Luis Suarez grabs a goal and assist as Liverpool hammer Spurs at Anfield. Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard deliver rare blanks in the 4-0 rout as Raheem Sterling returns to the starting XI in a switch back to 4-3-3. Elsewhere, Everton’s bench players plunder the points as Romelu Lukaku falters and Ross Barkley limps off at Fulham:

Lukaku Blanks Under Weight of Expectation
The frontman’s season-long stint on Merseyside continues to be blighted by a streak of inconsistency. Lukaku has been poised for Fantasy greatness on a few occasions, only to fall short of expectations, and yesterday was no exception. With promising fixtures and proven pedigree, over 350,000 Fantasy managers have acquired the Belgian’s services since his return to action in Gameweek 28 – so a blank in an open game at basement-dwellers Fulham may feel like another example of non-conformity. While he continues to frustrate, knee-jerkers – looking to sell out of frustration – could be brutally punished if they turn their backs, though; in spite of his Craven Cottage disappointment, Lukaku boasts three goals, an assist and five bonus points in his last five appearances ahead of Everton’s double Gameweek 34.

Martinez’ Midfield Rotation Policy Pays Off Again
There’s a selection headache brewing for Roberto Martinez. The Everton manager retained the same starting XI that tore Newcastle apart in midweek, with the rejuvenated Ross Barkley playing between Leon Osman and Gerard Deulofeu in an attacking trio behind Lukaku. The two wide men had registered a goal and a pair of assists respectively in their previous outing, but with neither able to produce against a resilient Fulham, Martinez rang the changes, introducing Kevin Mirallas and Aiden McGeady to the wings from the bench after Steven Naismith had replaced the injured Barkley at half time. With all three subs producing attacking returns, Martinez’s squad could become a source of frustration for Fantasy managers looking to invest in Everton’s attack for their upcoming double.

Barkley’s 20% of FPL owners now eagerly await further update on the calf complaint that forced him off the break – over 92,000 snapped him up prior to last weekend’s deadline after he delivered 20 points over double Gameweek 31 but they could already be looking for a way out, depending on the prognosis.

Dejagah Offers Optimism as Faltering Fulham Edging Toward the Drop
Yesterday’s home loss left Fulham five points adrift of safety with just six games left to play, having played one more than 17th-placed West Brom. Relegation looms over the west London club, whose Fantasy assets remain off the radar, but a ray of light comes in the form of the fixture list. Felix Magath’s side still have to face Villa, Norwich, Hull and Palace before the final curtain, placing them high on our season ticker. Having recovered from a muscle injury to take his place as a second-half sub for yesterday’s match, Ashkan Dejagah struck for the third time in five appearances – the 4.9-priced midfielder has now notched three of his side’s last five goals and, if he can prove his fitness, looks vital over the final six matches.

Sturridge Outshone by Suarez as Rodgers Reverts to 4-3-3
Fantasy juggernaut Luis Suarez once again took centre stage at Anfield, despite Brendan Rodgers’ decision to switch back to a 4-3-3 with strike partner Daniel Sturridge leading the line. The formation had previously seen the England international go toe-to-toe with Suarez and come out on top upon his return from injury between Gameweek 21-27 but Suarez was in unstoppable form once more as he battled his way through a disjointed Tottenham defence to notch a landmark 29th league goal of the season, while Sturridge’s blank in the 4-0 rout means he has scored in two of the last five matches. Rodgers’ decision to move away from a midfield diamond afforded Raheem Sterling his second start in the last five and, whilst the young English talent was named ‘Man of the Match’ after his scintillating display, Fantasy owners were left with a three-point return. Clearly, the winger still has a part to play in the Merseysiders’ title tilt but with City and Chelsea in the next four, many may decide to part company, in spite of yesterday’s promising showing.

Tightrope Affecting Gerrard’s Game Time
The Reds skipper was subbed off in the 70th minute yesterday with his side cruising at 3-0 up. Clearly, with Gerrard sitting on nine yellows, his manager felt no need to tempt fate and hauled him off early. The midfielder has now safely navigated games against Sunderland and Spurs without falling fall of the referee’s wrath but he still has to avoid yellows against West Ham and Man City in his next pair of matches – earn a caution in either of those and he’s facing a two-match ban.

Spurs Blunted as Adebayor Misses Out Again
With Emanuel Adebayor absent for the second game in succession due to injury, Spurs looked to Roberto Soldado to lead the line, but the Spaniard was largely ineffective and Tim Sherwood’s side failed to threaten and was forced off with a hamstring problem late on. The 4-0 defeat was Tottenham’s third consecutive blank on the road, though on the up side, the upcoming schedule suggests Tim Sherwood’s men have a strong opportunity to regain some form through the final six Gameweeks. Their remaining schedule (SUN, wba, FUL, sto, whm, AVL) is ranked second on our season ticker – if fit, Adebayor will surely join Christian Eriksen as a potential Fantasy target in light of such a run.

Nice work with the Evra > Ward autosub.

Would look to get Nolan out, and possibly Evra too, his minutes may be a little more limited now. Maybe a Chelsea defender, but lack of seemed to be a good move this weekend.

In preparation for GW34 thinking of Adrian > Harper this week and then Mata > AJ and Sturridge > Aguero. Adrian > Harper purely as I have 2 FTs and not really sure what else to do. Want to keep Mata for the Newcastle game and can't afford to upgrade anywhere.

    Would give me...

    Boruc (Harper)
    Cahill Coleman Ward (Azpi Chester)
    Silva Yaya AJ Hazard (Puncheon)
    Suarez Lukaku Aguero

Torn on whether I'd start Hazard or Puncheon in this hypothetical scenario. Probably keep as above.

Look two down, I'm in the same situation. 2FTs and nothing that pops out, so considering a GK downgrade.

Your plan is similar to mine, teams as well. I think it's a good way to go, also enables you to wait until next GW to make a decision on Aguero or no Aguero.

That was another part of my thought process, means I haven't then got a huge amount of cash sitting about for a GW waiting until whether Aguero stays in one piece or not.

Think your steps look good too, I thought I'd go for Harper just so that I know I have a playing keeper (assuming McGregor is out until the end of the season now). Only looking to make a transfer so that I don't waste one.

Yeah, I could go for Harper is McGregs is out and I can afford him. Will have to check the finances, but I think with Harper it's 0.0M in the bank if I do Silva & Sturr -> Nasri & Aguero. A little too close for comfort maybe.

Yeah, gives no cushion at all. I've just had a play and can get Aguero, Suarez and Rooney frontline without damaging the rest of my team. Unfortunately any price changes wont allow this, but does look like that front line is possible.

            Harper Boruc
            Coleman Cahill Azpi Ward Chester

Anything obvious jump out here? Best I can come up with is either:

    A) Nolan & Gerrard -> Hazard & Ki (leaves enough cash for Sturridge -> Aguero in GW34)

    B) Nolan & Sturridge -> Hazard & Dzeko, or

    C) Distin, Nolan & Gerrard -> Ward/Vlaar, Eriksen & Hazard (4 points)

Hey. 2FTs, 0.4M in the bank. What are my possible options here, really? I'm thinking Adrian -> 3.9M to free up cash for potential Aguero-swap. Could always move Noone (4.1), but seems a bit of a waste as I'm only going to end up spending more...

Liquidating the funds tied up in Adrian sounds like a decent idea.

Who would you lose for Kun, though? I'm preparing myself mentally to drop Studge but it's going to hurt! It's so difficult because after the DGW I'd much rather have Studge than Lukaku. But dropping Lukaku ahead of a DGW seems insane.

Silva & Sturridge -> Nasri & Aguero with my 2FTs. Easy with the cash from Adrian. If Aguero isn't fit, I'll just hold onto Silva and relax 🙂

Lukaku -> Sturr/Rooney after GW. Depends a bit on LFC formation as well, they played 4-3-3 this weekend, that makes dropping Sturr scarier.

Going with Silva, Aguero, and Yaya from GW34 onwards if Aguero gets minutes vs Southampton.

I think there's good value in their defence and I'd like Zabaleta but going balls deep with their attack given the fixtures and state of the top of the table!

Human rights issues in Qatar were well documented before the World Cup allocation. The construction business there is booming and this kind of practice is, sadly, commonplace.

This just highlights it even more but, in a perverse way, the attention may help in some cases.

However, I fear that the World Cup circus will come and go then people will just forget.

I think this is a huge opportunity for 'the west' to send a huge message to any nations like this that human rights are our top ideological priority. It would be a much better way to make that point than military interventions.

Unfortunately, we won't do that because human rights aren't our top priority - money is.

Not wanting to make this too heavy for FFS but:

Russia held an illegal vote in Crimea and asked "Do you want to be part of the good old USSR Mother Russia?" whilst making wild promises and ignoring he wishes of all other residents. Of course a majority of people said yes so Russia just stole the country from under them

The US didn't want or keep Iraq, they just wanted to ensure that they had access to the natural resources in the region.

Two different strategies with two different goals and also two different results.

Russia do a land-grab whilst convincing the people that it's what they want (low casualty level).

Hey Geezers could use some input here.
1)What do you honestly think of Michu for the remainder of the season?..him or Eriksen the better prospect?...

2)Is Lallana a necessity now?Sold him for Gerrard in GW 31.

3)Mutch worthy of being played as a 4th mid now?

I know its a lot of questions but would appreciate any help

    Cheers

I like the idea of Michu, purely as he's not selected by many. Eriksen has tempted me all season but I've held off for one reason or another. Think I would punt on Michu.

Not a necessity, but would be nice to have, think I'll be looking to get him in for Hazard while trying to free funds for Suarez, Rooney and Aguero.

Last 4 GWs would suggest so, been playing superbly, decent fixtures and great form, definitely something to consider.

      1) I'm staying clear of both. Michu is a great player and good thing he isn't selected by many, don't fancy Eriksen. Wish Michu was 7.4, then I could afford to consider.

      2) I wouldn't say he's a must have, but not many players offers what he does at that price.

      3) Sure looks that way.
