Having analysed those teams with Strong fixtures yesterday afternoon, we turn our attentions to those clubs with less fortunate schedules. Two of our featured sides may have a pair of home games this week but tough times still look likely as we assess what’s to follow over the next four-to-six Gameweeks:

Southampton

southampton311

The Saints face a trip to Tottenham this weekend at a time where many sides are bracing themselves for a pair of fixtures. Already, the likes of Jose Fonte, Adam Lallana and Jay Rodriguez have suffered significant sales as Fantasy managers part company with Mauricio Pochettino’s main assets in order to capitalise on the double Gameweek.

Southampton also pay visit to the Etihad in Gameweek 33 and travel to an improving Villa side a couple of weeks later. With a home clash against Everton also on their agenda over the next six, it leaves just a couple of favourable St Mary’s encounters against Newcastle and Cardiff – with other sides set for doubles in Gameweeks 34 and 37, the exodus is likely to pick up pace.

Arsenal

arsenal31

The Gunners’ title bid is set for a real test over the next few matches as they square up to three of the current top six over the upcoming three Gameweeks. A trip to Stamford Bridge is somewhat offset by the visit of Swansea for next week’s double but Arsene Wenger’s side then face City and Everton in back-to-back matches before the schedule take a real turn for the better in Gameweek 34.

Over the short-term, then, Fantasy managers may be somewhat cagey when it comes to investing in the north London club. Wojciech Szczesny, Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker face a challenging time to deliver the points, whilst Santi Cazorla and the erratic Olivier Giroud are likely to be overlooked for more consistent performers.

West Ham

wham31

One of only two sides to face a pair of home fixtures in double Gameweek 31, Big Sam’s troops welcome United and Hull to Upton Park with a an impressive record of just one goal conceded in the last three in front of their own fans. Certainly, the Tigers clash looks the most appealing of those two for owners of Adrian, though Allardyce’s decision to freshen up his backline saw James Collins drop out of last week’s 3-1 loss at Stoke.

A trip to Sunderland then precedes back-to-back games against title-challengers Liverpool and Arsenal – faith in Kevin Nolan could diminish over those matches, with the Hammers skipper perhaps sacrificed in midfield once the double is out of the way.

Be Wary Of…

Liverpool
A trip to Cardiff and home clash with Sunderland has understandably led to significant investment in Brendan Rodgers’ main men, with Steven Gerrard, Daniel Sturridge and Luis Suarez carrying the hopes of many into the double Gameweek. After that, though, the Reds next three home games sees Spurs, City and Chelsea all roll up to Anfield – the latter two, in particular, could prove particularly testing for the free-scoring Merseysiders and will perhaps persuade Fantasy managers to carry one, or perhaps a maximum two players into that schedule. Rodgers’ side have the form to make a mockery of the fixture strength, though, with Suarez owners already eyeing up a Gameweek 35 trip to Norwich with anticipation, given his history against Chris Hughton’s side.

Newcastle
Similar to West Ham, the Magpies also play twice in front of their own fans next week. Palace and Everton both roll up to St James’ Park but Newcastle’s recent record without the injured Loic Remy is a real concern – they’ve failed to score in the last four games without the prolific Frenchman. Following the double, Alan Pardew’s side have tough trips to Southampton, Stoke and Arsenal and also entertain United, suggesting that points may be hard to come by at either end of the pitch.

Fulham
Felix Magath can breathe a sigh of relief after steering his side to their first three points since taking the helm last weekend but one look at the schedule suggest the Cottagers boss can quickly curb his enthusiasm. A trip to City this weekend is followed by games against Everton, Villa and Spurs in the subsequent four – few, if any, Fantasy managers will be backing Fulham over the run-in.

Essential cover for the DGW - my take on things....

Looking at the fixtures I think it makes sense to have the following if WCing:

3 EVE - 2 good DGWs and Fulham make up 3 of their next 4 GWs (3 from Baines, Coleman, Distin, Mirallas & Lukaku looks almost essential).

3 LIV - the leagues in form team with the best double backed up with a home fixture. Possibly look to lose 1-2 of them from GW33 onwards once fixtures stiffen. SAS and 1 of Gerrard, Sterling or a defender (Skrtel or Flannagan if needing to save funds) looks the way to go.

2 MCY - normally I would say maxing out with 3 is a no-brainier given 3 doubles to come, but with Aguero out and due back soon I think he perhaps warrants leaving a slot open. Yaya and Silva looking nailed on in my thinking. If you're happy to not plan for Aguero, perhaps a 3rd in Zaba, Nasri, or day I say it Kolarov....

2-3 SUN - 3 DGWs coming up and decent cover can be had very cheap (Manonne, Bardsley, Ki) and will serve as decent bench options if nothing else. AJ is also potentially a good option, although I personally think there are better options.

The rest is quite open for debate - NEW, HUL, WHU, ARS, MUN for their doubles.

      3 x Everton (Baines, Coleman & Lukaku)
      3 x Liverpool (Gerrard, Sturridge & Suarez)
      1 x Man City (Yaya)

selling Puncheon when he has a DGW in 34 seems mad, but

    a) his minutes seem to have dropped
    b) he's lost pens
    c) Noone is a cheaper 5th mid
    d) I can easily sell Nolan to a different GW34 DGWer who will play like Ince or a City mid

Not. He rotates with Coutinho depending on the fixture. He could start both, he could start just one. But I think still good to get as Liverpool are so attacking I'd take 30 mins off the bench...could easily get more shots on goal than other options in other teams.

Following the advice of people on the last page, I've come up with this for the run in:

    Adrian
    Coleman Chester Koscielny
    Hazard Yaya Silva Sterling
    Lukaku RVP (C) Suarez (vc)

    Gazzaniga Ki Azpi Baker

    Still tossing up between captaincies..

ML leader by 60 points had the following team last GW and has used his WC ages ago:

    Speroni
    Cahill Ivanovic Demel
    Hazard Yaya Lallana Eriksen
    Suarez Sturridge Giroud

    Springthorpe Sterling Smalling Chester

Only worry is Giroud and Lallana. Will he win the league this season? Will he have a better DGW than me?

He might shed Eriksen for DGW midfielder...and maybe get in an EVE or MCI defender for one of his CHE defenders or Smalling. If Smalling hadn't been injured he'd be nicely set!

In fact something like Smalling to Bardsley or Distin (if he has cash spare) would sort him out well and keep his CHE defence and other DGW (Chester, Yaya, Speroni) players for the run-in.

If you compare your differing players I would say your pretty even:

      Adrian - Speroni You

      Azpi - Ivanovic Him
      Koscielny - Cahill Even
      Coleman - Smalling You
      Baker - Demel Him

      Silva - Lallana You
Ki - Eriksen Him (doesn't matter as much, bench slot)

      RVP - Sturridge Him
      Lukaku - Giroud You

I would say match him with Sturridge as that is where you will lose the most and upgrade Sterling to Gerrard as that will gain you the most. Same points as I put before but that just my opinion on it.

Not so sure on Lukaku > Giroud...... I want to bring in Giroud as Arsenal will challenge all the way but I just have no money. Plus, Mourinho hasn't lost at the Bridge for many games. Also, I can not see LFC continuing their form and thus justify 3 of their players. I think I may have missed the ship on that one.

Thinking of playing Azpi instead of Sterling as Chelsea almost definitely wont lose at home and Arsenal have the best defence. Ie. a 0-0 draw. Not sure I'll go through with it though..

        Adrian

In fact I think many are going overboard getting 10/11. Some of the common SGW players will outscore a lot of poor DGW players I've seen in teams

Have seen a lot talking about benching Snodgrass and Hazard.
I'd also rather play JRod/Lambert away at Spurs than take a hit for players like Jelavic and Caroll, have seen many suggesting that.

Hazard has been involved in 23 goals in 30 games this season (13 goals and 10 assist).

    He's had 8 10+ GW scores.

I would be that all the mid priced DGW midfielders who are being suggested to play ahead of Hazard aren't even near to half of those numbers.

Yes he's up against a tougher defense this GW but the risk of Benching him far out ways the rewards.

10 DGWers + Hazard is perfect imo.

I would probably agree but will still be playing Hazard and benching Ivanvoic, as I say this risk out ways the reward.

Especially for me where my ML leader has Hazard but no Chelsea defense. Rather match him with Hazard and beat him elsewhere.

didnt someone post up stats that showed most of his points have come against lowly oppostion avging 7ish a game whereas against top teams he only averages 4.

i think i can live without him for one week seeing as its against one of the best defenses in the league (still cant believe i'm saying that when arsenal are concerned)

This run in to the end of the season often makes a mockery of previous form and fixtures, hunger, desperation and greed ruling the roost.

I have exactly this choice to make and am playing Haz.

Far more likely to score than Colback - and Colback didn't play last week.
      Can't find out why...
Got Colback in earlier to facilitate Aguero....bonus cheap non-playing mid nailed on for future DGWs....except he's suddenly not nailed on.

My thinking now is whether Ward will outscore a Colback DGW.....got to get bench order right.
