The Gameweek continues with a pair of Sunday afternoon kick-offs, beginning with Fulham’s clash with Villa at the Cottage, in just a few minutes. Following on from that, two form sides clash at the Emirates as leaders Arsenal look for their seventh home victory of the season against an Everton outfit fresh from their midweek win at Old Trafford.

While those two teams are looking to extend a superb spell of results, Rene Meulensteen’s Fulham are desperately seeking to end a run of six consecutive defeats against Paul Lambert’s inconsistent Villa: they will arrive in West London unbeaten in their last four road trips in the league and boosted by the midweek win at St Mary’s.

Look to our Twitter feed for the latest news on today’s teamsheets as it breaks, while our Dugout Discussion chatroom is now open and will remain so throughout today’s matches, up until the final whistle at the Emirates.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Ozil + Lukaku previous 2 weeks

    22 + 10 = 33 pts

Sold them for Rooney and Gerrard (suspension and injury)

    4 + 4 + 1 = 9pts

That hurts really. I think I've pulled a Mark 🙁

Sensible advice. Short term I agree, long term should work out. I am constantly having to make a conscious effort not to knee jerk hits this year, and it's bloody hard!

Swansea have Norwich away next, Everton have Fulham at home and Newcastle host Southampton. Obviously it would be annoying if Everton/Newcastle get a clean sheet and Chico only gets a couple of points, but that hit would still only see you break even. Then, if you think it's the better long-term move, you can just grab an Everton defender for free the following week!

    a) Silva
    b) Yaya Toure

There has been a lot of phrases created on this site which are pretty good, like 'nailed on', 'explosive', 'sideways move' etc., but the one I really don't like is 'I'll take it', which effective means 'I'll rub your nose in it'.

Anyway it's suppose to all even out eventually.

Arsenal's schedule is interesting, they've only played two of the "top teams" (though that's very questionable) winning against Liverpool at home and losing to United away. They now have Napoli away, City away, Chelsea at home, then their fixtures ease up, then they have Liverpool, United, then the fixtures ease up, then they have Spurs, Chelsea, City, Everton...

their difficult matches come in bunches is my point, not sure how relevant that is, but I found it interesting. Will the Gunners come through this difficult patch still on top?

my point was that it's a bit easier to be so consistent when you are playing Sunderland, Stoke, Swansea, West Brom, Norwich, Crystal Palace, etc.. they've really had kind of a cake schedule til now

An injury to their lone forward, and it would immediately go downhill from there. Arsenal have been plagued with injuries in the previous years, and despite good starts, ultimately succumb and end up fighting for a CL place.

This year seems quite different. They still don't have the strength in depth, but they are playing really well, and have escaped major injuries. (this is buoyed by the fact that other top teams are just not consistent - City, Chelsea, United)

Hell, Tottenham should be nowhere near 6th place, as they have been terrible most of the season. You just gotta pause for a second and evaluate the situation, Arsenal at the top, Liverpool 2nd, It's December...This can't be happening. But it is, but it is!!!

    Intent

If a players actions cause a goal via a deliberate touch, or a saved shot then an assist can stand

If it is purely an accidental glance of a shin or an arse then it should be NO assist

Also anyone assisting via back pass (Pieters) or sideways midfield pass for a wonder goal then to be scored (Gerrard) last GW deserves nothing too

Even for next season you'd end up with far more arguments about intent than you have now about significant deflections. And if we're on the subject of intent, why allow goals if these are unintended.

I've been mulling over doing Rooney to Lukaku, because of the Everton man's favourable upcoming fixtures, and because United are struggling. The additional funds would allow me to improve elsewhere too. With this in mind, would you keep Rooney over Lukaku or would you do these transfers? Not all at once. And who would you get for Terry, since Chelsea are struggling to keep a clean sheet?

    Rooney > Lukaku
    Brunt > Cabaye
    Clyne > Jagielka
Terry > Any defender, 6.5 or under

That one should have been given in my opinion too.

And with the risk of sounding like the most terribly broken record of all time, the one Suarez got for the Amorebieta own goal against Fulham was complete nonsense too. 100% a Gerrard assist.

So with no news back on the Gerrard front of any kind other than "we have to assess" I guess I'll just take it as bad news.

Any City know Silva's timeline? Ideally would want to bring him back once he's starting and I imagine he'll be eased in.

Yaya is probably the best short-term replacement as even Walcott is still being eased in..

interesting..well if Silva is on the cusp of dropping then I can wait, especially as at the moment, Gerrard is in no danger of dropping

    Pantilimon
    Terry, Coleman, Burner
    Ozil, Gerrard, Ramsey, Ravel
    Aguero, Suarez, Lukaku

    (Davis, Williams, Bannan, Flanagan)

    1FT, £0.8m in the bank.

Save FT or do Gerrard -> Hazard? (Got just the right amount of cash to do the move)

Barring an injury Vorm will start...
