Our Saturday morning usual brings another trio of overlooked options for your perusal ahead of this morning’s deadline. We’ve a couple of midfielders with fixtures in each of the next two Gameweeks to consider, whilst our third option is back from suspension and looking to stake a late claim for England’s squad for Brazil.

Charlie Adam

A Fantasy phenomenon back in 2010/11 during his stint with Blackpool, the Stoke playmaker is starting to produce more consistently in Mark Hughes’ debut season at the Britannia helm. Already this term, Adam has found the net on seven occasions (compared to five goals in the previous two years), whilst a trio of assists reflects his growing role within the Potters midfield.

Despite dropping to a deep-lying berth in front of the back-four, Adam’s penchant for a long-range effort has kept his points ticking over – three goals in his last seven, including a strike against former club Liverpool and a brace at home to United, have brought him onto Fantasy radars as managers shop around for options in light of the decimated schedule.

Whilst a weekend clash with Arsenal is far from straightforward, Adam squares up to Norwich next Saturday and also has an upcoming run of games that offers optimism for any would-be suitors. With West Ham, Hull, Newcastle, Villa and Cardiff also on his agenda over the next eight matches, Adam, at 5.8 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), 4.9 in the Sky Sports game and 1.5 in the Sun Dream Team, may be worth considering for Gameweek 29 and beyond.

Christian Eriksen

Let’s face it – until his display against FC Dnipro on Thursday evening, the Dane was far from our thoughts after seemingly becoming a peripheral figure in Tim Sherwood’s first-team plans. The departure of Andre Villas-Boas initially looked ideal for Eriksen – a bit-part player under the previous man in charge, he managed just a single assist in the first 16 Gameweeks before the Portuguese was dismissed back in mid-December.

Along with Emmanuel Adebayor, Eriksen quickly became a vital part of Sherwood’s first XI. The former Ajax man plundered three goals, a trio of assists and eight FPL bonus points in his first seven league games but, after failing to produce against Hull in Gameweek 24, he was then hauled off just before the hour mark in the following league game and hasn’t featured since.

His midweek goal and assist and general all-round performance suggest Eriksen may well have played his way back into contention for Spurs’ home clash with struggling Cardiff this Sunday. Granted, his acquisition comes with a risk due to Sherwood’s unpredictable midfield selections but, providing he’s given the game time, the Dane looks an in-form option to consider, bearing in mind he also has a trip to Chelsea in next weekend’s decimated Gameweek 29 schedule. Available for 6.9 in FPL, Eriksen comes in at 7.0 in the Sky Sports game and 4.0 in the Sun Dream Team.

Andy Carroll

After months on the sidelines with a heel injury, the Hammers forward flickered briefly on our Fantasy radars before a three-match suspension forced him out of the picture again. Handed his first minutes in Gameweek 21, Carroll emerged from the bench to tee up a Mark Noble goal in a vital 2-0 win at Cardiff – three games later, his first home start harvested a pair of assists as his partnership with Kevin Nolan proved the undoing of Swansea.

An altercation with Chico Flores forced Carroll off the field with less than 60 minutes on the clock yet, in spite of his absence, the Hammers have continued to grab the goals and points as their season starts to pick up pace. Expected to be re-installed to the starting XI for a weekend trip to Everton, Carroll sets you back 7.2 in FPL (8.1 in the Sky Sports game and 3.0 in the Sun Dream Team) and also has a double Gameweek 31 to heighten his appeal, as he looks to make up for lost time and stake a last-gasp claim for World Cup consideration.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

I can provide logical reasons for putting the armband on 7 of the players in my team - Suarez, Sturridge, Hazard, Ivanovic, Lallana, Eriksen, Baines.

    #InterestingGW

And if any of them performs better than the final "chosen one", I will regret.

        Haha, 🙂

Why not? Baines is playing against West Ham at home, so a clean sheet is highly probable. As is a goal or assist.

Chelsea, the best defensive team in the PL is playing against one of the worst performing teams this season - Ivanovic can get a clean sheet + attacking points.

If you would regret something like that, is it ever possible for you to enjoy this game?

I would focus on 2 (3max) players who you are most likely to pick as (c), and play that little game between them... see who scores more

Any of those players could get a haul on any given day, you can't be hard on yourself if you didn't captain them as well...

It will only be for the next 3 anyway so short term Snoddy was probably the better choice..I hope.

Captaining Adebayor. His recent form coupled with Cardiffs defensive displays of late were enough to convince me to take a chance.

Sold Yaya for Snodgrass. All part of the master plan to eventually get Aguero in for Adebayor in gwk 31.. Yaya will come back in Mata despite Mata having a dgwk himself..

Sturridge (c) - mainly coz of my Cup rival. My team is better on paper so I am cutting the risk of different captain. Also I think he will score more Lallana, Suarez or Haz

      Transfers:

      Silva -> Snoddy
      Kolarov -> Olsson

Both FTs, won't have any of those for DGWs, so they are out. Snoddy over Eriksen coz of fixtures only. Olsson is long term

Navas > Lallana, and Kolarov > Azpil for 2FT. To field a playing XI on GW28 and 29. Barring injuries, and using the FT I can now field a playing XI on GW29.

Eriksen was a concern as well, but at this point, he is vying for the armband, which is yet not decided. Down to 7 possibilities at this moment - Suarez, Sturridge, Hazard, Ivanovic, Lallana, Eriksen, Baines.

Ade cause he has the best combo of fixture and upside.

Went for Ade and Terry even though it ment a double in defense. Chelsea look solid at the back so why not? Ade is Ade so had to do it with RVP not playing.

Arm band to Sturridge cos he's the popular (so safe) choice after Ade who I'd have to lose RVP for.

      Mata - Snoddy
      Navas - Willian
      Kolarov - Dawson -4pts

I was looking for secure, form players who are playing the next two and have low ownership. Not so much Dawson, I picked him because I don't want to triple up on Chelsea or miss out on Tott points this week.

Anothere 4pt hit next week and I'll have 10 for GW29.

Captain: Adebayor - decent fixture, and Southampton have a tough defence.

Transfer: Kolarov -> Olsson. Replacing a double blanker (who wasn't nailed on anyway) with a cheap defender who plays in 28/29 and has decent fixtures thereafter. Saved the other FT.

Charlie Madam has a good GW29 game, twice as many goals and assists as Snerdgrass who seems to be the player of choice for many, for the same price.

Suarez -- (Narrowly over Sturridge) Better road form than Sturridge and Sturridge's shot conversion rate is unsustainable. Saints form at home has been OK but not world-beating. Also have Hazard for consideration, but short rest makes me leary and Chelsea hasn't exactly set world on fire on the road.

Move this week was Koscielny out for Cahill. Wary of upcoming Arsenal fixtures, while Chelsea has much better closeout to season.

Captain on Ade - form and fixture.

AJ and Silva to Snoddy and Lallana (-4) - planning to keep Snoddy for 6 GWs, and sell Lallana in GW31 for a DGWer, so a 3 GW plan for him.

The above gives me a strong XI for GW28, with two bench players (Chambers and Noone), and 10 for GW29 using my FT, Kosc to Olsson. Even thinking Ade to Rooney for a -4, even thou I am hit adverse, but gives me a decent cap choice.

    Ivan Kos Kolarov* Olsson Ward
    Hazard Silva* Eriksen Lallana Pozuelo*

Which two to remove this week?

Benteke – good fixture, shit form, blank next week and I won't want him back
    SS – they're staying
Silva – removing would mean one less DGW player/less transfers etc, but he misses 2 weeks
Pozuelo – terrible idea on the WC
Kolarov – think I'll keep him for the DGWs down the line

it is kinda stupid but in weeks like this i like to start my non starters (mata evra mannone) and bench my starters
this way i see a huge leap in points and rank on monday morning
anyone in here nostalgic to the days when the player coming off the bench did not receive his bonus points rule?

            Yeah. He's a tricky one.

It's his last week in my team so thinking of treating the boy.
The problem with Bony is that he can get you loads of points in a defeat, like last week, but miss out entirely in a big win.

I wouldn't be surprised if Swansea win 6-0 today and Bony gets 2 points.

Scores will probably be low anyway.

It could be one of those weeks where a big performance by a single player proves decisive. Like that week a couple of years ago when it snowed and loads of fixtures were called off, but Tevez scored a hat-trick.

Oh yeah! Sorry, I read that totally wrong and thought you were talking about next week.

6 dgw players is quite low.
There's a few that I think would be worth taking 4 point hits for -
          Aguero
          Yaya/silva/Nasri
          West Ham defender
          Etc.

Worth 4 points each surely to cover your back?
