first 9gws
-didnt get Suarez in right time
-Silva got injured twice just after i got him in
-walcott....no comment
-series of randomly injurees and Vorm silly red card
-refusing to get Ramsey in whole season
-i can say so manny other stuff wich happen to me every single gw
i seriously can't belive that i am in top 100k , should be way out from top 1MOpen Controls-
Got to hurt man. Well played anyway!

It appears YAYA is second choice pen taker? Milner and Dzeko were on the pitch when he took it. Probably ahead of Silva too? Fair share of freekicks. Looking essential for my WC...
Open Controls -
Save FT and
A) Play Shaw
B) Play Coleman
(the other will be my only sub with Rooney and Morrison benched)
OR
C) Burner in for ShawOpen Controls -
A) Ivanovic to terry
B) Ivanovic to Zabaleta
C) Sessagnon to 7.0 mid
D) any other changes?
Mignolet Price
Ivanovic Chester Coleman Chico Burner
Ozil Ramsey Sessangnon Brady Morrison
Aguero Lukaku Suarez
0.4 in the bank 1FTOpen Controls-
Personally I think you're set. City are not impregnable away from home and Ivan to Terry doesn't seem worth it.
I've got Sess and am holding, if he starts could be a bonanza v Norwich and you've got a bench to cover if he doesn't.
Hold the FT.Open Controls-
How about Brady? Seems to be popular to ship at the minute and his forms not great
Open Controls
-
-
Hold Ivanovic, hold sessangon, trade morrisson
Open Controls-
Why Morrison? He's in decent form, just in basis of him missing this week?
Open Controls-
Might be benched as Big Fat Sam wants to punish him? 😀
Hard fixtures after SUN also..Open Controls-
Agreed, but problem is that the options are limited.
Can only afford 5.1 so looking at:
Whittingham
Barkley
Amalfitano (already got sess)Open Controls-
None of which really take my fsncy
Open Controls-
Brunt?
Then get rid of Sess next week if he disappoints you this gw.Open Controls-
I don't mind him as a player but feels overkill to have WBA in my team even if it is a for a short time. If I got a couple of injuries suspension over next 2 weeks I still have both which is far from ideal
Open Controls
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
-
who's playing Brady? Is he a busted flush?
Open Controls-
I don't have many options so it's him vs chester, swansea like they odd nil all draw, however he is always a chance for a pen or an assist from a free kick
Open Controls -
unfortunately I have to and its an ok fixture. hope for a pen..
Open Controls
-
my favorite fpl players Silva and Walcott are constantly Injureed/not player
can't wait both of them to be fit and starting games , maybe i will move up in rank thenOpen Controls-
Forca, I am so tempted to C Gerrard this week. Have the armband on him at the moment.
Thoughts?Open Controls-
dont , Suarez is safe
having say this i would love Gerrard to goes crazy since i get him in 😀Open Controls
-
-
Agree forca-Wally was brillant for me captained him both times last year when he scored hatricks/doubles
Silva is my Yaya alternative-just hoping he is back soonishOpen Controls
-
-
-
-
^this, I am having such a bad season I might yolo captain him
Open Controls
-
-
Assume Rosenoir now out of the starting XI?
Ros -> Ward (-4) and start him over R.Bennett?Open Controls-
Be wary of the palace defense, not as reliable as it seems-have come across-hammers who can't score, don't have striker
Hull-were going through injury crisisOpen Controls
-
Which is the best one keeping in mind Xmas fixtures
A) Michu
B) Miralles
C) Lampard
D) PaulihnoOpen Controls-
A & D most nailed on, but Swans fixtures aren't great and Michu's form is unknown, so I would discount him which is a shame, unless you want to take an almighty risk on him.
Personally I have gone for Lamps (last week). Yes he will miss the odd game, but when he does play it looks like he will be back in the points now that Mourinho has gone back to his older style of play.Open Controls-
Ive Had Lampard for a while and the only thing he did for me was drop in price ........ A case of Once bitten ... Twice shy for me
Open Controls-
I also owned him earlier this season for the bad run, so I understand the doubts.
I gave him another shot and he repaid me immediately vs. Sunderland.Open Controls
-
-
-
Paulinho is a massive no
Mirallas No
Lampard- if you can hold rotation and a wide range of scores i.e. 1,2,1,15,3,9Open Controls -
A - Not fit yet.
B - Rotation risk.
C - Rotation risk.
D - Can't shoot.
A, C, B, D - In that order.Open Controls-
Succinct, precise and to the point!
I would agree with this, but picked Lamps over Michu due to the fixture list.Open Controls

Don't people realise that their transfers are reducing the chances of my dream -8 hit next week by making it unaffordable?
Another 0.3 swing against me and I'm in trouble.
Selfish barstewards.Open Controls-
Yes, this annoys me
I hate taking hits but so is watching players increasing in value
I know it's all about points, but you can't get them if the players are too expensiveOpen Controls-
I'm seriously considering this next week:
Migs ---> Howard
Ravel ---> Hazard
Aguero ---> Lukaku
Whittingham ---> Bannan/Oviedo/Other cheapie
Would be for -8, and I'm 0.3 m in credit on it at the moment. Rises/Falls will affect that though.....so if I do decide to do it, it might have to be a Saturday nighter!Open Controls-
aguero>lukaku?think again imo
Open Controls-
Have you seen the next month of fixtures? I would back Lukaku to outscore Aguero over that period AND be more nailed on over Xmas........Aguero will sit out at least one of those games.
Aguero can always come back in the Jan WC.Open Controls
-
-
I like he first two but not Aguero or Whits
I'm also looking at -8 hit and sorting out my entire mid
All I know is that I want silvaOpen Controls-
Hazard is impossible for me to reach without losing Aguero, and when I look at the comparison:
Aguero & RavMO vs. Lukaku & Hazard it seem more than obvious what the better pairing is.Open Controls

Sorry, I had to move or my own plans would be down the toilet.

Team news says Shelvey will start up front. If Bony and/or Michu doesn't get fit in time, he should be a good option right? I know that Swansea have EL coming up against St Gallen, but they should go through from the group stage easy. If Valencia loose home to Kuban Krasnodar and Swansea loose away to St Gallen with a 3 goal margin they're out, I don't think that'll happen. I can see some rotation in this game, and Shelvey should play the Hull game.
Open Controls-
Not so sure about this^ Michu might play 50 minutes, vasquez could start upfront also, could bode well for a hull cleanie
Open Controls-
Yeah, this could def. happen. But Shelvey is in form, 2 goals, 1 assist and 3 baps in the last three games. Massive let down for Laudrup if they don't win this game.
Open Controls

Can't wait for the MOTD lads to start claiming he's playing the false nine position
Open Controls

Rooney to Lukaku will be one of those transfers Im gonna look back at and realise it was so obvious. I just cant foresee the best way forward at the moment though. Its a big decision as the Lukaku route will have quite a change on the rest of my team over the coming weeks with the 3 million to spend elsewhere. Im 50 points behind in my mini league he has Rooney and will probably keep him. Its real make or break decision. Driving me mad this one!
Open Controls-
sell him if your league leader has him
Open Controls-
do it.
like i keep saying:
lukaku and ozil/hazard is a better combo than a rooney/sessOpen Controls-
Its killing me!! Thing is I have Hazard and Ozils fixtures are crap so I wouldnt spend the 3 million somewhere productive enough to justify it. I have 2 million in bank now to do something with my defence.
Open Controls-
think long term though dago. i aint talking about here or now.
all im saying is over a 6-8wk period i can see lukaku and a big hitting midfielder outscoring rooney and sessOpen Controls-
I think Im gonna join you mate Im just trying to work out which midfielders gonna make up the points difference over christmas.
Open Controls
-
-
-
-
-
go with lukaku
Open Controls -
i bought Rooney last week (chose him over Lukaku). Admittedly it was a bad start (!), but i think for UTD's next 6 fixtures and a busy Xmas season where you might just need more than one captain option he's going to be great.
Open Controls -
I have Saurez/Rooney/Lukaku, decided that SAR had too much money tied up, and quite happy with Yayay for City cover at present. Also as I got Lukaku early at 7.4 it's difficult to swap him out for similar value in midfield.
Working towards...
Cabaye/Paulinho? Hazard Yaya Ramsey
Rooney Saurez Lukaku
Nice spread of top teams covered, with JWP/Brady on the bench.Open Controls
-
-
Play Coleman or Brady?
Open Controls -
best defender to get for clyne, budget 6.5, already have terry and coleman. what you think guys?
Open Controls-
-
you think he's worth 6.3?maybe evans?
Open Controls-
I'm thinking about Evans
Open Controls -
Open Controls
-
fail
Open Controls
-
-
-
Not sure about Evra till united show some defensive resilence- if I was to get a united defender it would be johnny evans. For 6.5 and under I like Chiriches/McCauley
Open Controls
-
-
Evans & save the surplus?
Open Controls-
don't know if good idea getting evans in december but evra is a little too much i think.
Open Controls
-
-
-
Do we think Evans will be back in the starting 11 this GW?
At that price any better pick?Open Controls -
SOU have conceded 8 in their last 3. Switch made #yolo
Open Controls-
Aguero? Nasri? City Goals?
Open Controls
-
-
Not much talk about Pozeulo - worth bringing in for Morrison/Brady etc.
Open Controls-
Nah-I rate shelvey he gets lots of shots and gets into good positions, plays a similair role to ramsey without getting the amazing delivery from ozil/flamini offcourse.
If you want consistency De Guzman's set piece ability should provide points-Bony is also out so he will be on pens definitelyOpen Controls-
That makes sense but they are 1.5 and 1.2m more expensive than Pozuelo - not really the same market. 4.2 for a 5th midfielder against e.g. Bannan, Morrison etc doesn't seem terrible but I guess you want your 5th mid to be secure.
Open Controls

not doing ozil to hazard this week has cost me 0.2m already and another 0.1m tonight. hope ozil repays me on sunday
Open Controls-
-
He will.
Open Controls

Migs (4.0)
Ward, Coleman, Mert Vlaar (Chester)
Yaya , Hazard, Ramsey, Amalfitano (RMorrison)
Suarez(c), Aguero(v), (Rooney)
Good to go? Play chester over Coleman? Might be decided for me if Vlaar doesn't start anyway.Open Controls-
Play chester over coleman, look to move on Ravel-hammers don't have goals in them, perhaps shelvey is a good replacement
