The first of seven Saturday encounters kicks off at the Stadium of Light as Sunderland entertain Southampton this lunchtime.

Following the Wearside encounter, there are five games to focus on at 3pm, with Arsenal and City’s home clashes against Fulham and Cardiff heavily-backed by Fantasy managers. The evening match at Anfield then follows, as Captain Poll favourite Luis Suarez looks to run riot against Villa’s porous backline.

The Black Cats are looking for a fourth straight win on all competitions and, having already beaten City, Chelsea and United at home under Gus Poyet, they’ll fancy their chances of claiming another scalp against Adam Lallana and co.

    I use this site on a Saturday to get the updated scores as quickly as possible, but all I ever see is people laughing at other people because their players haven't started / haven't scored / got substituted etc. It may be slow but at least BBC Sport is civilised.

        I do ignore them, but they slightly ruin the enjoyment with page after page cluttered with "LOL", as though their Saturday or Sunday is made by sitting at a computer waiting for a player to get injured or sent off. It's pathetic.

    full on discussion on Soccer Saturday about Tiote's cancelled goal from last week v City....am I the only one who thinks the decision was correct....that Gouffran was interfering with play?
    I mean, he had to duck to get out of the way of the ball. Hart would'nt have saved it, but you could hardly say he was'nt interfering with play if he had to duck out of the way of the ball
