Having analysed those teams with Strong fixtures yesterday afternoon, we turn our attentions to those clubs with less fortunate schedules. Two of our featured sides may have a pair of home games this week but tough times still look likely as we assess what’s to follow over the next four-to-six Gameweeks:

Southampton

southampton311

The Saints face a trip to Tottenham this weekend at a time where many sides are bracing themselves for a pair of fixtures. Already, the likes of Jose Fonte, Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez have suffered significant sales as Fantasy managers part company with Mauricio Pochettino’s main assets in order to capitalise on the double Gameweek.

Southampton also pay visit to the Etihad in Gameweek 33 and travel to an improving Villa side a couple of weeks later. With a home clash against Everton also on their agenda over the next six, it leaves just a couple of favourable St Mary’s encounters against Newcastle and Cardiff – with other sides set for doubles in Gameweeks 34 and 37, the exodus is likely to pick up pace.

Arsenal

arsenal31

The Gunners’ title bid is set for a real test over the next few matches as they square up to three of the current top six over the upcoming three Gameweeks. A trip to Stamford Bridge is somewhat offset by the visit of Swansea for next week’s double but Arsene Wenger’s side then face City and Everton in back-to-back matches before the schedule take a real turn for the better in Gameweek 34.

Over the short-term, then, Fantasy managers may be somewhat cagey when it comes to investing in the north London club. Wojciech Szczesny, Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker face a challenging time to deliver the points, whilst Santi Cazorla and the erratic Olivier Giroud are likely to be overlooked for more consistent performers.

West Ham

wham31

One of only two sides to face a pair of home fixtures in double Gameweek 31, Big Sam’s troops welcome United and Hull to Upton Park with a an impressive record of just one goal conceded in the last three in front of their own fans. Certainly, the Tigers clash looks the most appealing of those two for owners of Adrian, though Allardyce’s decision to freshen up his backline saw James Collins drop out of last week’s 3-1 loss at Stoke.

A trip to Sunderland then precedes back-to-back games against title-challengers Liverpool and Arsenal – faith in Kevin Nolan could diminish over those matches, with the Hammers skipper perhaps sacrificed in midfield once the double is out of the way.

Be Wary Of…

Liverpool
A trip to Cardiff and home clash with Sunderland has understandably led to significant investment in Brendan Rodgers’ main men, with Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez carrying the hopes of many into the double Gameweek. After that, though, the Reds next three home games sees Spurs, City and Chelsea all roll up to Anfield – the latter two, in particular, could prove particularly testing for the free-scoring Merseysiders and will perhaps persuade Fantasy managers to carry one, or perhaps a maximum two players into that schedule. Rodgers’ side have the form to make a mockery of the fixture strength, though, with Suarez owners already eyeing up a Gameweek 35 trip to Norwich with anticipation, given his history against Chris Hughton’s side.

Newcastle
Similar to West Ham, the Magpies also play twice in front of their own fans next week. Palace and Everton both roll up to St James’ Park but Newcastle’s recent record without the injured Loic Remy is a real concern – they’ve failed to score in the last four games without the prolific Frenchman. Following the double, Alan Pardew’s side have tough trips to Southampton, Stoke and Arsenal and also entertain United, suggesting that points may be hard to come by at either end of the pitch.

Fulham
Felix Magath can breathe a sigh of relief after steering his side to their first three points since taking the helm last weekend but one look at the schedule suggest the Cottagers boss can quickly curb his enthusiasm. A trip to City this weekend is followed by games against Everton, Villa and Spurs in the subsequent four – few, if any, Fantasy managers will be backing Fulham over the run-in.

I think I'd start Bardsley as well... maybe even Azp. Collins seems a bit risky, cameos and whatnot. Big Sam isn't afraid to sub on a CB late-game.

Other than that looks great, loads of DGWers 😮

They need 100% at changeover time (early hours GMT) to rise in price. Some players collect way more than 100% net transfers in during the course of the day.
% resets once they rise in price.....hence the term "wasted transfers in" when people are trying to ride a price-rising bandwagon.
Ideal would be for players to just reach 100% on 3 consecutive nights for a 0.3 rise in the week - rather than hitting 150%, then 98% and then 150% two days later for 0.2 rise. (Roughly speaking)

    MANNONE / Boruc

BAINES Vlaar Olsson / Azpil Ward

MATA YAYA Hazard Snodgrass / Noone

    SUAREZ (c) LUKAKU JRod

    2.9 ITB

Obviously the easy move is Sturridge in by freeing funds in Mata. However I'm in a place of chasing AND leading different MLs. So would ideally like to skip this.

Anyone any ideas? So far my 'best' plan is Olsson, Snodgrass and JRod > Chester, Nolan and Jelavic / Long / Carroll for -8. Fancy a punt up top

Thinking Carroll/Jelavic up top too. Jelavic has 3 DGW to come so may be him? Hull have everything to play for as well. Would keep the Norwich players for now honestly. Good fixtures. Snodgrass has been chuggling along quite well recently, I would have kept him had I not needed money for my WC.

Is the final 8 GW's of the season the time to be talking hits and gamble a bit or do people still play it safe. I had only taken the odd 4 point hit here and there before last week when I got Aguero in early and had to take a 8 point hit to get him out - resulted in me getting Gerrard and Lukaku and getting a decent GW rank and went up in the rankings.

Obviously the double GW's people will be making hits but what about all the others?

Do you play it safe from now on or go all out?

    Should I keep...Evans & Mata
    OR
Take -8 to get Baines & a mid worth upto 6.9

I guess the question is, will Baines and say, The Ox,score 10 points more than Evans & Mata in the DGW?

Technically yes, but I can't see it - Liverpool are on a good run, have tightened up at the back and have nothing else to focus on except the league.

Now is the time to play the strongest team in every game as nobody can afford to drop any points so I would be amazed if he is left out at this stage for any reason not involving injury etc...

having watched Cissokho play he is no threat to Flanagan who has been impressive every time he has played. Cissokho is a squad player at best imo.

Enrique is a slightly different case but I still thinkFlanagan can hold his place and you should have at least one sub who can come in for him if he does miss a game between now and end of season. Keeper for me...

It's a con flip. He's not likely to exceed double figures for either game, and is a risk of not playing the full 180 minutes. but he's got a chance of scoring at least 1 goal and he's a cheap option that'll allow you to bulk up other positions.

On my WC atm, would love some help on my team.

    Currently stands as:

    Adrian
    Coleman Azpi Chester
    Hazard Yaya Silva Sissoko
    Lukaku RVP (c) Suarez (vc)

    Gazzaniga Sterling Baker Ward

Would prefer to keep RVP as chasing ML leader by 60 points. Unsure about Lukaku, thinking of Carroll/Jelavic/Giroud. To upgrade him, I would have to sell either Sissoko or Sterling to a 4.2 or something like that, which I do not mind. Am I right in thinking that having both Siss/Ster is useless as I don't have room for both of them to play?

I would seriously consider RVP-Sturridge and upgrading Sterling to Gerrard. Or you could well be chasing more than 60pts imho.

Thanks but no thanks. I just can not let RVP go. My team is also okay with him being there at the moment. The ML leader is a LFC fan and as such, has captained Suarez/Sturridge weekly despite having a rubbish team elsewhere some weeks whereas I been trying to be punty with my captain. Do not want to triple up on LFC.

Fair doos and good luck. I'd sell Siss so, play Sterling and have a punt on Carroll or Jelavic. Think Jelly has another double down the line somewhere.

If you believe his team is rubbish elsewhere I would say that is even more reason to get Sturridge in for RVP, Gerrard in for Sterling and (C) Suarez.

If you believe your team is better on the whole risking you (C) choice shouldn't be needed and can put you further behind.

I went for the tactic a while back of matching my ML leaders big players knowing that my other players were better than his and I would catch him soon enough. Gone from 80+ behind to 20 behind in not too many weeks. Play it safe and catch him with your other players. You will only fall further behind with RVP and especially (C) him imo.

Thanks for all the help guys. Want to punt on Carroll/Jelavic but just don't have the cajones right now.

You do have a point Reckoner, I've linked his team on the next page if you'd have a look? I have seen RVP play but if MUFC do score, which they should.... he most likely will get it. It's like Benteke at Villa last season, if someone scores for them, itd be him.

Sissoko to bench fodder like Colback (4.2 with a DGW down the line) and play Sterling this week? Leaves me 5.6 to upgrade Baker. Suggestions? Do not want a 2nd keeper.

Ki over Colback as Colback was dropped last game, the defender may be a Pool defender (Flanagan is a cheap option), or double up Everton with Distin ( another DGW down the line)
