United’s fringe player Fabio needed fewer than five minutes to make his mark during Sunday afternoon’s FA Cup loss to Swansea. Replacing the injured Rio Ferdinand on 76 minutes, as Chris Smalling moved to centre-half, the Brazilian received his marching orders for a reckless lunge on Swansea’s Jose Cañas in the 80th minute of the 2-1 defeat:

Fabio – who has played just once in the league all season for David Moyes – now finds himself sidelined for three matches. He will therefore miss this evening’s Capital One Cup Semi-Final first leg against Sunderland in addition to the upcoming league clashes against Swansea and Chelsea.

City’s Dedryck Boyata will miss Wednesday’s Capital One Cup clash against West Ham after being dismissed in the weekend FA Cup draw at Blackburn. Handed a rare chance to impress by Manuel Pellegrini at Ewood Park, his eagerness got the better of him as two yellows brought his afternoon to an early close and his one-game ban means Pablo Zabaleta is likely to be fielded at right-back against the Hammers. The Argentine’s owners would have been hopeful of a rest but, with Micah Richards still injured, Zabaleta looks the obvious option.

Elsewhere, Southampton’s Pablo Osvaldo serves the second of a three-match ban for violent behaviour this weekend. The Italian international has already missed the cup win over Burnley but will also be sidelined for league games against West Brom and Sunderland. With Rickie Lambert forced off early due to a leg problem, Jay Rodriguez looks in pole position to be fielded as the lone striker against the Baggies at St Mary’s.

Newcastle’s Mathieu Debuchy will serve the second game of a three-match ban this weekend as the Magpies entertain City at St James’ Park, whilst West Ham skipper Kevin Nolan’s league prospects have been somewhat helped by his side’s cup ties. Nolan is currently banned for four games but, having sat out the weekend FA Cup loss at Forest, he will also miss tomorrow’s Capital One Cup clash with City, meaning he will skip just two league encounters (car, NEW) before returning for the Gameweek 23 trip to Chelsea.

The weekend cup ties ensured the Suspension Tightrope was kept busy, with 18 players having now received more than five yellow cards. Swansea’s Chico Flores, Chelsea’s Ramires and Villa duo Ashley Westwood and Ciaran Clark all picked up their sixth cautions of the campaign, though the latter two have some way to go to match their team-mate Fabian Delph. The midfielder is now the outright Tightrope leader on eight yellows – two more bookings before the second Sunday of April (Gameweek 34) and he’ll be looking at a suspension.

I think if you have no 2nd wc then look at bigger picture - decent team for now. Wait for last GW.
Gives you chance to get the best until the end .

Rooney may be fit again, if so I can hold out until Saturday or the week after and get a good amount of time with it to try and raise a couple fractions of a mill..

        Mannone (Lewis)
Burner - Mert - Coleman (Ward - Chester)
Hazard - Silva - Walcott - Sterling (Ki)
        Suarez - Rooney - Negredo

getting in either Gerrard or Ozil for Wally..haven't decided just yet

I'm going Ozil as a Walcott replacement. Considering going for a mad 3-5-2 if I WC, until Aguero returns.

          Boruc Davies
          Coleman Kosc Chester BTurner Ward
          Hazard Oscar Gerrard Silva Ozil
          JRod Bony Suarez

Rotate JRod and Bony over the next few GWs, let them audition for who stays - and then Gerrard/Oscar > cheapie with Aguero in for one of the strikers...and back to 3-4-3. Thoughts? Or likely to end up with egg on my face.

Current team's linked - pretty similar to yours but with Howard, Kosc, Cabaye, Podolski for Mannone, Mert, Sterling & Negredo.

it depends on how long we actually think Kun is still out? I guess you'll have made your decision whether to WC or not tomorrow after the teamsheet is out? if Kun is on the bench that could change EVERYTHING and I'll probably just WC and be done with it..

if Kun is back early but not this GW would you take a hit to bring him in if he's back next one or would you just save and do it the one after to give him a game to get match fitness back?

like it though..not sold on Bony..maybe Ade? Bony could be a good punt though..looked dangerous against United (but then again who hasn't lately 😆 )

I don't think he will be rushed back for this weekend, not necessary to risk him. I reckon he seems to be pencilled in for a cameo against Cardiff, but will probably wait til GW24 to get him in. So in simple terms - give him a game/cameo before I get him in.

Yea not entirely sold on both Bony and Ade either - both were made to look good by United 🙁 budget not an issue with both.

Quite like the look of the 3-5-2 for next couple of weeks, I will have to make the decision tonight in fact. If Rooney is not on the team sheet, it's an easy decision to WC and eliminate the doubts. If he is on the team sheet and comes through unscathed, will likely save the WC.

Seems really knee jerky though. Not too comfortable with it. But I quite like risking it and catching ML rivals off guard. They might block it, but then i'd be one step ahead. 90 point gap, so will have to give it a go sooner or later.

what's your OR? I'm 143k..I think unless you're in the top 10k right now you can't afford to go template or you risk not moving that much tbf..that's why I'm struggling..template team looks nice but I feel like I'll stagnate

Pretty close behind at 149k. Yea considered that hence going with a 3-5-2 to try and push up (without yaya too in those 5 mind). Even considering a foster-boruc combo to break up the keeper template abit.

            Boruc - Davis
            Coleman - Mert - Azpi - Chester - Ward
            Haz - Silva - Ozil - Gerrard - Noone
            Suarez - Kun - JRod

leaves me 0.2m in the bank? look good?

probably WC on Saturday and do Wally > Ozil today as Stevie's price isn't going anywhere anytime soon

also considering going the Marshall/Mannone route and doing Azpi > Clyne/Shaw

Yea that looks good actually, would probably end up with a similar team if i do Oscar > Noone, Bony > Aguero 😆

I've never had success with rotating keepers so will just stick with Boruc Davis personally. Cheap as chips too.

well Marshall + Mannone is only .4m more and it doesn't really make or break me because I could choose between Mutch or Noone/Jedinak

Need a defender 4.5m or below to rotate with some others.

    Marshall / Mannonne (to rotate)
    Sagna - Clyne - Gabbidon - Chester - ?

I really need someone secure of a start and good fixtures for game weeks 21 and 24. For those two weeks:

    A) Senderos (SUN, SOT)
    B) Alcaraz (NOR, AVL*) * Jagielka likely back by 24?
    C) Turner (WHM, NOR) Means doubling Cardiff def, and potential for Hudson to replace him?

Alcaraz would be ideal if I thought he'd start both games but I'm expecting Jag to be back by 24 and Stones might even start ahead of him.

    Silva - Lallana - Hazard - Ozil (- Barkley)

    Suarez - Lukaku - Adebayor

Unable to decide whether to go 3-4-3 or 3-5-2 on my WC.

If I choose to go 3-5-2, is Suarez and Adebayor too weak as a front 2? Do I atleast need to get Rooney/Lukaku to go with Suarez?

please help me. have already made two transfers (-4) and can't decide if I should play WC or not because of Wally.

    This is my team:

    Mignolet - Davies
    Dawson - Sagna - Coleman - Riise - Ward
    Walcott - Hazard - Silva - Eriksen - Januzai
    Suarez - Welbeck - Remy

Should I sell Wally and get -8 (no cash in bank) or activate my Wildcard?

    Thanks in advance!
