Chelsea midfielder Ramires is banned for four matches after accepting an FA charge of violent conduct. Sylvain Distin joins Phil Jagielka on the sidelines for Everton’s visit to St Mary’s. Moussa Sissoko has returned to training for Newcastle, Michu is out of Swansea’s game with Villa, whilst Gareth McAuley faces a late fitness test ahead of the Baggies’ encounter with West Ham:

Chelsea will be without midfielder Ramires for the top-of-the-table clash with Liverpool. The Brazilian has accepted an FA charge of violent conduct for an off-the-ball incident against Sunderland and will now miss the rest of the season. Meanwhile reports suggest Eden Hazard will not be fit for the Anfield clash, though the winger is on course to return for the vital Champions League semi-final second leg against Atletico Madrid in midweek.

Ryan Giggs has revealed Rafael and Robin Van Persie are still sidelined for United, though everyone else is fit.

Arsene Wenger has confirmed Thomas Vermaelen could return for Arsenal’s home clash with Newcastle. Kieran Gibbs remains out, whilst Abou Diaby is back on the injury list after picking up a groin injury during an outing for the club’s under 21 side earlier in the week.

Morgan Schneiderlin has been ruled out for Southampton’s home encounter against Everton after picking up “a last minute problem”, whilst youngster Harrison Reed is struggling with illness.

Roberto Martinez has ruled Sylvain Distin out of the weekend trip to Southampton, with the defender failing to recover from the hamstring injury that forced him off against United last week. Elsewhere, the Toffees has confirmed Phil Jagielka is also still out, whilst on-loan striker Lacina Traore is unlikely to be fit enough to play again this season.

Newcastle have been boosted by the return to training of Moussa Sissoko this week, with Alan Pardew suggesting that the midfielder “has got a chance” of featuring against Arsenal. On-loan forward Luuk de Jong remains a doubt with an ankle problem.

Norwich boss Neil Adams has confirmed that Joseph Yobo will miss the trip to Old Trafford, as the on-loan defender undergoes further treatment on a calf injury. Elliot Bennett though, is back in the squad following a knee problem, with Adams also reporting no fresh injury concerns.

Michu will miss Swansea’s vital clash with Villa through injury, though Garry Monk remains hopeful that the midfielder will return to play some part before the end of the season.

Aston Villa’s Joe Bennett is Paul Lambert’s only concern ahead of the trip to Swansea, with the defender nursing an ankle injury. Villa will also welcome back Nicklas Helenius into the squad, with the summer signing now fully fit, having overcome a recent thigh problem.

Pepe Mel has revealed that Gareth McAuley has failed to train after missing Monday’s defeat at the Etihad with a calf complaint. The Baggies’ boss has confirmed that the centre-half will face a late fitness test to ascertain his availability for the game against West Ham this weekend.

The Hammers themselves are expected to be without Matt Taylor this weekend. Sam Allardyce admitted he doesn’t think the midfielder will be available due to personal reasons.

All this and more is being updated as the day progresses in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

A lot of people think Man U are suddenly going to start beating teams 5-0 or something.
    I can't see it myself.

It won't be 5-0 but if they go all out attack it might be 5-4 🙂

Most people on here are brain dead.

A team sacks a manager, a fans favourite takes over for a few games, they will win every game 10-0 & win the league.

Not exactly, but I think they'll at least get a few (it's Norwich playing away from home) and Rooney is the sort of player who thrives on this kind of game.

Man U have lost quite a few at home this season.
A home game at Old Trafford isn't a nailed on win, like in previous seasons.

There are a lot of Man Utd fans out there or people so used to them winning. They have been the most talked about team on here i reckon. A lot of people cant accept they are crap.

Moyes didnt help but the quality of the players is what is wrong, Giggs wont change that. I certainly wont be getting an injured Rooney into my team.

Not had a United player since week 7 and i have got to 2k rank.

Just have to get used to Rooney this Mata that.

Think Tony Pulis wants to finish above Stoke imo. So don't think Palace will be complacent. Think they might even take points off city. (if yaya isn't involved)

Also the thought of Giggs taking away points from Rooney if a penalty is given lurking in my head currently

Is Phil Jones considered a pretty sure starter? Is it crazy to consider a hit this week for him?

Was one of the moves I was considering. Worried Man U will try to end the season under Giggs in a blaze of attacking glory and try to outs core teams Liverpool style. Can't see them managing it but can't see the sitting back under Giggs!

They've only conceded multiple goals 5 times all season, once since GW15 (this week). Both previous times came in pairs (New and WBA in GW10/11, Sun and Stoke in GW14/15)

          That's freaky. 😯

So damn tight at the top of my ML.

This transfer could well be season defining!

Was going to go for a DGW defender but maybe Kos or someone else will out score those options over 3 weeks?!...

I need to do Distin> anyone, any price for -4.

Current defence: Boruc, Adrian, Cahill, Ward, Chester, Collins, Distin.

    A) Play Cahill, Chester, Ward

    Or

    B) Play Distins replacement over Cahill... But who?

    Cheers guys! All views welcome!

    Who would you go with?

Fergie on RVP getting hit on the head with a football: "he could have killed him"!!!

Fergie on Smalling or Jones (cant remember): "he could be Utd's best ever player".

I think the time was right for him to quit.

Keegan was always good for a stupid quote:

"If I had a blank piece of paper there'd be five names on it."

"England have the best fans in the world, and Scotland's fans are second to none."

"They're the second best team in the world and there's no higher praise than that."

"You can't do better than go away from home and get a draw."

"The tide is very much in our court now."

"Football's always easier when you've got the ball."

"If I had a blank piece of paper there would be at least two names on it."

"There'll be no siestas in Madrid tonight."

"It's like a toaster, the ref's shirt pocket. Every time there's a tackle, up pops a yellow card."

"When you do that with footballers, like he said about Leeds... I've kept really quiet, but I'll tell you something, he went down in my estimation when he said that. We have not resorted to that, but I'll tell you, you can tell him now, he'll be watching this, we're still fighting for this title. He's got to go yo Middlesbrough and get something. I'll tell you honestly, I would love it if we beat them, love it."

None of you know this one but.

During a game in world cup inthe 90's , Cameroon did less then great this game.

The swedish commentator in his head analyzed how they could change the way the game was going and decided to say what he had come up with.

"Things are looking dark on cameroons bench" came out, of course he just ment, not much there ut the headlines were of course pointing out rasicm

The defence is perhaps likely to remain intact, though Phil Bardsley returns after serving out his two-match ban and could displace Santiago Vergini at right-back.

OK, this might be insane but fortune favours the brave. How about this:

    Lallana to Ramsey
    Dzeko to Rooney
Salah to Delph (for cash and DGW)
Coleman to Smalling (I'm keeping Baines)

    for a -16 hit?
