David Moyesโ€™ men are under further scrutiny as United fail to beat basement-dwellers Fulham at Old Trafford, while Emmanuel Adebayor sneaks a winner against Everton to send Spurs above the Toffees in the race for Champions League football.

Van Persie Still Toiling to Justify Price Tag
Robin van Persieโ€™s equaliser at Old Trafford means he has now scored in all three appearances since returning from a thigh injury. Indeed, the Dutchman has found the net in seven of his last eight Premier League games and, whilst he is beginning to show some of the consistency that made him FPLโ€™s most expensive player, heโ€™s produced just two sets of double figures over that run, offering far less security as an armband option. Luis Suarez had left the captainโ€™s door wide open with a nominal contribution to his sideโ€™s five goals on Saturday โ€“ Eden Hazardโ€™s 21 point-haul set the benchmark sky-high but Van Persieโ€™s six points at home to a struggling side was hugely disappointing for those managers whoโ€™d readjusted their squads in order to accommodate the 13.6 forward.

Rooney Stumbles Again as Mata Ticks Over
If van Persieโ€™s performance was underwhelming, Wayne Rooneyโ€™s owners will be seriously considering his Fantasy prospects. Having started the game just behind Van Persie, with Ashley Young and Juan Mata either side, Rooney once again played a significant portion of the game in a withdrawn berth. The England forward arguably improved the hosts threat from his deeper role but, at 11.3, heโ€™s now drawn blanks in all three appearances since returning from injury and could well be set for a transfer out of our squads. Mata, on the other hand, shared a near-identical average position with Rooney but had far superior creative outputs. The Spaniard created five chances to Rooney’s one and picked up a third assists in as many games โ€“ with a couple of bonus points also accrued, the 9.8-priced midfielder is steadily accumulating the points, in spite of his sideโ€™s struggles.

Time to Forget Moyesโ€™ Defence
Fulhamโ€™s exposure of Unitedโ€™s defensive fragility will have set alarm bells ringing as the Champions prepare for five weeks on the road across all competitions. Moyesโ€™ men have picked up just two clean sheets away from Old Trafford this season, and face a challenging run of fixtures which afford them home comforts in just two their next six league games – playing host to free-scoring Liverpool and Manchester City in that period. With a blank in Gameweek 28 confirmed, there could surely be no worse a time to invest in the Red Devilsโ€™ rearguard.

Sidwell in the Goals Yet Again
Rene Meulensteen rang the changes following Fulhamโ€™s dismal home defeat to Southampton. The Cottagers boss opted for a younger, more mobile line-up, with Brede Hangeland, Damien Duff, Scott Parker and Darren Bent dropping to the bench, yet it was an old face who stole the limelight, as Steve Sidwell continued to defy his 5.2 FPL price tag. The industrious midfielder was instrumental in the Cottagerโ€™s upset at Old Trafford and, having notched his sixth strike of the season, now sits 13th in the midfield standings – one point above David Silva – and top by position on points per pound. It remains to be seen whether Meulensteenโ€™s invigorated squad will offer up more budget-friendly alternatives as the weeks progress, but with tough games in the short term (LIV, wba, CHE), Fantasy managers will likely remains sceptical for now.

Adebayor the Tottenham Talisman as Eriksen is Hauled off Early
A match-winning goal and couple of bonus points kept Emanuel Adebayor on Fantasy radars yesterday. The Togolese star now boasts six goals and three assists in his nine Premier League starts under Tim Sherwood โ€“ a very respectable 6.2 points per game, level with Van Persie and Rooney and bettered only by Suarez, Sergio Aguero and Daniel Sturridge this season. The 7.9-priced forward continues to offers exceptional value ahead of trips to Newcastle and Norwich before Spurs welcome Cardiff to the Lane in Gameweek 28, when the likes of United and City both face blanks.

Christian Eriksenโ€™s owners will be somewhat concerned by yesterdayโ€™s turn of events, though. The Dane, who had missed just 23 minutes of Sherwoodโ€™s first eight matches in charge, was given just 58 minutes to impress before being replaced by Andros Townsend against Everton. As the injuries start to ease in midfield, it seems his game time is a little less secure than weโ€™d hoped for, with Sherwood willing to sacrifice him early in order to change things around.

Vertonghenโ€™s Return Builds Case for Spursโ€™ Defence
The 6.9-priced defender immediately registered on the FPL radar on his return to action last week with a couple of bonus points against Hull, despite his side conceding at the KC. With Sundayโ€™s clean sheet against the high-flying Toffees, the Belgian is showing some encouraging Fantasy form ahead of those tidy fixtures over the next three gameweeks. Spurs have kept a clean sheet in 50% of the games in which Vertonghen has played (eight from 16), a figure that dropped to 22% (two from nine) during his absence. His influence will certainly boost the appeal of the Spurs defence, with Kyle Walker perhaps the most likely to reap investment. Walkerโ€™s assist from a quickly-taken free-kick sealed three bonus points, as the right back continues to offer attacking threat along with his improved clean sheet potential.

DAMN! New page curse... One more time for luck, please be patient!

    Morning Gents,

This is how I will be lining up for gameweek 26 before transfers:

    boruc
    baines, koscielny, reid
    hazard, mata, silva (v), noone
    suarez (c), benteke, adebayor

    puncheon, yoshida, bardsley

I have two free transfers and 3.4M in the bank, but not sure how to optimise it!

    I've been thinking about:

    a) benteke --> sturridge (save 1 transfer)
    b) benteke --> sturridge, bardsley --> cahill, puncheon --> sterling (-4)
    c) bardsley --> azpilicueta, puncheon --> eriksen

    Any other ideas?

Many people are wondering which players to target bringing in to cover possible GW29 blanks.

There will definitely be a minimum of 4 fixtures in GW29, so 8 teams involved. The first two already confirmed:
    Norwich v Stoke
    West Brom v Man United

All four teams above have good fixtures after their guaranteed fixture that week, so are worth investing in for more than just one week punts, their assets can be kept for a while longer after that GW, while United have a DGW to look forward to as well, which makes them extra tempting.

Spurs and Villa are both out of the cup already, so one of the below will go ahead.
Chelsea v Tottenham or Man City v Villa

City going through in the cup is probably preferable as we can then shed our City assets before a double blank, and Hazard will have a game, as well as widely owned Chelsea defenders.

Worst case scenario for the others:
Hull beat Brighton, cancelling West Ham v Hull
Cardiff beat Wigan, cancelling Cardiff v Fulham.

Arsenal beat Liverpool, cancelling their game v Swansea. Everton beat Swansea, cancelling Everton v Newcastle.
Then either Liverpool v Sunderland or Crystal Palace v Southampton will go ahead depending on the Sunderland v Southampton result.

    Alternatively:
Liverpool beat Arsenal, cancelling Liv v Sun. Southampton beat Sunderland cancelling Palace v Soton
Then either Arsenal v Swansea or Newcastle v Everton goes ahead depending on the Everton v Swansea result.

Therefore there will be at least 4 games going on. Plus possible midweek reschedules.
Ideally for fantasy purposes Liverpool will be playing as everyone has Suarez.
Cupsets from Brighton and Wigan wouldn't go amiss, allowing us to get Cardiff, Fulham, Hull and West Ham assets, however these teams don't have brilliant surrounding fixtures, so may not be ideal to target.

Everton and Sunderland have a few decent fixtures post GW29, so should they have fixtures in GW29, then their assets can be targeted, while Chelsea also have a lovely run of fixtures around then.
Arsenal have truly terrible fixtures from GW30-33: tot, che, MCI, eve, so if they have a blank GW29 then all assets should be dispensed with.

So, which players could be worth it bringing in after this GW if they're playing? (Asterisked if not guaranteed a game)

    M. Olsson, Azpilicueta* Coleman* Ward* Bardsley*

Adam, Snodgrass, Mata, Brunt, Ince* Johnson* Mirallas*

Other than RVP, any of the decent mid-price strikers, depending on which are available:
Eto'o* Lambert* JRod* Adebayor* Remy* Lukaku*

Max of 7 fixtures (assuming none get rescheduled to midweek)

Only the Arsenal, City and Chelsea games definitely can't get moved to midweek though, so there is a theoretical max of 9 games in the GW with only one of Chelsea v Spurs or City v Villa ruled out.

I want to get Reid and Yaya in this week but are they too much of a risk?

I would have thought Reid would have started the last game but was on the bench. With them winning 2-0 will they change a winning team that got a CS? Should I just get Demel in instead?

Will Yaya be rested for the upcoming FA Cup and CL fixtures?

I think Sturridge will punish Fulham as he did last year with his hattie. I've captained him twice now over Suarez with success both times. He's playing further forward and reaping the rewards of Coutinho/Gerrard/Suarez/Sterling crosses and through-passes

Suarez has been involved in 2+ goals in 11 matches out of 20 this season.

      Sturridge 3 in 17.

That'll be why I'll always be C Suarez over him, out of fear more than anything.

Not captaining Suarez is a risk as he would be the default option and if he scores well, you could drop in rankings. I have both and I'm happy to go for Suarez captain as Sturridge is already a differential over other players in my mini-league

I saw a post the other day which effectively answered a lot of the questions being asked on this site which kept coming up so thought I'd answer the ones i can think of in one concise post:

      - Nolan is fit for the weekend

      - Yaya has a hearing/ there will be a decision I believe today if he is to get a ban or not

      - There are countless articles about blanks and potential blanks, look at the hot topics

      - Eriksen does have nor, CAR after everton away so one game is not enough to tell us anything

      - The West Ham backline is not settled right now with the return of Reid, he will be nailed on eventually and is probably the pick of the WHU defenders in my opinion

      - Koscielny or Ward? Koscielny has greater attacking threat that Ward, play him

      - Games cancelled for gw29 will most likey be re-arranged for gw31 or 33

      - Most importantly, ask Beric who he's captaining and do the same ๐Ÿ˜‰

And finally, keep checking the scout tweets, they are perfect for information! ๐Ÿ˜€

I can heartily recommend your second last option. ๐Ÿ˜€

Pondered Collins myself but with Reid coming back either him or Tomkins will be benched. I'd go with Ollson if you can't afford Demel.

Somebody tell me why Benteke (with car, new, NOR) moved out for a City striker (SUN,STO,blank) is bad business?

    Front 8 is:

    Mata Hazard Yaya Lallana (Poz)
    Suarez Sturridge Benteke

Because none of the City strikers are nailed and Benteke doesn't have a blank in GW28. I'd rather save.

Possible rotation and blanks in 28 and maybe 29 could be your undoing. I have Dzeko so will keep him for now and replace with Aguero once he's back.

      From one dog to another:

      -Villa are usually better away
      -Cardiff are bad
-You don't know who will start for City
      -You should save your transfer
      ++

I've got the same attack as you and definitely won't sell Benteke. Saving transfer.

Oh Chambers. Two games for me... going off early to lose clean sheet and then coming on late to steal my Demel sub clean sheet. I would start him and hope for the best. If Clyne starts he should be able to manage 90 this time, in which case Kos can come in.
