Luis Suarez grabs a goal and assist as Liverpool hammer Spurs at Anfield. Daniel Sturridge and Steven Gerrard deliver rare blanks in the 4-0 rout as Raheem Sterling returns to the starting XI in a switch back to 4-3-3. Elsewhere, Everton’s bench players plunder the points as Romelu Lukaku falters and Ross Barkley limps off at Fulham:

Lukaku Blanks Under Weight of Expectation
The frontman’s season-long stint on Merseyside continues to be blighted by a streak of inconsistency. Lukaku has been poised for Fantasy greatness on a few occasions, only to fall short of expectations, and yesterday was no exception. With promising fixtures and proven pedigree, over 350,000 Fantasy managers have acquired the Belgian’s services since his return to action in Gameweek 28 – so a blank in an open game at basement-dwellers Fulham may feel like another example of non-conformity. While he continues to frustrate, knee-jerkers – looking to sell out of frustration – could be brutally punished if they turn their backs, though; in spite of his Craven Cottage disappointment, Lukaku boasts three goals, an assist and five bonus points in his last five appearances ahead of Everton’s double Gameweek 34.

Martinez’ Midfield Rotation Policy Pays Off Again
There’s a selection headache brewing for Roberto Martinez. The Everton manager retained the same starting XI that tore Newcastle apart in midweek, with the rejuvenated Ross Barkley playing between Leon Osman and Gerard Deulofeu in an attacking trio behind Lukaku. The two wide men had registered a goal and a pair of assists respectively in their previous outing, but with neither able to produce against a resilient Fulham, Martinez rang the changes, introducing Kevin Mirallas and Aiden McGeady to the wings from the bench after Steven Naismith had replaced the injured Barkley at half time. With all three subs producing attacking returns, Martinez’s squad could become a source of frustration for Fantasy managers looking to invest in Everton’s attack for their upcoming double.

Barkley’s 20% of FPL owners now eagerly await further update on the calf complaint that forced him off the break – over 92,000 snapped him up prior to last weekend’s deadline after he delivered 20 points over double Gameweek 31 but they could already be looking for a way out, depending on the prognosis.

Dejagah Offers Optimism as Faltering Fulham Edging Toward the Drop
Yesterday’s home loss left Fulham five points adrift of safety with just six games left to play, having played one more than 17th-placed West Brom. Relegation looms over the west London club, whose Fantasy assets remain off the radar, but a ray of light comes in the form of the fixture list. Felix Magath’s side still have to face Villa, Norwich, Hull and Palace before the final curtain, placing them high on our season ticker. Having recovered from a muscle injury to take his place as a second-half sub for yesterday’s match, Ashkan Dejagah struck for the third time in five appearances – the 4.9-priced midfielder has now notched three of his side’s last five goals and, if he can prove his fitness, looks vital over the final six matches.

Sturridge Outshone by Suarez as Rodgers Reverts to 4-3-3
Fantasy juggernaut Luis Suarez once again took centre stage at Anfield, despite Brendan Rodgers’ decision to switch back to a 4-3-3 with strike partner Daniel Sturridge leading the line. The formation had previously seen the England international go toe-to-toe with Suarez and come out on top upon his return from injury between Gameweek 21-27 but Suarez was in unstoppable form once more as he battled his way through a disjointed Tottenham defence to notch a landmark 29th league goal of the season, while Sturridge’s blank in the 4-0 rout means he has scored in two of the last five matches. Rodgers’ decision to move away from a midfield diamond afforded Raheem Sterling his second start in the last five and, whilst the young English talent was named ‘Man of the Match’ after his scintillating display, Fantasy owners were left with a three-point return. Clearly, the winger still has a part to play in the Merseysiders’ title tilt but with City and Chelsea in the next four, many may decide to part company, in spite of yesterday’s promising showing.

Tightrope Affecting Gerrard’s Game Time
The Reds skipper was subbed off in the 70th minute yesterday with his side cruising at 3-0 up. Clearly, with Gerrard sitting on nine yellows, his manager felt no need to tempt fate and hauled him off early. The midfielder has now safely navigated games against Sunderland and Spurs without falling fall of the referee’s wrath but he still has to avoid yellows against West Ham and Man City in his next pair of matches – earn a caution in either of those and he’s facing a two-match ban.

Spurs Blunted as Adebayor Misses Out Again
With Emanuel Adebayor absent for the second game in succession due to injury, Spurs looked to Roberto Soldado to lead the line, but the Spaniard was largely ineffective and Tim Sherwood’s side failed to threaten and was forced off with a hamstring problem late on. The 4-0 defeat was Tottenham’s third consecutive blank on the road, though on the up side, the upcoming schedule suggests Tim Sherwood’s men have a strong opportunity to regain some form through the final six Gameweeks. Their remaining schedule (SUN, wba, FUL, sto, whm, AVL) is ranked second on our season ticker – if fit, Adebayor will surely join Christian Eriksen as a potential Fantasy target in light of such a run.

What a dreadful week, and I'm relying on Mannone, Bardsley and Nolan to bail me out... A 0-0 draw will get me up around the 50-point mark, which is probably the best I can hope for.

I'd take 50 points in a heartbeat. Need points from AJ and/or Mannone for that to happen though.

Yep, I'm relying on Mannone too, but Nolan instead of AJ. Frustrating given all the progress I'd made last week with a 168-point wildcard.

Wish I'd kept just one of my Southampton players now...

Mannone stil has 2 dgw in which he will be my playing keeper. I don't mind for the other fixtures.
I am selling Adrian to a 3.9 keeper to free up some funds for later moves: Studge to Aguero, Lukaku to Rooney...

Slight risk...but not too bad. Mannone really racks up the save pts and bonus when games are tough. He's the only gk I'd consider going solo for this season.

Yes indeed a risk if Mannone gets a red card or an injury. But I need the money to build up my team for the upcoming DGW (34 & 37). Some cash will be handy to have SAR in attack

With Gerrard having avoided that yellow, seems like i might as well keep him for one more week...

means i've got a freebie transfer (that'd i'll lose if i dont use) this week.

    Chopping board:
McCartney -fixtures are a bit 'meh'
Mirallas - gametime a pain, altho might as well wait until after double
Noone - seems to get 1 game in 2 -but no-one else at that price really?

think McCartney is probably the one to go:
    4m to spend...any suggestions?

Regarding Aguero, City have an early kick off 12:45 so if you follow the right people on twitter etc you would be able to know if he was in the squad or maybe even starting, it'd be a risk trusting a source but sometimes they are right!

I read that too. Could be right, it seems like they were just extra cautious this time round in not rushing him back so his first game back might just be a start! but on the other hand Dzeko is playing well enough and it is a home game so they can probably afford to have Aguero on the bench

              Hi Lads,

Am I looking ok for this week:

              Mannone
              Baines - Vlaar - Azpi
              Silva - Gerrard - Mata - Lallana
              Suarez - Dzeko - Lukaku

              Adrian - Sterling - Burner - Shaw

              2 Questions:

1 - Play Mannone or Adrian? (currently on Mannone for slightly better chance of CS, and probable save points)

2 - Thinking of using my transfer for Sterling ---> Mutch, would then bench Lallana. Next week would then be Mata ---> Toure or similar.

" If you do not use this saved free transfer in the following Gameweek, it will be carried over until you do. You can never have more than 1 saved transfer."

So, I have 2 FTs this week. If I dont use any this week, I will still have 2 FTs in GW34. If I do 2 transfers in GW34, will I have two in GW35?

The point I'm trying to make is: you never really use a FT, because you didnt use it two consecutive weeks. Is this correct? a bit confused

I already have Gerrard and Silva but am considering swapping Gerrard for Lallana. Gerrard is a big game player though, they could easily get a penalty against Chelsea or City

Exactly, this is what I'm weighing up. Luckily I kept Lallana and Mutch so my midfield is otherwise very strong. Cheers Rozzo.

Thanks to a sub-2 million rank this week my careful planning and execution of my wildcard has been blown apart. I have 2 FTs for next week, how should I use them?

              Mannone (Adrian)
Zabaleta / Coleman / Chester (Bardsley / Dummett)
Gerrard / Yaya / Hazard / Nolan (Colback)
              Suarez / Sturridge / Dzeko

This week: Nolan > Eriksen - 3 very favourable games upcoming & save the other FT for DGW34

Next week: Gerrard > Mirallas (likely to play with Barkley injured) and Sturridge > Lukaku.

              Thoughts?

Not so sure that Barkley injury has a significant barring on Mirallas game time. Naismith looks to be playing the No 10 Role behind Lukkaku. Def/Mcgeady/Osman/Mirallas will all share game time.

I own Mirallas and I sort of wish i didnt

OK. Just wondering best route into Everton midfield, but it seems like a bit of a lottery at present. Trouble is with the DGW steering clear altogether just doesn't feel like an option.

Rumours that he's leaving end of the season so Buttner might just take over from now till the end and then they try to buy whoever Coentrao, Shaw etc in the summer

Who are the best mids outside of City / Liv / Chelsea?

Mata? Has a blank but could be worth it after 34.
Caz? Arsenal look shockingly out of form.
                Mirallas? Rotated.
                Eriksen? Unpredictable and possibly rotated.
Michu? Coming back from injury, was poor early in the season, could be a good differential.

Is Mata really the best outside the top 3?

Hazard surely but other than that I prefer Caz. Arsenal will finish the season strong. I'd keep an eye on Ozil too when he comes back. He can't be far away from returning.

Barkley being out improves Mirallas' chances but even when Barkley was injured I'm sure Mirallas was still benched a few times so it wouldn't make him nailed on- He's still competing with Deul, Osman, McGeady, Naismith. If you already have him keep till after the DGW

                    Which goalie?
Marshall home to Palace, or Mannone away at Spurs?

fairly sure he missed swansea due to this tweet scandal, 1 game punishment makes sense with an old school manager like pulis.
then the sunderland benching made sense as the match before he pretty much gave away the winning goal for southampton. another 1 game punishment of sorts, now looks fine again. his place to lose right now i think

Who are your (rest of the) season keepers....and why?

Hazard Yaya & Suarez - too dangerous to drop
Chester - cheap and playing and DGW
Noone - cheap, any upgrade would use precious funds needed for Aguero and will be 3rd bench.

I agree things can change, but with only 6 transfers left....thats 9 players to "keep" assuming no hits. Think it woudl take an injury or massive slump in form to get rid of Suarez & yaya, but Hazard might go to bring back in Gerrard after DGW.

Chester & Noone really can't see how or why I would change them. Chester and mannone will likely be the only players I've had all season.

Gerrard -> AJ (allowing Studge -> Aguero next week if fit) madness or good planning?

                    I'm leaning towards the former...

If we do get CL we'll be in the 4th pot won't we?

You'd think so. Not much Europa activity in a while.

I'm sorry, wasn't meant as a dig really. I think LFC have been amazing this season and as much as I hate to admit it I'm a big fan of Rodgers.

Yeah tough group guaranteed, but imagine the experience it'll be for so many of your players facing those squads.
