The Dugout Discussion – Saturday

As the dust settles at the Bridge, our attention now turns to the afternoon’s programme – a set of fixtures brimming with possibilities and points.

The latest assault by the “SAS” will come under major focus in Cardiff, as Brendan Rodgers unleashes his potent strike force on the Bluebird’s defence, with Fantasy managers expecting only one result – goals. Similarly, in the other Merseyside vs Wales clash, Everton begin their double Gameweek with a potentially profitable tie with the struggling Swans. Again, our expectations are high.

There’s also a goal avalanche warning emanating from Man City’s Etihad meeting with Fulham. While Sergio Aguero is absent, there’s been enough investment in David Silva this week to suggest that plenty of us are seeking instant returns from this one.

Hull take on West Brom, Newcastle host Palace and Sunderland make the trip to Norwich in what can be called “lesser encounters” which help to fill in the rest of the day’s double Gameweek scenario.

That all leads up to United’s tea-time rendezvous with the Hammers – a clash that’s been robbed of the talents of Robin van Persie and promises fire, brimstone and grimaces from the grizzled faces of Sam Allardyce and David Moyes. Best viewed from behind the sofa.

Our Twitter feed will present the latest from the day’s teamsheets while the door to our Dugout Discussion chatroom remains ajar for those seeking real-time responses as the action unfolds.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
