We turn to Friday’s Scout Picks for inspiration in our attempts to get one over Paddy Power this weekend. Arsenal and Everton supply us with a midfielder apiece ahead of their favourable home games, whilst we return to the days of being “Robin Reliant”, backing the United striker to grab the goals at the Britannia.

First up, we make our way to Goodison as Everton prepare to welcome Villa. The Toffees are struggling for options up top after both Romelu Lukaku and Lacina Traore were ruled out with injury – Kevin Mirallas is expected to lead the line as he looks to continue the form that has harvested two goals in his last three. Paddy are offering 13/2 on a Mirallas goal and Everton clean sheet and we’re willing to part with £3 of this week’s tenner here.

We wind our way to the Emirates next for Arsenal’s home game with Palace. The Gunners have conceded once in the last seven in front of their own fans and Santi Cazorla has now notched four times in his last five in all competitions. In spite of such facts, Paddy are still willing to offer 3/1 on a Cazorla goal and Arsenal clean sheet and we’re making this our bet of the week, throwing £4m Paddy’s way for Sunday’s match.

Our final match takes place at the Britannia, as Stoke prepare to face United. Robin Van Persie was immediately back amongst the goals upon his return from injury in midweek and Paddy are dangling odds of 8/1 on the Dutchman to score two or more and David Moyes’ side to keep a clean sheet. Mark Hughes’ side have been decent at home but if the champions can shore up at the back, Van Persie, ably backed by Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney, could well flourish once again. We empty our wallet of the final £3 for this one.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

Pretty good, Rooney might be a bit premature, but if he scores he can be a very good differential.

The rest of the team is great for the moment (chambers and Flanagan can cause headaches later on)

        Thanks mate. 🙂

Yeah, I'm slightly worried about Rooney not starting but he's the only option really. City strikers are all not nailed on at the moment, I don't wanna get Jrod and double up on Southampton attack, and I can't afford RVP, and I don't want Benteke, and I don't want to get Sturridge and double up on Liverpool attack, when they're playing Arsenal next.

Chambers and Flanagan are a bit worrying, but my defence rotates well so far so I'm happy with it. 🙂

I guess the only other option could be Giroud and then swap with Rooney after the gameweek giving you insight on his position/play, etc. but with the reasoning above Rooney is probably the best option you have.

Getting defenders who will play long term seems to be the hardest thing to do.
What about other ones in the price range? Especially Flanagan is worrying, altough he might nail it for some time I guess.

Yep, I think Flanagan's nailed on at the moment, he does come off as a sub sometimes though, which could be worrying. It could either work for me or against me really. I'm prepared to take a risk on him. 🙂

The Giroud thing is actually a pretty good idea, I was actually considering it for a minute there, but I hate planning transfers that might get delayed due to injuries. I already have Johnson ---> Eriksen planned in GW26, and I wouldn't want to plan another one for GW25, when there's the risk of the transfer getting delayed and having to keep Giroud for another week.

I think people are getting a bit over-concerned about Rooney not playing imo. All Moyes really said was, he's going to have to bring them back slowly as they've just returned from injury. I think we all really knew that anyway though, I never expected them to both jump into the team. I think Rooney will start this game as RVP started the last one, and then maybe they'll both start vs Fulham perhaps?

Actually I think Rooney will start, my concern was more about his position, but all in all he is one of the best strikers in the league, so definitely worth trying.

yeah, if you have a transfer lined up better not plan others, I am doing the Johnson -> Eriksen on the WC, could bite back this week, but overall I guess Eriksen is better value.

              Overall, good luck 🙂

    Some last Wilcard questions

    1. Is Mignolet a better option than Howard

    2. Ward and Fonte as 4th and 5th defender, yay or nay? Other options?

    3. A.Johnson or Eriksen as 4th Mid

    4. Barkley or Sterling as 5th mid.

    Appreciate any comments! Thanks!

        Thanks a lot!

I had Mignolet from the start until Christmas and went with Howard afterwards, which didn't end up to well. And I prefer one bigger goalie, so thats the reasoning.

Probably makes sense to not take a hit as it's unlikely that dzeko will out score janu by 4 but just a bit worried with having no bench and janu and kolarov in my starting 11

Defense of your Rival is just too strong

But you can trump him...especially if Silva outscores Toure

If I had been able to afford van Persie I would have had a chance.

But I had to settle for Rooney 🙁

Last place in midfield on WC week. Who would puck out of Lallana, Eriksen and Gerrard?
    I have Ade from Spurs
    Flanagan and Suarez from Liverpool
    Shaw and Boruc from Saints.

Also is Chambers a definite starter ahead of Clyne?

anythin mroe than a 4 point hit i find hard to justify.. got mirallas for free. he's a short term punt. if you pay -4 for him then part of the reason for gettin him goes away

    Guys my team for today:

    Mannone ( Marshall )
Clyne Burner Koscielny ( Ward Coleman )
Mata Eriksen Hazard Wilshere ( Pozuelo )
    Suarez (c) Sturridge Adebayor

I have 2.3 ITB and so far I am on a -4 hit. Now this is the question I need your opinion on :

Should I bring in AJ or someone under 9.1 for Wilshere for another -4
I know this will result in -8 hit overall but if I get someone today in for -4 for Wilshere and they have a high chance of getting 4 points or greater it isnt really a loss

I know its sounds complicated but I want 4 good MFs starting today

Who is the best option to get for Wilshere. I have 9.1 max to get him

It would be good if it was not a short term punt but someone who I can keep for a while

Sorry for the long post but just want your guys opinions

    Cheers in advance

AJ has terrible fixtures. Just GW25 (HUL). then he has two horrid away fixtures followed by a blank followed by another horrid fixture.

I would say No to taking an 8 pt hit.

Ive got Marshall and Mannone and starting Marshall at home vs Norwich...did ponder upon whether it was right but I fancy even a Cabaye-less Toon to score at home vs Sunderland

Repost* Would you just get Fabio or pay the extra 1.1 million and get Caulker? Remaining money will be just kept in the bank.
