We turn to Friday’s Scout Picks for inspiration in our attempts to get one over Paddy Power this weekend. Arsenal and Everton supply us with a midfielder apiece ahead of their favourable home games, whilst we return to the days of being “Robin Reliant”, backing the United striker to grab the goals at the Britannia.

First up, we make our way to Goodison as Everton prepare to welcome Villa. The Toffees are struggling for options up top after both Romelu Lukaku and Lacina Traore were ruled out with injury – Kevin Mirallas is expected to lead the line as he looks to continue the form that has harvested two goals in his last three. Paddy are offering 13/2 on a Mirallas goal and Everton clean sheet and we’re willing to part with £3 of this week’s tenner here.

We wind our way to the Emirates next for Arsenal’s home game with Palace. The Gunners have conceded once in the last seven in front of their own fans and Santi Cazorla has now notched four times in his last five in all competitions. In spite of such facts, Paddy are still willing to offer 3/1 on a Cazorla goal and Arsenal clean sheet and we’re making this our bet of the week, throwing £4m Paddy’s way for Sunday’s match.

Our final match takes place at the Britannia, as Stoke prepare to face United. Robin Van Persie was immediately back amongst the goals upon his return from injury in midweek and Paddy are dangling odds of 8/1 on the Dutchman to score two or more and David Moyes’ side to keep a clean sheet. Mark Hughes’ side have been decent at home but if the champions can shore up at the back, Van Persie, ably backed by Juan Mata and Wayne Rooney, could well flourish once again. We empty our wallet of the final £3 for this one.

Register and Bet £10 And Get £20 Free

If you’re new to Paddy Power, then you can take up any of these odds and get yourself a bonus. You can sign up on this site and get a free £20 when you register an account and bet a tenner.

Finally, of course, we should state that all these offers are only available to those aged 18 and over and are subject to Paddy Power’s terms and conditions. Also, if you’re going to bet, always gamble responsibly.

        Ah, now I'm doubting myself again haha. I figure if Kolorov starts then brilliant - he could get anything from a CS to a goal or two. If he doesn't and comes on for a 1pt cameo, that might still be as much as Terry gets anyway.

        Cue Terry scoring a brace. 🙂

    Norwich FPL Update

    A recent upsurge in clean sheets have got many on this site, myself included, thinking about purchasing a Norwich defender. The fixture list up until the last 4 remains positive for teams to rotate in/out a defender, week-by-week, as the player sees fit. So, which defender should you buy?

    Whittaker - 3.9 - Very cheap and likes to get forward, but massive rotation risk with Martin.

    Martin - 4.7 - Expensive, 60/40 likely to start ahead of his Scottish team-mate for the RB berth.

    M.Olsson - 4.2 - Nailed on and cheap. Doesn't get forward, sits back on corners/set pieces.

    Garrido - 4.0 - Clear reserve, will only play if Olsson picks up an injury.

    Bassong - 4.7 - Nailed on but expensive. Threat at corners/set pieces, yet to score this season.

    R Bennett - 4.0 - Great Value. Threat at corners/set pieces. Massive rotation risk now.

    M Turner - 4.2 - Injured for next 1-2 months. 1st choice once back.

    J Yobo - ?? - Will likely fight and shortly replace R Bennett to partner Bassong.

    J Ruddy - 4.9 - Nailed on. Received most bonus points. Cheaper alternatives at other teams.

    With everyone fit Bassong and Turner currently stand as first-choice with Bennett, and now Yobo, providing cover. Once fit, I'd expect Yobo to be first-choice cover, ahead of Bennett, despite some impressive performances from the 23-year old.

    The battle between R Martin and S Whittaker is much harder to predict. Both have been mediocre when given the chance, but the general consensus is that Martin currently holds the advantage over his team-mate 60/40%. M Olsson is however clear 1st choice over J Garrido.

    With Hughton sticking to the solid/rigid 4-4-2 formation with two wingers and two strikers, little has changed in the midfield and striking department, which therefore remains a 'stay-clear' zone for FPL purposes.

    Buy = M Olsson
    Risk = R Bennett
    Avoid = Martin and Whittaker

    Play Mannone or Marshall?

    Mannone is away, but Sunderland are in decent form, He is in great form and no Remy or Cabaye for Newcastle.

    Marshall is at home, Norwich aren't really scoring, Cardiff are conceding under OGS and aren't in bad form. Also I have to play Burner due to injuries and having Ward away to Arsenal.

    Good luck to RVP's new owners. Faith in that man ruined the beginning of the season for me.

    On WC and been chopping and changing for past few days..

    Mannone - Adrian
    Baines - Cahill - Koiscielny - Chambers - Fabio
    Noone - Yaya - Mirallas - Hazard - Lallana
    Suarez - Sturridge - Dzeko

    0.4 in the bank.. Points of note:
    - not 100% sure on RVP/ Rooney gametime in the next 2 weeks.
    - City have nice attacking fixtures
    - Mirillas could be leading the line for EVE
    - Adam Johnson fixtures after next week dry up, as do CPL

    Given all of the above, would anyone recommend any changes to my squad??
