Yes, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, which normally finds us two unwise men camped in the studio clutching presents and forlorn hopes of a festive points bonanza. This year, Granville and I appear sans gifts but with familiar Fantasy aspirations ahead of the punishing holiday schedule.

My Christmas spirit is at least buoyed by the fact that I’ve wiped the indignity of a three-figure mini-league gap between myself and my co-host, although Granville still seems to be in pipe and slippers mode. He’s all set to camp himself in front of the Two Ronnies repeats, safe in the knowledge that he’s got this season wrapped up. I just wonder.

Granville battles complacency to join me while we sift through the ScoutCast regulars and find time to pray at the altar of Luis Suarez. The most effective Fantasy Footballer ever? Much it pains some to admit it, the case for the defence is looking flimsy.

Unwrap this aural gift via this link, or sample our yuletide yodeling via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    so for a price change to happen, a player has to have 100% of his transfers in/out (with the max for those transfers in set at about 35k for players well over that mark?)

      A price change is to be expected at about 0140 GMT when a player's Progress estimate on totalFPL is greater than 100%.

      The numbers of net transfers required to reach 100% gradually vary during the season; totalFPL make regular adjustments to these numbers in order to keep them in line with the most recent rises and falls.

      Currently, the number of net transfers in required for a player to rise if he is green flagged and not under protection appears to be between 33k and 37k (probably depending on whether he has high or low ownership), but the number required for a fall is a percentage of the player's total ownership.

      It gets very complicated, so the best thing is to ignore the number of transfers and just look at the Progress and Change Today percentages.

      If the press conference leaves the ambiguity of his injury in place then I will most likely just bench him. Not prepared to get him out only if he is out for more than one week, which is doubtful!

    Why do you guys trust something more if Daily Mail/Telegraph/Guardian write an online article on an injury which includes no quotes/sources?

    The article is written by people like you and I, they have the same information available to them (if no source/quote is given).

    All they do is, fluff it up by putting in some fancy words, and reiterating crap that doesn't matter to make the story worth posting, add 2/3 pictures, and add a dramatic headline.

    Why is the headline dramatic? E.g 'Rooney out for West Ham game!' - because it gets readers - the story must then back it up (probably 1/2 lines), whereas the other 8 paragraphs will just be supporting information.

    And... Can you help me? Work xmas party tomorrow - so, i'll be absolutely turtled at 2pm, shall i take a hit for Rooney --> Negredo, or play Rmo - if Rooney is confirmed out?

      I'd prefer Bardsley to Brown though. Although he was dropped last game, so maybe Brown is a better call. I'd be wary of the OG threat.

      The Rooney doubt makes it a much easier choice for anyone who was wondering whether to replace Aguero by Rooney or Negredo.

      ... now 98.7%, so it should be a very close thing as to whether he increases this morning or tomorrow..

      Moved approx 1% in the last half hour, so will be really tight. How precise is TotalFPL in general? +/- 1%? I've never needed to cut it so fine...

    How is she?

    Mignolet;
    Distin, Gabbidon, Rosenior;
    Özil, Hazard, Silva, Morrison;
    Suárez(c), Rooney, Lukaku.

    Rudd; Whittingham, B.Turner, Koscielny.

    -4; £0.1m ITB.

    Tempted to do Koscielny to J.Evans for another hit, thoughts? πŸ˜•

      I gues what you have to think is if Jevans gets a clean sheet you are in the same position with a hit as if you hadn't bothered and if he doesn't you are worse off.

          2 away games in next 3 (although relatively easy) still wouldn't bother

      Just do Aguero to Negredo and Lallana to Walcott.

      You got Nasri. I'd rather lose him to Silva later on rather than Oscar since you don't have Azza

    I really want to (c) Negredo instead of Suarez to try and catch people in my league but fear it could be suicide 😐

      I think the next 2 weeks are where you gamble, where he has the tough fixtures, this week captaining him is the smart move, if in some ways only a defensive one for your minileague. But sometimes it is better not to overthink things as Suarez is the best option by far of any option available

      Keep Terry, the main reason I have is for his threat from corners and Chelsea get their fair share of corners. They will start keeping clean sheets too and he's ranked 4th best defender at the minute.

        the first thing a def should get is cleanies....anythin else is a bonus and not to be relied upon...Jts had 1cs in the last 10 matches..... thats appalin considerin hes 6.6m .... he got 1 goal in that period, which hardly makes it worth it, when you could have had someone cheaper with more pts in that time
