Over the last couple of days, we’ve updated both the Career Hall of Fame and the Live version for members. The Career version now includes all new additions to the Fantasy Football Scout leagues and is viewable to all via this link or the top menu “HoF” link. This table will be updated every week with new entrants.

The Hall of Fame is a ranking system which we apply to everyone in our Fantasy Premier League (FPL) mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. Essentially, it tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a “HoF rating” accordingly.

The “Live” version of the Hall of Fame, available to our Members, has been updated to include points earned in Gameweek 20. This will be updated with the latest rankings 24 hours after the conclusion of every Gameweek from this point on.

If you’re wondering what the Hall of Fame is all about, you can read below for a quick guide. Alternatively, you can view this movie to listen to Mark and Rate My Team’s Chris Atkinson talk you through it.

Live Hall of Fame Top 10

In the meantime, we thought we’d run the rule over those at the top following the update:

Site moderator Evs is the new number one in the Live Hall of Fame. Having finished fifth overall last year, he looks poised for yet another incredible season – he currently sits on 1,298 points, which is enough to earn him 1,846th spot overall with another 18 Gameweeks to go.

Ulrik Nylnad sits in second spot. His consistency over the past seven seasons in staggering – in six of those years, he’s finished inside the top 2,100, with his “worst” performance back in 2011/12, where he ended in 7,729th spot overall. Ulrik is currently situated around the 46,000 mark but with such an impressive history, you’d expect him to push on again.

Derek Simpson takes third spot. He ended last year in 38th position overall and has finished inside the top 4,000 in five of the last six seasons – at present, he’s just inside the 100,000 mark but has plenty time to make his mark.

In fourth, Rob Pitt has finished inside the top 1,000 in two of the last three years and is nicely poised around the 12K mark, whilst Chris Denbeigh is set for another outstanding season. He has top beaten the 2,5000 mark in six of the previous seven years and is currently situated in 2,559th spot overall.

Elsewhere in the top 10, Atiq Rahman is the highest of our featured managers in this season’s overall standings. A score of 1,304 points has helped him climb to 1,337th position – boosting his chances of finishing inside the top 5,000 for the sixth time in seven years. Pascal Evans has managed a top 1,000 finish in five of the previous seven but, currently sitting in 152,350th overall, has a task on his hands to repeat that feat.

What is the Hall of Fame?
In simple terms, this is as ranking system which can be applied to everyone in our Fantasy Premier League mini-leagues – both the free and the members league. The Hall of Fame tracks the performances of every manager over each of the seasons they have participated and awards a ranking according to the performances. We have a career table that updates every season and a live table that will be updated using the latest season data, after every Gameweek.

How is my rating calculated?
The “HoF Rating” is based on your points scores from previous FPL seasons, with the latest season weighted the heaviest and each corresponding season weighted at roughly 80% that of the previous season. So, in other words, those who performed best in 2012/13 will receive a bigger HoF Rating boost from those who did best in 2007/08. The “HoF Ranking” even allows for those with missing years, adapting the formula accordingly to allow to rank alongside the veterans of the FPL.

How do I join the Hall of Fame
Simply sign up to our leagues, either the Fantasy Football Scout Classic League (1580-1106), or if you’re a member, the Members Classic League – the code is available on the dashboard of the Members Area.

How do I find myself in the Hall of Fame?
The search box at the top of the ranking tables allows you to search by surname or by FPL id.

What if I don’t want to be listed?
Either notify us via support@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk or simply leave the Fantasy Football Scout league and you’ll be removed on the next update.

When does the Hall of Fame get updated?
The Career table is available to all and is updated at the end of each season to display the latest rankings.

The Live version of the Hall of Fame is updated every week to use the latest season data. This version will only be available to our members in the Members Area. If you wish to get access to the live version, you can sign up as a member. Click here for details on upgrading your account or signing up.

Looking at some of the cheaper Crystal Palace defenders; which of these are more likely to see the most playing time? I can't dig up any definitive information through various google searches.

    1) Parr
    2) Mariappa
    3) Moxey

I'm 0.1m short of Ward, unfortunately.

It's pretty hard to tell. Mariappa has the best streak of recent games; but Moxey has the most minutes played (although, absent for awhile).

Parr just got into action and has 2.5 of the last 3 games; so that doesn't help either.

Only if I dropped Kosc; but that would be devastating.

I'm rotating 2 cheap defenders from these teams; due to their fixtures:
Hull, Cardiff, Crystal Palace and Norwich

Parr and Moxey are competing for the LB spot. Parr seems to be favoured ATM, he was injured at the start of the season and returned recently.

Mariappa will probably be dropped to the bench soon when Dikgacoi is back from injury. This will allow Ward to return to RB, which Mariappa has been playing in. If you need one of them I'd say the safest is Parr.

    Mertesacker v Koscielny.

Having checked the history, this largely boils down to the goal threat differential. At 0.8 shots per game to 0.3, I think Mertesacker has enough additional points potential. Personally, I'd expect Mertesacker to get a couple more goals which more than justifies a small additional outlay.

Any suggestions on this possible team for the wildcard? Thinking of doing Rooney to Sturridge so i can improve the defense, just feel uneasy having three 3.9 defenders

    Marshall
    Coleman | Zabaleta | Chester
    Silva | Hazard | Eriksen | Walcott
    Suarez | Aguero | Rooney

Mannone Baker | Whittaker | Canas

    5th Mid Analysis

I've researched the 6 most common '5th mids' that I've seen in teams around here.

    Mutch (CAR) 68 points
    - $4.6m, 3.4% ownership
    - 13/19 starts (started last 9)
    - 4 goals, 3 assists, 1117 mins played
    PP/90min* = 5.5

    Ki (SUN) 45 points
    - $4.8m, 0.4% ownership
    - 13/16 starts (started last 10)
    - 1 goal, 1 assist, 1277 mins played
    PP/90min = 3.2

    Redmond (NOR) 52 points
    - $4.6m, 2.4% ownership
    - 15/18 starts (started last 10)
    - 1 goal, 3 assists, 1292 mins played
    PP/90min = 3.6

    Whittingham (CAR) 73 points
    - $5.3m, 8.3% ownership
    - 20/20 starts, played every min of the season
    - 2 goals, 4 assists, 1800 mins played
    PP/90min = 3.7

    Januzaj (MUN) 51 points
    - $5.1m, 11.3% ownership
    - 9/14 starts (started last 1)
    - 3 goals, 4 assists, 870 mins played
    PP/90min = 5.3

    Barkley (EVE) 63 points
    - $5.3m, 31.0% ownership
    - 16/19 starts (started last 2)
    - 3 goals, 2 assists, 1481 mins played
    PP/90min = 3.8

    *PP/90min = Points per 90 minutes played

    Conclusion:
-Mutch seems the standout option with the most goals out of these players. He is also a great differential at just 3.4% ownership.
    - Januzaj would be an excellent option IF he was nailed on.
    - Barkley and Whittingham are consistent starters but lack explosive potential.
    - Redmond and Ki are cheap but unlikely to produce attacking returns on the rare occasions they'll be needed of your bench

    My tip: Mutch.

Sometimes its more of a way to stimulate discussion, more than anything.

The question of which 4th / 5th mid to get is the big question for everyone at the moment with the template pretty much taking care of the remainder of the team.

Januzaj has the highest upside imo.

Also monitoring the RavMo situation - clearly one of the hotter prospects in English football at the moment along with Barkley and Januzaj. If he doesn't move, I totally expect him to continue featuring in the first team. My first instinct is he could be the best option with Andy returning!

The beauty about Januzaj is he tends to be benched in the difficult games. For eg, I'm decently confident that he'll start against Swansea.

Sometimes it's also a case of punting a bit with your 5th mid. Gives you the liberty to do so as it's not going to matter much in the long run (owner of Kim Bo Kyung since GW1 and haven't used him since GW5 or so). Adnan's a mercurial talent and easily the best footballer out of these options.

I think he will. With Young and Nani both out there are less rotation risks but I also think he looks more dangerous on the right than the left but Valencia isn't as flexible so Januzaj will spend more time on the left.

Another goal and he should be in touching distance with Baines, at which point I think it would become a worthwhile debate for those who got him late if they want to get Baines instead in the WC.

Is nobody interested to get a defender from the joint 2nd best defense in the league
with these fixtures in the next 6: SWA avl NOR SOT eve HUL ?

Surprised to see there's not lots of GoDemel in RMTs.
With Reid and Collins coming back of injuries this month surely it would be a solid defense again for West Ham?

        Late WC-ers especially.

I would like to fit them in my team somehow.

Southampton, Cardiff/Sunderland rotation, West Ham to Stoke are all good short - medium term budget defense that may bring few CS and allow to upgrade your team up front.

It's Reid vs Cardiff / Sunderland for the 3rd defense slot for me.

Also a lot of us are now trying to pick up differentials for the last half of the season. There's not been that many teams posted up on here with a West Ham defender in it. So I think it's a great shout.

Yeah. There's not much to play up front. That extra 1m you save getting a cheap defender over a premium 3rd would do great upgrade to your front 8

This is the team I'm most comfortable with for the WC; after mocking about 20 of these:

    Boruc (Davis)
    Koscielny, Olsson, Turner (Parr, Chester)
    Yaya, Hazard, Walcott, Silva (Mutch)
    Suarez, Rodriguez, Rooney

    When Aguero returns:
    Rooney + £0.9 → Aguero

I will fire this off during the weekend; preferably after a few of the cup games. This will depend on the pricing trends; as I have no margin for error.

Any concerns (aside from lacking of differentials and a weak defense)?

Thanks for all the help and lack of sleep!

      Good team.

      My 2 cents:

      1) Would prefer Mannone over Davis for an extra 0.5 (Sunderland have some decent fix coming up)

      2) You need 2-3 solid defenders for the second half of the season. Big fan of the Chelsea defence (biased? maybe). Would downgrade Yaya to Cabaye perhaps and get JT/Azpi and Coleman/Distin

Interesting. I already have Mannone and Cabaye; so it would save me even more.

There is a huge allure to having 4 big mids. I spent the start of the year with 3 big forwards (SAR).

I'm having a hard time thinking of downgrading any of them.

As for triple City cover; I might be biased... but, I think it's one of the few teams where it might actually be beneficial. 😛

You gave me some things to think about; thanks guys!

    at the moment..

    Boruc - Davis
    Baines - Mertesacker - Zabaleta - Ward - Chester
    Hazard - Walcott - Silva - Eriksen - Mutch
    Suarez - Aguero - Rodriguez

can't wait until I just wildcard and stop thinking about when..if the market goes crazy between now and the lock I may just have to do it on the 11th..

this set up leaves me with 0.1m available.

New Year's was massively frustrating as a football fan to watch due to the several lame diving shouts.

I fear something has to be done to alleviate diving from football, else it's going to spread like a virus if it hasn't already.

Sepp Blatter's idea of a time penalty:
    http://www.standardmedia.co.ke/sports/article/2000101403/sepp-blatter-fifa-president-wants-time-penalty-for-diving-in-football

I wouldn't unless it resulted in 2 YCs aka red and a suspension (which is already available through appeal I believe).

Much better mate, could even go Evans if you fancy a Utd comeback in terms of resilience at the back. But prefer Eve def over Utd for the moment.

Think it gives a much better balance to your team, making it easier for you to jump on new bandwagons. Who knows - JT may become essential in the near future? Allows you to do a easier switch.

    This is my front 8.

    Silva Walcott Hazard Redmond JWP
    Lukaku Rooney Suarez

I was thinking of getting a decent midfielder, Lallana or Cabaye for Redmond/JWP. For that, I'll definitely have to downgrade Rooney. Or Lukaku and downgrade elsewhere. Adebayor's proving to be good value now. What do you guys think I should do here?

    Thanks.

I think you should watch the matches intently this weekend. Tomorrow will be a good test for Adebayor and Eriksen and you might want to consider Eriksen instead of the other 2 potentially as a differential, if anything just for the potential for points pre-WC and high possibility for price changes as he is certain to be a hot commodity soon..only 2.6% ownership right now 😉

Eriksen is tempting too. But then again, I wouldn't double up on Tottenham so soon. Also, there aren't many strikers which present good value below 8 million. Hooper's one though.

Thinking a lil differently for the WC midfield.

    Which double up is better?

    1) Yaya and Silva
    2) Ozil and Wally
    3) Oscar and Hazard

Sometimes, I find it convenient to use the process of elimination to decide. While in this case, may be convenient to think what players have potential to give you sleepless nights by not owning them?

I'd say Walcott, Hazard (whilst on form) and atleast one City mid.

If you need to double in the short term though, probably Özil.

    If you were to pick a WCT, would you go for;

    1.
    Marshall - Mannone
    Coleman - Kosc - Chester - Burner - Ward
    Walcott - Hazard - Jedinak - Coutinho - Silva
    Suarez - Adebayor - Aguero [Rooney + 0.5m until he's fit]
    0.0 in the bank

    2.
    Marshall - Mannone
    Coleman - Kosc - Chester - EVANS - NASTY
    Walcott - Hazard - Jedinak- Coutinho/GERRARD - ERIKSEN
    Suarez - Adebayor - Aguero [Rooney + 0.5m until he's fit]
0.2/0.3 [Gerrard dependent] in the bank

Jedinak is 2pts in the bank every week as with those front 7 you'd only be benching automatically if one is rested

Coleman & Kosc will be playing every week a C-B-W rotate very well, and Evans/Nasty do a perfect Home/Away rotation but thanks for your 2 cents

1st place is guarenteed CL spots but beyond there we haven't sorted it out yet. CL and Europa will probably be similar to last year which is some spots based on how you finished in the Leagues and some spots given out by us based on who we see helping us run the competition, making pressers, contributing to banter, etc

speaking of which, ENR if you're still around could use some help with a few FFS UEFA things tonight or tomorrow
