We turn to Friday’s Scout Picks for inspiration in our attempts to get one over Paddy Power this weekend. Arsenal and Everton supply us with a midfielder apiece ahead of their favourable home games, whilst we return to the days of being “Robin Reliant”, backing the United striker to grab the goals at the Britannia.

First up, we make our way to Goodison as Everton prepare to welcome Villa. The Toffees are struggling for options up top after both Romelu Lukaku and Lacina Traore were ruled out with injury – Kevin Mirallas is expected to lead the line as he looks to continue the form that has harvested two goals in his last three. Paddy are offering 13/2 on a Mirallas goal and Everton clean sheet and we’re willing to part with £3 of this week’s tenner here.

We wind our way to the Emirates next for Arsenal’s home game with Palace. The Gunners have conceded once in the last seven in front of their own fans and Santi Cazorla has now notched four times in his last five in all competitions. In spite of such facts, Paddy are still willing to offer 3/1 on a Cazorla goal and Arsenal clean sheet and we’re making this our bet of the week, throwing £4m Paddy’s way for Sunday’s match.

Our final match takes place at the Britannia, as Stoke prepare to face United. Robin Van Persie was immediately back amongst the goals upon his return from injury in midweek and Paddy are dangling odds of 8/1 on the Dutchman to score two or more and David Moyes’ side to keep a clean sheet. Mark Hughes’ side have been decent at home but if the champions can shore up at the back, Van Persie, ably backed by Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney, could well flourish once again. We empty our wallet of the final £3 for this one.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

cheers bemba. 🙂 it's McShane or Bruce, but Bruce was the one taken over when they changed to 4-4-2 during the week. So I guess McShane > Bruce.

I see Adrian keeping his place after recent performances, and can't afford a back-up.

Happy to gamble on both I think. 🙂

I'd like to see some Man Utd attack. Personally I'd stretch to get Rooney instead of Studge.
Going Adrian as your only playing keeper also looks very risky.

Yes it does, but I wouldn't rely on Soton defence untill the end. I'd rather go for Adrian/Mannone rotation and downgrade elswhere.

Lots of players have risen, but, Lallana has great fixtures. Nolan would be quite tempting with Caroll back, and a nice differential, plus fixtures.
Or a huge punt would be Zaha.

Coinflip. But would go RVP just to justify his price tag.

    A or B....thats the question

    Adrian
    Mert evans kolorav (bruce vlaar)
    hazard mata caz AJ (barkley)
    suarez aguero bony

    A: aguero >> dzeko
    B: aguero + bony/kolorav/barkley >> Rvp + Jrod/burner/noone (-4)

If B, who do i downgrade to create the funds...

    Should I play this:

    Marshall
    Vlaar, Koscielny, Shaw
    Gerrard, Lallana, Mata, Hazard, Henderson
    Suarez, JRod

    (Speroni, Aguero, Coleman, Chester)

or take my week to -8 by getting rid of Aguero?

I'm in the same position. No obvious replacement for Kun as I too have Suarez and Gerrard. Don't want to triple on Pool attack.
I might take the hit to get Rooney. But my replacement is just Colback.
I suggest you just put this team out and re-assess next week.

    Opinions please.

    1) Best Swansea midfield coverage?

    2) Best Cardiff midfield coverage?

    Cheers

I know Hull are at home but they have not kept many clean sheets, plus their GK is suspended. For that reason I would play Ward as they are hard to break down under Pullis.

Looking at the stats of the Liverpool defence I would say they are terrible for CS potential and the only one with a goal threat is Skrtel.

However, looking a bit further in to it you notice that their CS potential increases dramatically if Agger is playing.

Therefore, Liverpool defence should be avoided until Agger is back but should invest once he is. [assuming they have nice fixtures]
