Gameweek 24 is set to bring us the winner of the Fantasy Football Scout Cup VII, as sponsored by Paddy Power, after the semi-finals came to a conclusion last night. Our two finalists are Ajax and Tdubb05, with the former perhaps the slight favourite due to his higher overall rank (23,379 compared to 37,953):

Tdubb05 will have no qualms over the underdog tag, though, after he narrowly edged out former cup favourite Cunny Funts by 61 points to 60 points in the previous round. Ajax, on the other hand, safely secured his passage with a 63 – 46 win over Tal in the other semi-final, after the later took an eight-point hit prior to last Tuesday’s deadline.

Looking at the two finalists, there are four players – Luis Suarez, Sergio Aguero, Yaya Toure and Eden Hazard – currently sitting in both sides. If Aguero is ruled out of City’s clash with Chelsea on Monday, the decision to replace the Argentine could go some way towards determining the tie, though.

At present, Tal has five players set to feature in Monday night’s encounter at the Etihad and only has three fit defenders, whilst Ajax – who has already made two transfers – will be hoping his decision to double up on Arsenal’s backline pays off.

Cunny Funts and Tal will go head-to-head for in the third vs fourth place play-off. At present, the duo have four of the same players – Suarez, Aguero, Toure and Everton’s injured defender Seamus Coleman – but Cunny Funts’ winter wildcard is now active, leaving his opponent guessing.

As we discussed previously, it’s not just bragging rights on offer here – the top three will be rewarded for their exploits.

Winner – £100 worth of free bets. £100 Amazon voucher
Runner-up – £50 worth of free bets. £50 Amazon voucher
3rd Place – £50 worth of free bets. £25 Amazon voucher

As always, we wish all four the best of luck as they brace themselves for battle!

Feels odd being in GMT time zone for the ScoutCast, having to wait until late at night. Used to be a good treat to get it at 5pm. Enough time to set up the bathtub.

Loving the 3-5-2, loving your grav. Solid team fella. Should do quite well.

Wardinho away at the Emirates seems to be a bit of a dodgy pick though it's pretty slim pickings at the back from you.

Given how pathetic Fulham are, I might be tempted to play Rodriguez over Eriksen as Hull are fairly sturdy at the back at home.

Cheers dude. Yeah, I don't have many defensive options right now. As it is, Fonte was a four point hit to get in for Coleman. I'm doing Chester to either Ivanovic or Azpilicueta next week.

The J. Rod shout might not be a bad idea actually. I've given myself a bit of a benching problem with my front eight. Nice problem to have mind you.

Eriksen returns have been more consistent so in a way he's the safe pick. Mirallas has had good stats with some end product and now faces the prospect of being OOP for a few games at least. He's more of a maverick pick. Either or should do well.

What's your view on Wayne R? I am eyeing him as an Aguero replacement and it's interesting to see him in your WC. I would have probably gone with RvP if I were WC'ing this week.

I think Roo and RVP will split the points. RVP will score slightly more but not the 2M difference. Also i'll need to make some sacrifices i don't want to if i go RVP.

i agree, plenty other strikers will match or at least be close enough to him to save the cash and spend elsewhere. especially as suarez is a consistent captain you don't need him at all - his real value in previous seasons was the safety of a solid captain, but suarez will outscore him anyway

      no hits this week??
Looking good, i got RVP in too. HBA could be good punt, no city 'coverage' is my only issue.

what do you, as a United fan think of Januzaj potential gametime from now on?

haha no, need a few clean weeks ideally to purge myself of that -24!

I might bring in Silva for HBA if he survives the Chelsea clash but am also tinkering with just leaving out all City until after the blank, especially if City beat Chelsea in the FA Cup.

I think he should be starting in that trio with Mata and Rooney behind RVP, he was made for the role and clearly has shown he is up to the occasion of having a lot expectation and responsibility on his shoulders despite being only 18.

I think the signing of Mata is a signal of Moyes' intent to shift to a narrow formation with the fullbacks providing width. It's likely that now Januzaj as a result will get a starting berth more regularly based on positional comfort as Young, Nani and Valencia aren't as adept at playing the LAM/RAM position as they are at winger (and not that adept at winger most of the time either!). Nani might be able to but his decision making is terrible. I'm hoping that a potential shift will light a fire under them and they may improve as they did look more lively against Cardiff.

You obviously holding Aguero on WC , I wd drop and punt unless you leading in yr ML. Gibbs I like but will be subject to some rotation.. Wd downgrade Januzaj and upgrade Bennet - dont know how nailed on he is in the longer term ?.

Norwich looked good in the past few weeks, might bring ward in gw 28. Thinking about Aguero, might get sturridge or negredo in 🙂
