The Fantasy Flutter with Paddy Power – Gameweek 29

We turn to three of this week’s Scout Picks in another attempt to get the better of Paddy Power. Tenner in hand, we turn to “Robin Reliant” and two of the top three midfielders in the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game as we look to navigate a decimated schedule which leaves us just five fixtures to choose from:

Our first stop is at The Hawthorns, as West Brom welcome United in the lunchtime encounter. Paddy are offering long odds of 12/1 on Robin van Persie to score two or more and the visitors to keep a clean sheet. The Dutchman has scored in four of the last five Gameweeks since returning from injury and seems to have rediscovered his domestic eye for goal, whilst a run of five shut-outs in the last nine suggest David Moyes’ men could keep the Baggies at bay. With this in mind, we’re willing to shell out £3 of the weekend kitty.

We roll up to Selhurst Park next, where Southampton face a tricky task against hosts Crystal Palace. This time around, Paddy are prepared to offer 8/1 on an Adam Lallana goal and Saints clean sheet – it’s a bit of a punt, this one, but with Mauricio Pochettino’s side registering a shut-out in two of their last three road trips and Lallana notching three times in the last eight Gameweeks, we’re willing to shell out a further £3 on this one.

Our final £4 goes on Chelsea’s home game against Tottenham. Paddy are offering 9/2 on Eden Hazard to score and Jose Mourinho’s side to keep a clean sheet against their London neighbours. Given that eight of the Belgian’s 12 league strikes have arrived at the Bridge and the Blues have conceded just twice in the last six in front of their own supporters, we’re willing to hand over our remaining cash for the Saturday evening encounter.

West Brom's record against the top sides is pretty good this season but since they are playing United today I don't think they stand a chance.
