Dugout Discussion

The Dugout Discussion – Monday

An all-London affair at the Emirates brings the curtain down on Gameweek 17 this evening. Plenty of Fantasy favourites are on show as the Gunners look for the win that would extend their lead to four points over the chasing pack:

For the hosts, Aaron Ramsey and Mesut Ozil are the main protagonists for Fantasy managers, whilst Theo Walcott will be looking to maintain the form that saw him score twice at the Etihad last weekend.

Jose Mourinho’s side roll up on the back of a poor form of form on the road. The Blues have been beaten in three of their last four away games in all competitions but know that a victory will draw them level with the Gunners on 36 points. Eden Hazard will be desperate to have his say before Fantasy managers turn our attentions to the Gameweek 18 fixtures on Boxing Day.

The team news sees the hosts make four changes from the side that lost 6-3 at City last time around. Kieran Gibbs and Thomas Vermaelen are drafted in for Nacho Monreal and Laurent Koscielny at the back, with the Frenchman sidelined due to a knee wound. Mikel Arteta partners Aaron Ramsey in the double-pivot, with Mathieu Flamini dropping out, whilst Tomas Rosicky gets the nod on the left, replacing the suspended Jack Wilshere. Lukas Podolski warms the Gunners bench along with the likes of Santi Cazorla.

The Blues make three alterations from the XI that edged past Palace. Gary Cahill replaces David Luiz in defence, whilst John Obi Mikel and Frank Lampard are drafted into midfield – Michael Essien drops out through suspension while Juan Mata takes his place on the bench, allowing Ramires to move onto the right of the attacking midfield three. Oscar, Andre Schurrle and Samuel Eto’o are also amongst the subs, with Fernando Torres leading the line again.

Once again, we’ve opened the Dugout Discussion chatroom for those partial to some real-time reaction.

Need to know before the price changes... both cost the same:

    A) Terry, Luna & Ramsey
    or
    B) Evans, M.Olsson & Walcott

Almost decided on Chico & Ozil to Baines & Walcott for -4.
Do people think Walcott will play more than Ozil over the next 4 games or so?
Happy to Bench Shelvey and get rid next week or later if necessary

Hazard has the best fixture, but I don't think that makes him the best choice.
I think you should captain Negredo.

I think most will agree Pellegrini made a bit of a mistake starting Dzeko over Navas.

Assuming they go with a 4-5-1 then who will be central? Nasri or Silva? Didn't pay attention to who moved centrally at the weekend.

I can't see it, twice they've started Dzeko and Negredo and both times they've been poor.

Best Panty replacement till the Jan WC?

    A) Howard - good fixtures but 4 YCs is a concern given my keeper situation
    B) Szczesny - current preferred option
    C) 5.4m or below keeper - means I can keep Nasri instead of Mirallas in a couple of weeks

    Panty
    Terry, Evra, MOlsson
    Hazard, Ramsey, Nasri, Mirallas
    Suarez, Rooney, Lukaku

    Davis, Ravel, Clyne, Ward

I can't see him keeping Baines on the bench. It would be one heck of a call if he did. I think it shows that Baines always being forward leaves then open to quick counter attacks.

Hi guys, need some help, this has been bugging me for ages, I need to drop one of the following for boxing day
Hazard, Walcott, Ramsey, Januzaj, Silva, Rooney, Negredo and Suarez?
I know Januzaj seems the obvious choice but with Ramsey playing deeper now, I don't know?
Plus Negredo v Liverpool, not sure on that either? Any advice welcomed.

Drop Negredo. He is the worst value/points ratio of the list.

Cheers, I was sort of wanting to drop Negredo, but city at home, don't wanna regret it. The only safe option is to drop Januzaj as his ownership is low and no one in my ML has him.

      Rooney looks great..

But it requires balls to currently Captain him rather than Suarez though, I think Suarez will have a very tough time to get chances with liverpool Mid Pair facing the City Midfield.

Is is really logical to own Suarez and not armbranding him... dunno

    Howard Marshall
    Terry Walker Burner Ward Chester
    Yaya Hazard Ramsey Whittingham Ravel
    Suarez Rooney Remy

    1 FT
    1.2 in the bank

    I was thinking of doing:

    B) Remy to Lukaku/Adebayor

Oh no, I just had a thought that it might be worth captaining Baines... Was already considering Lukaku but now he won't be on pens. I know the 'rule' but there aren't any standout picks this gw. My choice is probably Baines, Rooney, Lukaku or Suarez

    Hello lads

I'm definetely selling Ozil today but im keeping Rambo.

I was torn between getting Ya Ya , Theo or Silva , in the end im favouring Silva because with virus form he could work well for me.
If he gets a yellow in the next 2 I can switch to Ya Ya for the banned game and then switch back.

I just feel having Rambo and Silva.that i have a nice balance.of a big ownersip and a differential.
