United’s fringe player Fabio needed fewer than five minutes to make his mark during Sunday afternoon’s FA Cup loss to Swansea. Replacing the injured Rio Ferdinand on 76 minutes, as Chris Smalling moved to centre-half, the Brazilian received his marching orders for a reckless lunge on Swansea’s Jose Cañas in the 80th minute of the 2-1 defeat:

Fabio – who has played just once in the league all season for David Moyes – now finds himself sidelined for three matches. He will therefore miss this evening’s Capital One Cup Semi-Final first leg against Sunderland in addition to the upcoming league clashes against Swansea and Chelsea.

City’s Dedryck Boyata will miss Wednesday’s Capital One Cup clash against West Ham after being dismissed in the weekend FA Cup draw at Blackburn. Handed a rare chance to impress by Manuel Pellegrini at Ewood Park, his eagerness got the better of him as two yellows brought his afternoon to an early close and his one-game ban means Pablo Zabaleta is likely to be fielded at right-back against the Hammers. The Argentine’s owners would have been hopeful of a rest but, with Micah Richards still injured, Zabaleta looks the obvious option.

Elsewhere, Southampton’s Pablo Osvaldo serves the second of a three-match ban for violent behaviour this weekend. The Italian international has already missed the cup win over Burnley but will also be sidelined for league games against West Brom and Sunderland. With Rickie Lambert forced off early due to a leg problem, Jay Rodriguez looks in pole position to be fielded as the lone striker against the Baggies at St Mary’s.

Newcastle’s Mathieu Debuchy will serve the second game of a three-match ban this weekend as the Magpies entertain City at St James’ Park, whilst West Ham skipper Kevin Nolan’s league prospects have been somewhat helped by his side’s cup ties. Nolan is currently banned for four games but, having sat out the weekend FA Cup loss at Forest, he will also miss tomorrow’s Capital One Cup clash with City, meaning he will skip just two league encounters (car, NEW) before returning for the Gameweek 23 trip to Chelsea.

The weekend cup ties ensured the Suspension Tightrope was kept busy, with 18 players having now received more than five yellow cards. Swansea’s Chico Flores, Chelsea’s Ramires and Villa duo Ashley Westwood and Ciaran Clark all picked up their sixth cautions of the campaign, though the latter two have some way to go to match their team-mate Fabian Delph. The midfielder is now the outright Tightrope leader on eight yellows – two more bookings before the second Sunday of April (Gameweek 34) and he’ll be looking at a suspension.

I can understand if people prefer Suarez and Aguero so can't afford all 3 but writing Rooney off for the likes of Adebayor seems ludicrous.

he is expensive, injured, falling in price, playing in midfield at times and missing his strike partner.

          it is understandable.

too many template teams on here, are people not able to think for themselves.

      u need a few differentials.

why not get some players that aren't in the template but might shoot you up the rankings e.g. bony gerrard puncheon nastasic

think you are weak up front.

would have one of lukaku/jrod not both - it limits your captaincy options each week, particularly if suarez is off form/difficult fixture

lukaku will become kun as soon as i have seen him start a match. only there because of he has good fixtures, explosive(which will hurt due to high ownership) and other fwd options are shit atm.

gutsy with no Arsenal (Gnabry doesn't really count)..you thinking they fall apart or are you waiting on that supposed Theo cover that Wenger might bring in?

is Baker in for when Vlaar returns?

also how confident are you in the Chelsea double up? if Mata leaves I might consider it myself but they're so stacked in mid that I think only Haz is nailed on..

looks interesting though, gotta be a different to move up the ladder right? what's your rank?

180k been falling like a brick since xmas. mainly cos i didnt have coleman. then a big rise last week. You're rite u gotta be a little different so i went Baines over Coleman and Im predicting a small Arsenal collapse, and low scoring games where they try and consolidate. Chelsea having established a strong defence will push on now and with the strikers being so crap I expect Haz and Oscar to do the biz...cant believe Gerrard is a diff, and he is supplying Suarez and Sturridge.

I'm 100% getting Gerrard in..as of this most recent GW not a single person in my ML has him and only 2% have Oscar so I'm considering not getting Arsenal at all..I'm glad I'm not WCing until this lock so I can see how Ozil plays this weekend against a weak Villa (though Villa did win at Emirates)

have considering doing Coleman > Baines (my sell price is 6.1m) but that 1.3m difference is a bit much..feel like they will shore up in the back a bit more with him in and Distin close to return and those FKs and pens are tantalizing even if Coleman is playing like an exciting right winger instead of an exciting right back..

I'm on 143k myself and looking to rise as high as possible but main goal is to just win my MLs and anything else is secondary as I wrote off the first half of the season with unnecessary hits and getting used to playing the game at this level (this much detail and whatnot, never used to try, barely even remember to make transfers)

yeh same here was never this bothered, i will be annoyed if i dont finish top in my MLs considering how much detail we go into. but the game comes down to diffs, so i will have 2 chelsea mids cos others dont, i will have Gerrard and I will have Baines over Coleman. none of those choices would be stupid and anyone of them could propel me to the top!!
im a villa fan, will be going to arsenal match. dont see either team doing much tbh.

Good luck for the season bro.

A few years ago, there use to be a little squabble amongst people on Fantasy Football Scout about who was better, Jack Wilshere or Thomas Cleverly. People would use statistics to prove their points, many overlooking their obvious bias to the argument as well as the fact that statistics can actually be misleading.

Then one day, along came Jordan Henderson, to add to the mix of young English midfielders like young Jack and Tom. However, Jordan moved with a big price tag to Liverpool and looked fairly poo. Then one day he got a lot better, and people started to talk about him as a rival to Tom and Jack's throne of The Great Young English Midfield Hope.

But what's this? Another young upstart has raised his head. Young Rossiter Barkley has sprung onto the scene, notching up a good few goals and catching the eye of football fans everywhere.

Ok, enough of the fairly tale bollocks, who's better, Henderson, Barkely, Cleverly or Wilshere? On current form I think i'd go:

    1) Henderson
    2) Barkley
    3) Wilshere
    4) Cleverly

I'm a Millwall fan. Being totally unbiased I'd put Liam Trotter at 5).

Love it. May get us playing good football. I think we have the players for it. He has a history of getting teams promoted to the Prem. Getting Millwall promoted? That would be insane. However, i'm not sure i'd like some are more 'dense' fans having representing the club at that level.

Why the board even considered picking an Ex-Hammers' legend previously is beyond me.

There's nothing wrong with hits, I've taken 1 more than him and have the same team value.

Even if I do A, I can just downgrade one of the mids to Lallana/Cabaye/Eriksen and get Aguero in for one of Ade or Bony.

Time for Giroud to step up again? No Theo or Bendtner
Podolski the only alternative, but more likely to be wide left
Awesome fixtures, and has had some what of a rest
