Yes, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, which normally finds us two unwise men camped in the studio clutching presents and forlorn hopes of a festive points bonanza. This year, Granville and I appear sans gifts but with familiar Fantasy aspirations ahead of the punishing holiday schedule.

My Christmas spirit is at least buoyed by the fact that I’ve wiped the indignity of a three-figure mini-league gap between myself and my co-host, although Granville still seems to be in pipe and slippers mode. He’s all set to camp himself in front of the Two Ronnies repeats, safe in the knowledge that he’s got this season wrapped up. I just wonder.

Granville battles complacency to join me while we sift through the ScoutCast regulars and find time to pray at the altar of Luis Suarez. The most effective Fantasy Footballer ever? Much it pains some to admit it, the case for the defence is looking flimsy.

Unwrap this aural gift via this link, or sample our yuletide yodeling via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Let's have a 'worst transfers of the GW' competition.

    I'll go first. I did:

    Aguero to Rooney (who proceded to get injured)

    + Brady to Ireland (-4)

    Anyone able to match that?

        The problem is, and always will be, its not a forum.

        Its an internet shouting board, with a terrible case of amnesia. Discussions get going then...bang, new page, same discussions happen again, interesting topics are cut dead.

        If Mark and co could get their arses in gear they would have a truly great site, and one that might save them some bandwidth in endlessly repeated posts.

    I don't really get the problem with reporting someone who has 2 teams (especially somebody who irritates you by flouncing it and bragging about how well they have done whilst taking the best elements of both teams).

    As Grubby said on the previous page if you take it seriously it skews ranks. If I had 100 teams the odds are 1 would probably make the top 1,000 (is that a true reflection? I think not). In fact one of the players leading FPL was found to have multiple teams and was booted out.

    As for having nothing better to do (I have spent longer writing this post than the complaint email - which took 2 minutes - I will leave it up to you to decide if either were a constructive way to spend time). It is not something I would be likely to repeat but it has made things fairer by reporting the rules.

    So to get abuse for reporting somebody for having an illegal unfair advantage seems unfair. But hey...I'll live!

    Also, I don't think I am alone in the view that everyone should have 1 team.

      I indirectly got the guy top of the FFS league banned and it amused me slightly.

      Don't Mark & Granville have a second team? Someone report them.

                I don't see anything wrong in a joint team such as the scoutcast team. If yourself and Granville each owned multiple teams I think it would take a lot of fun out of the rivalry.

                Even though it's strictly speaking against the rules, you would hope a bit of common sense would be used seeing as what the team is actually for. But then I guess they could argue that it has to be the same rule for all regardless.

      agree with this, let's say you finished 2nd in fpl and the winner had 3 teams, there's a good chance you would have won if they only had 1 team.
      my own confession, after a request i help manage a 2nd team this season. i initially refused as i thought having more than one team would just be distracting and impact negatively on both, or at least the team i really care about, the main one. in the end the compromise was agree to pick the players for the other team but make them identical to my actual team, so it's not distracting. annoyingly that team is about 30 points better off than my team due to superior bench choices by the actual manager

        Exactly. I think there is a difference between a joint team and having multiple teams which you control alone. If people start having multiple teams it defeats the whole point of FPL which is picking individual against individual. I think FPL would be far worse if everyone were allowed multiple teams. The skill element would be lost and the luck element would enter. Currently if you make a few huge transfer errors you have to live with it (like Mark is suffering with). If you had multiple teams you could then scrap that team and concentrate on one of the other teams. If that is the case then rule me out!

        I definitely agree with this. Until this season my fantasy football was limited to playing the Telegraph version - lured by the weekly, monthly cash prizes etc - but the game has become totally ruined by people having multiple teams. Some people have 20 teams or more and the only difference between the teams can be one or two players making it very difficult to do well unless you don't have a life and can invest the time in doing the same.

        The FPL version is a superior game in many ways and one of them is only having one team per person

      Janu being a good idea has come and gone in waves. Right now, he looks to be tucking in field and even playing as a number 10 at times. If Rooney is out, he could be worth a punt but, alas, I doub't we'll know for sure.

      Sterling has definitely taken his chance but will likely see rotation over Xmas I reckon - Victor must get a game again at some point.

      Yeah, they're getting in early with the story I guess. The problem we've got, Moyes can say one thing and another materialises. Last weekend press reporting Evra was out and he played. Even if we hear something very negative from Moyes, we can't rule out a recovery. Hoping for clarity but I doubt we'll get it.

      So if you finish 2nd in the world and the player who finishes top has multiple teams. Is it pathetic to report him or would you take it on the chin?

        I wouldn't be sad enough to find out he has a second team in the first place.
        But yeah, I doubt I'd do much about it. Somebody having 2 teams doesn't really bother me.

      Yaya Hazard Ramsey Whittingham Ravel
      Suarez Rooney Remy

        Looks good to me although Terry must be on thin ice I guess and you've no Everton cover for their strong fixtures.

          Thanks, my thoughts too but with the Aguero injury I had to use the transfer up. Otherwise, I would have taken Terry or Remy out for an Everton player.

      Usuelle hate hits for defenders but is Zab>evans worth a hit to free up some cash? I think it could work out over the next weeks. Would have to play chester otherwise...

      ok.. Lets predict Rooney's involvement against West Ham:

      a) Will start the match
      b) on the bench and may come on when things dont go United's way
      c) wont even make the bench

      Tranfers DONE. Taken a -8hit, couldnt stress about it any longer.

      Aguero ---> Negredo
      Lampard ---> Hazard
      Cahill ----> Flanagan

      With 2 injured defenders and 2 CHE players who may not start/have bad games, the hit was needed
