Gameweek 24 is set to bring us the winner of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII, as sponsored by Paddy Power, after the semi-finals came to a conclusion last night. Our two finalists are Ajax and Tdubb05, with the former perhaps the slight favourite due to his higher overall rank (23,379 compared to 37,953):

Tdubb05 will have no qualms over the underdog tag, though, after he narrowly edged out former cup favourite Cunny Funts by 61 points to 60 points in the previous round. Ajax, on the other hand, safely secured his passage with a 63 – 46 win over Tal in the other semi-final, after the later took an eight-point hit prior to last Tuesday’s deadline.

Looking at the two finalists, there are four players – Luis Suarez, Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and Eden Hazard – currently sitting in both sides. If Aguero is ruled out of City’s clash with Chelsea on Monday, the decision to replace the Argentine could go some way towards determining the tie, though.

At present, Tal has five players set to feature in Monday night’s encounter at the Etihad and only has three fit defenders, whilst Ajax – who has already made two transfers – will be hoping his decision to double up on Arsenal’s backline pays off.

Cunny Funts and Tal will go head-to-head for in the third vs fourth place play-off. At present, the duo have four of the same players – Suarez, Aguero, Toure and Everton’s injured defender Seamus Coleman – but Cunny Funts’ winter wildcard is now active, leaving his opponent guessing.

As we discussed previously, it’s not just bragging rights on offer here – the top three will be rewarded for their exploits.

Trying not to waste a transfer, but feeling antsy about Aguero.
    FWDs: Suarez, Aguero, Bony
MIDs: Haz, YaYa, Mata, Erik, Noone.

I can play a 3-5-2 since Noone is playing home against Norwich. So...

    A. Sit tight and wait to see about Aguero?
    B. Go J. Rod / RVP for Bony / Aguero leaving me with 0.0 in the bank and a tough time getting Aguero back? -4 hit
    C. Go Rooney for Aguero / giving me the chance to get Aguero back more easily? -0 for FT

I shipped him on my WC last week and I gave up a lot of value since I brought him in early. Didn't regret it for that one gameweek, but might down the line. My DEF is Kol, Azpi, Gab, Vlaar, Bruce.

Hi all, thinking of replacing Coleman with Flanagan or Evans. (This will allow a straight swap of Aguero to RVP next week.) Evans seemsmore "nailed" on but Liverpool seem to be tightening up defensively. Will Flanagan start consistently?

I'd go Evans in that case. I don't think Flanagan will start/play all the time and prior to the clean sheet against Everton, Liverpool gave up two goals to Villa and three to Stoke, neither of which are offensive powerhouses.

Is having Mata and RVP a bad idea? Seems kinda silly to spend over a fifth of my budget on 2 attacking players in a team that hasn't exactly been free-scoring this season

Was considering this myself earlier but on looking at it Sturridge seems much better value, better p.p.m. Playing in a team who are scoring well and 4 million cheaper

    Good Morning people.
How does this Wildcard draft look like?

    Adrian/3.9
    Terry/Evans/Shaw/Ward/Fabio
    Hazard/Eriksen/Mirallas/Johnson/Puncheon
    RVP/Suarez/Benteke

    Any suggestions?
