Ahead of today’s game at the Bridge, Paddy Power has come up with something a little different for those yet to register an account. Our bookmaker friends are tempting us with an offer of either 4/1 for Chelsea to triumph or 8/1 for United to emerge victorious against Jose Mourinho’s side.

If you’ve already got an account with Paddy, you can still benefit from a Money Back Special on offer at Stamford Bridge. Paddy are offering refunds on all losing First Goalscorer, Last Goalscorer, Correct Score and Scorecast bets should the encounter end in a draw.

To clarify, the Chelsea and United specials are limited to a £10 stake, are open to new Paddy Power customers only and subject to the terms and conditions specified. New customers can only opt for one of the two offers.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

u can play the downgrade here to upgrade there game to tinker and put some differentials
suarez sturr is too many eggs in one basket so drop sturr
terry can be dowgraded to azpi
carzola u cashed in on him, can be dropped for ozil or wilshere or if u have giroud up front and a CB that would be enough arsenal cover
now that u have a lot of cash, u cna venture in the mid table teams, pick up some differentials in order to push forward
tottenham has a lot to offer and you should think about the rweturn of united's big guns soon

Cazorla a very good alternative to Özil. Hazard been playing exceptionally well all season. AJ has very nice upcoming fixtures, Cabaye (see Hazard), Noone decent attacking budget option.

the discussion on the previous page about formations, i take issue with some of the points. that there is hardly any difference is a very big statement and imo it is wrong.

i have noticed some people think city and united play the same formation. they play a 4-2-2-2 when they have their strongest team out. united have a 4-4-2. the big is silva/nasri are both number 10s whereas united play 2 out and out wingers. I would prefer united to play the city formation as I am not sure out and out wingers is the best tactic in the modern game. crossing is the least effective way of creating chances. silva and nasri's through balls along the ground so much more incisive/accurate.

united have the most failed crosses out of any team in the league and the least chances created through the middle. i know the players have been sub-standard but I think the old 4-4-2 moyes keeps rolling out isn't helping. sorry for the rant (not that sorry)

well the thing is that negredo and aguero can pick up a through ball take one touch and fire a goal
can u see welceck doing that? even rooney most of the time scores with balls comign from the sides and not the back
the only player who can make use of through balls in unted is RVP
and we havnt started with who can provide them

You're right that they are different styles but I don't think they represent a huge change in formation, merely a change in tactics (often to suit the players available). Some people talk about a change in formation as a huge difference and how players need to get used to it, but I see it as a more subtle change.

I think your point on Man U's failed crosses is due to a lack of quality delivery and runs tbh. Crosses can still be very effective if done effectively.

Interesting that the lopsided formation seems to be in vogue atm (City with Navas playing, Arsenal for example).

there aren't many amazing out and out wingers now though are there? hazard is an inverted winger, rarely see him whipping crosses in, walcott is more of a striker, cazorla is a number 10 on the left wing- again rarely see him whipping crosses in. players like beckham/figo who made their name on crossing aren't around now. navas is a little demon. excellent accuracy even when running at full tilt, not seen many like him

Valencia used to be a great out and out winger but he's AWFUL now. I genuinely think he is United's worst regular player (maybe Young actually).

We need a switch to 4-2-3-1 and buy someone for the RAM spot.

          Right to left:

          £££/Januzaj, Rooney, Kagawa/Januzaj

          ...................RVP

Put Rooney behind RVP and tell him he's playing as a "forward striker" but we need him to support the whole team.

IMO we need to cut out the wingers from our team completely and play a 4-2-3-1:

      ..................DDG

      Rafael, Evans, Vidic/Jones, Evra

      ..........Carrick, Fellaini/Fletch

      £££/Januzaj, Rooney, Kagawa/Januzaj

      ..................RVP

      1. 2 really strong attacking full backs would be allowed to overlap the midfield and provide width and MUCH better crosses than Valencia/Young provide. Perfect formation to make moves for Shaw/Ben Davies & Coleman too.

      2. Rooney is strong playmaker and helps dictate player further up field, he may want to play as a striker but for us he's best used as a number 10 style forward.

      3. Kagawa IS NOT A FLIPPING LM. Playing him at LAM would allow him to tuck in, have shots, and also play in the first team alongside Rooney.

      4. Januzaj is brilliant on the wing but he's also pretty brilliant in a R/LAM role.

      5. Fellaini is too rubbish to be our main form of CM alongside Carrick in a 4-4-2. Doing this formation would allow Fellaini to concentrate on breaking up play and playing short passes (he's a decent short passer but barely ever plays a long ball anyway).

Ratings out of 10 & Suggestions please!

    Boruc, £3.9m

    Coleman, Kolarov, Rafael, Evans, Olsson

    Hazard, Silva, Lallana, AJ, Sterling

    Suarez, Rooney, J Rod

    £0.5m ITB

Planning on Johnson & Rooney to Eriksen & Sturridge in a few weeks due to fixtures.

The defensive rotation works out REALLY NICELY. I know United have been rubbish defensively but Rafael knows how to attack and at £5m Evans is probably the second best value pick at £5m or less (can't have Shaw).

130 points behind in ML so I need differentials, even in defence! Aguero will be too popular for me to make ground on and I think Sturridge will be much better value overall.

Could do but then I either lose the attacking verve of Rafael or the value differential in Evans (United have fantastic fixtures and Fellaini is back to hopefully help the defence).

If I choose Arsenal I'm essentially picking a game vs Liverpool over a game at home vs Fulham in the next several weeks.

What formation would you play? If 3-4-3 you have too much tied in defence.

3-4-3 BUT even before his goal yesterday I felt J Rod was hugely underrated as an option. In the members area his stats are almost matching Sturridge's throughout the season!

Rafael + Kolarov + Coleman are all very attacking and Evans is just a great value pick (I could have picked Ben Davies instead for example).

Not many great premium mids to spend money on too.

I'd have a rotating goalkeeper - Mannone (you can just fit him in with the budget).

Going without Aguero is brave as is the doubling up on the United defence. Will Rooney be fit in time for the Cardiff game? For boldness away from the midfield 9/10.

Decent shout about Mannone but I'd only play him 2 times in 10 games and I can see him conceding in both (WBA & Stoke at home). I played Boruc alone for the first half of the season and it worked beautifully so hoping it's the same again.

If Rooney isn't fit for Cardiff I'll just stick with Sturridge instead and use the money elsewhere.

        Cheers for the rating!

Even as a United fan i struggle to understand how Demichelis and Kolarov start ahead of Clichy and Nasty or Lescott

I'm a well known Kolarov fan, but that's as an FPL pick as he's so attacking. But as a defender he's a liability, for this exact reason. Clichy is far more solid

Demichelis is just a walking disaster zone. For me he was responsible for both Cardiff's goals yesterday. Nasty and Lescott aren't great, but they are better than Demichelis IMO

for me he was at fault for both goals.

Didn't really challenge Noone for the first one, and by the time he got to Kompany he was in the box, which made Kompany's job very difficult.

For the second he dived in needlessly inside Cardiff's half and this left City 2 v 3.

City look very solid, but they are constantly being undermined by these individual errors

I agree on Demichelles. I'm not sure what he brings to the table. With Kolorov, he is definitely a defensive liability, but he creates so many chances that he really suits Pelles out score the opponent philosophy.

Even without Yaya they could still out score everyone, doesn't mean he shouldn't play. Kolorov set up the first goal against Newcastle, in a game that should have ended 1-1, so I think he is worth it, but they should have a better, more mobile left centre back to cover for where he isn't as good.
