The Christmas Day message and, while it’s fitting for me to announce my own personal Fantasy Football “Annus horribilis”, this is a day for all Fantasy managers to put red and green arrows to one side, embrace the distractions of family and friends and return fresh on Boxing Day.

Having said that, typically, we’re not putting our slippered feet up just yet. Over the course of the day we’ll bring you the second part of Frisking the Fixtures from Roscola, while Paul and I will deliver the Boxing Day Scout Picks and “Differentials”.

So, Merry Christmas to you and your family from Fantasy Football Scout but be sure to sneak away to get yourself fully prepared for tomorrow when, through a Baileys and mincemeat haze, the Gameweek action will resume.

    I doubt it'll pay off over the season. Özil is now the linchpin of the side and they'll probably pick up a top striker in the transfer window, so Walcott will continue to compete for a spot out on the right. There's a lot of Walcott mania on this site just now, which means Özil might end up becoming a very useful differential. And because he's that bit more expensive, it's hard to transfer him in once you lose him. That's just my thinking.

Captaincy Choices:

1. Suarez - Form is unprecedented. However seeing as its a top of the table clash both teams might play in a probing style. Similar to arsenal Chelsea in GW17. Both teams at risk of shutting up shop. See a potential of 0-0 here. Both sides very attacking. My current choice

2. Walcott - West ham are fairly strong defensively at home. Arsenal will likely pull an attacking display. Good potential here.

3. Roonpig - Carrick not back yet? At risk of being played too deep. Hull are strong defensively at home. A decent and consistent pick nonetheless

4. Lukaku - A decent pick, but this choice is blighted somehwat by his inconsistency. Sunderland also seem to have taken a turn defensively, allbeit they have some key players out for this clash it would seem.

Sneaky punt: Adebayor - Ive always said that he is a world class player and his goals in recent matches prove it. Could prove a gold mine should other forces fail.

    I honestly see it has either a high scoring match or a 0-0. Top of the table clashes usually do not begin with all guns blazing. Should an early goal or two come into play the match will likely result in a high score as both sides either search for equalizers or levellers.

    Same could be said about chelsea in recent matches. Against "lower" opposition. Top teams search for winners as the quality of the counter is somewhat lacking the cutting edge of higher teams. Higher calibre teams such as Arsenal, chelsea's Man citys attempt to styfle opposition attacks and movement (against each other) and search for probing goals rather than committing men forwards as both have the quality to do damage on the counter against, say the west hams of the world

  Suarez is hard to resist, though he's facing one of the toughest home defences in the league and Man City are on a good winning streak. This might be Suarez's toughest game of the season, so I'm leaning against captaining him. Walcott could do well, though there's a fair chance he might be subbed after 70 mins. Rooney to me seems very good, especially if Wellbeck doesn't play. He might be leading the line and on penalties against a tiring Hull side. Lukaku is hit or miss. My second best choice is Hazard. He looked mad when he was subbed last game so I suspect he'll have a point to prove at home and Swansea are under strength.
  So: 1. Rooney, 2. Hazard, 3. Suarez, 4. Walcott (or Özil), 5. Lukaku, 6. Adebayor (too unsettled).
  Just my opinion!

First time doing this i normally hate reading this..
Just wanting advice about what to upgrade/downgrade etc..
Obviously goalkeeper and defence is biggest issue at the moment

Im only ever going to play 3-4-3 for the foreseeable future and suarez most likely to be captain each week.. his ppg is crazy since hes come back! Have been tempted by henderson or sterling or even dempsey if he gets good game time!

  Nasru should definitely play, if possible try get silva or yaya as they are scoring more consisently but nasri definitely most explosive..
  
  Barkley should definitely play, everton should put 3-4 goals past sunderland, they are bound to be relegated this year.

  Hard to say about Jan the Man's game time so probably best on the bench. Nasri has a goal or assist in every home game so far. He may be rested, I guess, but I doubt it. Barkley looks a more certain starter than Jan IMO

Surely Suarez is the best captain pick he's already proven to be fixture proof and city's mentallity is you score 5 we'll score 7. They aren't exactly great defensively either!
