I see there are a few comments saying this DGW hasn't resulted in a serious improvement in rank mainly due to the DGW template. I'd say I have a DGW template and my rank has gone from 23k to 14k. I think that is a serious improvement.

    Adrian Mannone
    Baines Coleman Azpilicueta Dann Chester
    Silva Hazard Yaya AJ(6.5) Sterling(5.9)
    Suarez Sturridge Lukaku

2 FTs... AJ and Sterling are my only concern
    A) AJ + Sterling to Lallana + Mutch
    B) AJ to Mutch leaving enough cash for Chester to Demichelis next week
    C) Sterling to Mutch and do the Chester to Demichelis move next week by freeing up the 0.6 via Adrian to 3.9er

You live in the UK? So you do get this a lot there too. I thought it was only a minority but here in SEA, we have tonnes! In a way, I think it's just the perfect timing to filter out those gloryhunters.

What about those who want Moyes out? They are just a bunch of classless fans with no difference to those I mentioned in the original post.

I don't know, you could argue 'real' fans have the right to criticise their team and management. Perhaps they feel they are doing long term good by kicking up a fuss now to put pressure on the board to sack Moyes. To them that will be a good thing for United.

They do have the right but no matter what, I don't think that's the standard of attitude set by the club that fans should behave this way when we lose our form and then say glory to United when we win again. And all in all, it's unfair to United to be treated this way.

I agree and I certainly don't condone the behaviour. I think they should respect the club and what they are trying to achieve. The best support is the support which backs the team no matter what. Positivity will always trump negativity.

Arguably, the Board will be more concerned with the floating fans. Merchandise, TV money and sponsors are where the money is. Fewer 'fans' will see a downturn in revenue from these sources.

There is a degree of truth in that. That said, it's just disappointing to hear my fellow fans supporting the very same club aren't giving any support.

If this is the case, then they were very naive when they appointed Moyes on a 6 year contract backing him for the long term. In order to keep the floating fans then you'd need instant and regular success. Mourinho would have bought this but it seems the Board wanted to take a different approach.

Perhaps they can get away with being a bandwagoner because their family might not support a particular football club and they aren't really accountable to anyone. The lack of football culture probably breeds glory hunters.

Its similar here in New Zealand. In fact my generation (Y) are probably the ones to hop on board the 'EPL bandwagon' and support a club. It all started in the late 90's as you say, particularly with United fans. Chelsea and Arsenal had a good run in the early 2000's as well.

4:00am eh? Sounds like you're in Asia. I wouldn't lump all United fans in with some of the kind over here who just got into footie recently. No offence to any Asian footie fans intended, but there are a lot of bandwagoners over here.

None taken and I second that.

There is indeed a lot of bandwagoners out here in South East Asia but I have definitely met a few who only started following football recently (by recent I mean 2000) supporting Chelsea and they have been very supportive over the years through the sacking stage.

Hauled a decent 11 points on the weekend, though rested for the game against Newcastle. Rotation risk for sure, I'm unsure if I should hold on to him or flick.

We've all been in this situation. The problem is if he does start, and score, do you still have the balls to assume he will be dropped again the next week, or do you keep?

It can be a vicious cycle! I say if a player isn't guaranteed starts, shift him straight away.

Currently at 154 points with 5 players to go, so very happy about that. But i have one problem, no Hazard. Can i manage the rest of the season without him?

    Mannone - Gazzinga

    Chester - Baines - Coleman - Bruce - Bardsley

    Yaya - Silva - Nasri - Gerrard - Ki

    Lukaku - Suarez - Sturridge

What to do with this team? 1 ft and 1.1m in the bank. I want to wait until after gw 34 before letting any City or Everton players go. And i kinda want to get rid of Gerrard at some point, and either get Hazard in, or a couple of Chelsea defenders. Help needed!

Im not looking at Tottenham. At least no until after gw 34 (unless you have 6 Everton/City players), might reconsider after that. By that time we will know more about Eriksens place in the team and if he is able to maintain his current form.

Already got Baines, Coleman, Lukaku from Everton + Yaya, Kolarov from City.

I will stick with Kolarov. I have shifted to 4-3-3. If he doesn't play, I get points from the bench. That way, I make more points than some premium def + poor mid / premium mid + poor def.

Funds in place for Sturridge > Aguero when he returns.
Things seem to be under control. Yaya and Hazard are now permanent till end of season.

However, I don't like the fixtures of Nolan after GW32. A "nailed-on" Eriksen will take care of my midfield. I can concentrate on maximizing points at defence + forward, using the FTs.

I don't know. Its relative I suppose. Not so far ahead of everyone else. I am aiming to beat 200 points this week, and have Suarez (c), Sturridge, Gerrard, Chester, Mannone to play. If Suarez goes wild it can be done.

My jump was decent also, but this season for me is 2 steps forward, one step back, often the other way round, so its steady progress. I'm just dissapointed I'm back where I was a few weeks ago, if I hadn't made silly mistakes these last weeks I would have a much higher rank.

Also, some of the hits I made didn't pay off. Got rid of Lallana and Mata for Gerrard and Silva. If Gerrard does something tonight it will be somewhat justified, of not I will be wishing I had stuck will Lallana since I will want him back

Finally, getting Aguero early burned me. Cost me two transfers, we effectively the 8 point hit I took. I would be 8 points better off if I had waited, and thus my rank better.

I hear you, Aguero stuffed me up as well and I consider myself lucky to come back from that with a good score this week. So far my one regret was getting AJ, especially knowing full well at the time that he probably wouldn't do much. Its just that I had the exact amount of cash and there weren't many good alternatives.

People are talking about selling Nolan halfway through his DGW. Here's what is going to happen:

Nolan has a terrible game, and then in the 90th minute he mishits the ball 2mph, it hits a stray balloon which has been thrown onto the pitch, wrongfoots the keeper, and dribbles over the goal line, relying on the referee's watch to be given...

    Result: Nolan 5+2+1+3 = 11 points in a 1-0 win.

    Watch these boards:

"I am buying Nolan for -4, good transfer?"
    "Oh yes, he is essential!"

Yes, guys, what I am saying is we are all fickle and results orientated!

Home games against Newcastle, Cardiff, Everton with trips to Villa and Swansea in the next 6. I'll be keeping him for the rest of the season just cuz he has to do well to get into the England squad for the WC and I think he will outscore Nolan quite easily over the rest of the season.

Unless Gerrard gets booked tonight, I will save my FT this week. If he gets booked, I may do Gerrard to Nasri ahead of DGW34 (have Yaya).

Assuming no change, who do I bench?

    A) Snodgrass
    B) Mirallas
    C) Gerrard

Techniques to make people agree with you on FFS:

    1. If someone disagrees, check their rank. If it is low, abuse them. Example:

"Yeah, thanks for the opinion. Oh and, nice rank. NOT. "

    2. Make ridiculous choices which lead to the inevitable correct answer. Example:

    A - Captain Hazard
    B - Captain Noone
B - Trade my child for magic mushrooms

    3. Invent a 'rival', preferably in a 'money league'. If necessary elaborate. Example:

Should I sell suarez for crouch?

The thing is, my rival is 4 points behind me, we have identical teams except I have suarez and he has crouch. We have a bet for this month only and it is for 400 million dollars. This is the last week of the bet. I don't care about anything else except this bet. Oh and I am terminally ill and will use the proceeds to support my family before I die next week.

Any more techniques? Please feel free to add!

        Yeah.

About my rank. It is all because of a rival in a money league. And stuff.

Not singling anyone out in particular (Moin) but now we're at the back end of the season with all (or nothing) to play for, do you put your personal rules and rivalries aside?

Will you pick the players who will get you the most points?

Or do you still stubbornly refuse to bring in Yaya, will simply not touch a CHE player or detest the thought of Suarez in your team?

No matter how well he does I will never bring Ben Arfa in again, but that's a bit different as Barfa is useless. 😀
