We’ve reached the Seventh Round of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII, as sponsored by Paddy Power, after 16 more teams were eliminated in the previous batch of matches. As we cast an eye over the weekend’s results and look to the next round, those still in with a shout should note that the upcoming fixtures will be played out over Gameweek 21 – the 10 fixtures on New Year’s Day do not count towards your points hauls:

Site regular Tony Hibberts Love Child squeezed into the last 16 by a one-point margin. Having won his tie 60-59, he now sits in 268th overall up – the highest-ranked manager remaining in the draw – and is up against Tdubb05 for a place in the Quarter-Finals.

Site moderator applebonkers is still in with a shout of snapping up the silverware. A 63 point-haul was enough to see him through last time around and earn him a spot against sim716 when the cup resumes in Gameweek 21.

The 2ndMan deserves a mention here. A tally of 72 points was higher than any other manager over the last round and sees him square up to 11 Men in Flight in the next round. Yes the Sess! racked up 71 points – the second-highest haul of Round 6 – and will now face FPLAaron, who, with an overall position of 464,000, is the rank outsider for the tournament.

Finally, Tal was the lowest-scoring manager to earn a spot in the next round after registering 54 points in Gameweek 19 – he now goes head-to-head with EricCantona_707.

If you want a full update on how the ties played out in the previous round, click here. Otherwise, click here for the Seventh Round details.

As always, we wish good luck to the final 16 as they brace themselves for battle!

Henderson for now. Playing with a move attacking team that's scoring more goals.

Liverpool's system is based on a 3-man midfield and possession. Having 2 CMs kind of ruins that

Moses has been terrible for Liverpool in every game except his first vs Swansea.

Allen missed a sitter vs Everton, but other than that has been decent. Not amazing, but not terrible either.

Essentially all players with more than 3% ownership are a problem, get rid as soon as.

sell all of them for hits, mate. You'll make it back on a couple of goals and the minutes alone.

      Rav, Aguero, Silva, Sturridge, Ozil.

      Perfect replacements.

If for free I'd be transferring, not for a hit though with the wildcard right around the corner.

I have just been considering my second free transfer to replace Ravel Morrison.

    Ki's stats look quite good.

Is he nailed on,and why the recent change to pushing him forward?

I remember seeing him play vs Reading last season for Swansea and he sat quite deep from memory.

    Any info appreciated.

Stats aside he looked okay, but I went for a Giaccherini punt instead. I think Sunderland may start to hit some form so it may be worth it

Good luck with Giaccherini. Poyet has him looking tenacious and i think he'll do well in the second half of the season.

    Tremmel (myhill)

    Mert - terry - ward
    Hazard - Walcott - Giaccherini - ravel
    Lukaku - Suarez - negredo

    Silva, Chico, burner

Obviously with my bench and news on rav is it worth my 1FT for

Silva > Caz for a 3 week punt?

    Cheers, 0.5 INB

    Hazard Walcott Silva Sterling Cabaye
    Suarez Negredo Rooney

Want to do this but a bit afraid of another player getting rested as well, rooney or negredo or something, then Chester (liv) comes in.. but I'll follow your advice, thanks!

Transferring now for that exact mid. It looks fine to me. If your using your wildcard as soon as available punt away but if not save FT. Just remember the longer you hold the wildcard the better the chance you have.

Something is drawing me to a 1 week punt on nolan

Fulham shippping alot of goals , my worry is that his away form has been bad throughout his career.

    Worth a 1 game punt ?

I do like the look of B. Last season I had a punt on Cazorla brought him in, captained him and he got a hatrick. Got rid of him the following week and he didn't score again for a few weeks after. Hopefully you'll have the same luck!

    Mannone
    Coleman, Merte, Ward
    Yaya, Walcott, Redmond, Hazard
    Suarez, Rooney, Hooper

Ward, Silva Vlaar 1FT 1.2 ITB

Planning to do Vlaar --> Debuchy then put Redmond first sub on the bench, and just bench Silva for a week. Even if Newcastle concede against WBA Debuchy still looks a great attacking threat. Sound good or would you recommend something else?
