Last week’s runaway winner of the Captain Poll, Luis Suarez delivered yet again with 25 points accrued over Liverpool’s pair of fixtures against Cardiff and Sunderland. The Uruguayan was usurped by Yaya Toure, though, with the City midfielder ending Gameweek 31 as the top scoring player on 31 points – surprisingly, in spite of his outstanding season, you have to go all the way back to Gameweek 17 to find the last time Suarez finished top-scoring player in any round of matches:

Once again, we analyse the armband options on offer in our weekly members article. Taking the top five in this week’s Captain Poll (Suarez, Wayne Rooney, Eden Hazard, Toure and Romelu Lukaku) as our starting point, we construct a members table based around a number of their key statistics in order to flag up any other players offering a similar sort of threat.

      Agger, Suarez or Sturridge

      Suarez has taken them for Uruguay and done alright (though has missed 2/2 for Liverpool)
      Agger takes them for Denmark and scores every time it seems.
      Sturridge seemed like second choice pen taker, but missed one earlier in the season, so perhaps not.

    I've learnt that basically, get the big, set piece taker, good striker of the ball guaranteed to play every game midfielder of every team. Then leave them there. And the tempting players who get massive hauls will likely disappear for a bit.

    This may be the most interesting GW for a while, at least in that there will probably be some diversity in captain choices. There are many decent but no outstanding option. Suarez and Sturridge seem equally appealing choices to me this time, Lukaku against Fulham might appeal those who have not been too many times burned by Captain Disappointing, and Hazard and Rooney must also be in the mix.

    I'm pretty indecisive at the moment. Very difficult pick.

    Hmm, I've come to a conclusion regarding GW34:

    SGW players I quite want to play are: Koscielny (WHM), Hazard (swa), Suarez, Sturridge (both MCI)
    This leaves me a maximum of 7 DGWers if I do this of which I already have 5:
    Mannone, Coleman, Dann, Yaya, Puncheon

    And 3 FTs to use before GW34 should leave me with no problem.

    Jelavic to Lukaku, Cazorla to Nasri allow me to sort that perfectly: 2 City, 2 Everton, 2 Palace, 1 Sunderland. Somehow this just doesn't feel like enough. (And would still mean benching one of Gerrard or Hazard who could both easily outscore Puncheon)

    So many decisions, and only 7 free transfers before the end of the season!
    I'm going to have to make my own decision on this, but it'll probably have to be decided this week so I can do Cazorla to somebody.

    Does anyone else still have that useless lump Cazorla?

          Ive held onto Punch for ages, not had much luck with 5th mids this season, but once I knew he had a double it felt like there was no point dropping him at least
