Wayne Rooney is struggling to be fit for United’s home game with West Ham. Jack Wilshere is handed a two-match ban by the FA. Robert Snodgrass and Ricky Van Wolfswinkel are named in the Norwich squad. Ben Foster is available for West Brom, James Tomkins is back for West Ham, whilst Nathaniel Clyne has returned to training for Southampton:

Reports suggest Wayne Rooney is losing his battle to be fit for the visit of West Ham. The United forward remains a real doubt after missing out in the midweek cup win over Stoke – the Telegraph reckon he may not even be amongst the subs to face Sam Allardyce’s side. Elsewhere, Nemanja Vidic is ready to return after missing the last two games with a minor injury.

James Tomkins has returned to the Hammers squad after missing the midweek cup win at Spurs with an ongoing groin problem, though Sam Allardyce has hinted he’s set to rotate over the busy next few matches.

Ben Foster is back in contention for West Brom’s home game against Hull. Caretaker boss Keith Downing has revealed he has a fully fit squad to choose from, with Nicolas Anelka and Victor Anichebe both available after missing out against Cardiff.

Jack Wilshere has been slapped with a two-match ban for a gesture towards the City fans in last weekend’s defeat at the Etihad. The midfielder misses Arsenal’s upcoming games against Chelsea and West Ham.

Chris Hughton has confirmed Robert Snodgrass and Ricky Van Wolfswinkel will return to the Norwich squad after weeks out with knee and toe injuries respectively. Both players are in contention to start against Sunderland – the Dutchman was ”touch and go” for last week’s trip to Swansea, while the Scot has trained all week.

Sunderland have been boosted by the return of Steven Fletcher and Jack Colback for the home game with Norwich. Both players missed the midweek cup victory over Chelsea with illness but are back in training – Kieran Westwood and Carlos Cuellar remain sidelined for the Black Cats, though.

Gerhard Tremmel is set to start between the sticks for Swansea’s game with Everton, with Michel Vorm sidelined due to knee surgery. Chico Flores is available after serving a one-match ban and recovering from a knee problem, while Leon Britton has recovered from a toe problem.

Villa skipper Ron Vlaar is still struggling to overcome a calf problem, Paul Lambert conceded yesterday. Chris Herd is set to return to the Villa squad, though, as they make their way to the Britannia.

Mauricio Pochettino is optimistic of a return to action for Nathaniel Clyne against Spurs this weekend. Earlier this morning, the Southampton boss revealed the defender is back in training and will be assessed prior to Sunday’s clash at St Mary’s.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter stream for breaking news as Friday’s press conferences unfold.

    Rooney owners;

Just play him in your team.

If he doesnt play, your first sub will come on for him. Simple.

If he really is injured at all, it is only a minor injury & he'd be back on Boxing Day.

Stop making a fuss out of nothing to make your life seem more dramatic.

    End of. Nuff said!

    Hi Guys,

    Would appreciate some comments please:

    Howard
    Vidic - Cahill - Chester
    Hazard - Lampard - Whittingham - Amalfitano
    Suarez (C) - Rooney - Berbatov

    Daniels - Ravel - Burner - Kosc

No FT, but 4.9m in the bank.

I could potentially have problems in defence if Vidic and Cahill don't play (distinct possibility), but can't see a hit being justified there.

However, Ravel ---> Walcott/Silva for -4 is tempting me.

    Any thoughts?

      no,
make couple of subs at most.

Not really, just accepting enormous risk. There's a big reward if he blanks and your alternative captain scores highly. There's a big reward if you pick the right number in roulette too.

At the moment the wheel is marked Suarez in 1-36 and Other in 0.

Having a small panic here. I have already done a -4 to bring in yaya and lukaku (for aguero and lallana). I should have kept the latter and taken out Lampard.
I now have doubts over Rooney, Evans and without them can only piece together a starting XI:

    Migs

    GJ, Disitin, Walker, Baker

    Ramsey, Yaya, Cabaye Whittingham

    Suarez Lukaku

Bench: Evans, Rooney, Lamps (if not playing)

Is it worth a further -4 or should i just stick for this week

Tagets would be Nasri and Coutinho. Nasri is much less consistent than Silva over a 10 GW period.

I think you're good for this GW. I'd keep 2 FT would then do Silva instead of Nasri and I would keep an eye on Tottenham line up to see who will be the strong man of the Spurs n the coming weeks.

    Why is no one opting for ;
    Aguero > Bentekke ?
Fixtures are there and form has to improve IMO.

Lambert says he's still struggling with injury..its clearly affecting his game. I wouldn't be surprised to see him benched. He's just not an option at the mo. Have a look over in the watchlist widget for some better options.

City have scored 75 goals in 25 games ... Sells itself.

So with the packaged schedule upon us we have 4 games quickly served up in 10 days. Question for the board, how many points will you consider a success over this period? I'm going to shoot for 280 as my aim.

My minimum is always 50 a week on average over that sort of period. Given Suarez (c) that should rise to 240...so I agree 280 and above would be a great success. I'd be happy but not ecstatic with 250 over the four gameweeks though.

Scores aren't important, it's your score in relation to other people. I just want more than people around me.

Pleased to hear Clyne is back in training , so my only doubt is Rooney.

Not convinced Rooney is out because last week evra was ruled out by the papers and started against villa.

I don't think Clyne will play if he's only just back into training. Would be silly to play him so soon.

    Please help!!

    Team is :

    Speroni / Mannone

    Evans, Bardsley, Coleman, Shaw, Turner

    Walcott, Silva, Janazaj, Redmond, Pieenar

    Lukaka, Rooney, Suarez

I have 0.4m in the bank and due to playing in a mini league need to make up 60 points in the next 4 game weeks. What should I do?

Thinking Rooney to Welbeck and back again next week?

Anyone reckon Kelvin Davis might come back from injury and play for SOU? Or is it more likely that Gazzaniga will just play?

Davis is largely believed to be a ahead of garza. Gazza hasn't played well either.

Morning all, same issue as most on here (Rooney owner).

Just wanted your opinion on who should be first sub out of:

    1) Ravel (A - ManU)

    2) Ward (H - NEW)

    Thanks 🙂
