Our penultimate attempt to get the better of Paddy sees us turn to an in-form midfielder and forward who both brace themselves for home comforts this weekend. We also call upon a certain Belgian wide man, as Chelsea look to bounce back from their midweek Champions League exit and keep their title ambitions alive:

We start off on Saturday afternoon, where Man United prepare for the visit of relegation-threatened Sunderland. Paddy are offering 9/2 on Juan Mata to score and for United to register a clean sheet against Gus Poyet’s in-form side – considering that the Spaniard has scored five times in his last four appearances and that the Red Devils served up a first home clean sheet since January in Ryan Giggs’ first match at the helm, we’re willing to hand over £3 of our kitty.

Next up, we cross the border to Wales as Swansea prepare for a home encounter with Southampton. Paddy are ready to offer 25/1 on Wilfried Bony to bag a brace or more and for Garry Monk’s side to keep out the Saints. We expect a party atmosphere at the Liberty after the Swans sealed their survival last week and Bony is likely to be in the thick of the action again – having notched twice in each of his last two appearances, the Ivorian’s recent form persuades up to part with another £3.

Our final game is Sunday afternoon’s showdown at Stamford Bridge, where Chelsea take on struggling Norwich. Paddy are dangling 3/1 on Eden Hazard to score and for the Blues to keep out the Canaries. With Jose Mourinho looking for a win to keep his side in the title race, the fit-again Belgian could well get amongst the goals in his first start since Gameweek 33, whilst Chelsea’s outstanding defensive record will be firmly backed to keep out Neil Adams’ side and register an eighteenth clean sheet of the season. We make this our bet of the week, then, and hand Paddy our remaining £4.

I am currently 25 points behind my ML rival. He has taken an 8 point hit this week (which makes the difference 17 points as things stand), and one of the players he brought has to be Rooney. The other two could be (just plain guessing here) Alonso and AJ.

My rivals (probable) team this week:

    Szczezny
    Alonso Ivanovic Flanagan
    Yaya Eriksen Sterling AJ
    Rooney Suarez Aguero

    Boruc Januzaj Stones Ward

My team this week (before transfers):

    Mannone
    Ivanovic Koscielny Pieters
    Nasri Ramsey Eriksen AJ
    Rooney Suarez Aguero

    Adrian Shaw Olsson Pieters

    1 FT, 1.4 itb

I have no idea what to do. I'm tempted to gamble on Rooney to be out, but feel like playing it 'safe' with just one transfer could be the best idea. I feel like my differentials could outscore his by enough to get within reach in the last gameweek.

My 3 main options atm are:

    A) Just do Shaw > Zabaleta/Demichelis for free
    B) Rooney, AJ/Eriksen & Shaw > Dzeko, Mata & Evra (-8)
    C) Rooney, AJ/Eriksen & Shaw > Wickham, Yaya & Evra (-8)

What do you lot reckon the best thing to do is? Any other suggestions than the ones I have mentioned? I know this is a long post, so any feedback would be highly appreciated!

yaya slightly less appealing with silva playing plus hell prob go off early thus lessening his pen appeal when kun hauled off
          Mata wont play 180
they could both score well of course but i prefer the 8 pt handicap headstart

What's changed since Giggs said "Wayne being Wayne, he'll want to play" ?

That is the only reason why I am keeping him for now. Several sources have ruled him out of today's game!

Which sources do you find credible because almost all have said Rooney will miss today's game?

these sites mostly copy each other...just some bloke in his bedroom...a newspaper at least quoting "a source" would be good...I can't find one myself

ok, I think it makes sense to keep Rooney

    team:
    Speroni - Davis
    Baines - Ivan - Cahill - Ward - Chester
    Mata - Nasri - Eriksen - Ramsey - Noone
    Podolski - Rooney - Aguero

and do Davis + Baines + Noone > Mannone + Evra + Yaya for -8..first sub Eriksen if Rooney doesn't play..

Ok, 35 points to make on the leader so I need to gamble.

Do i drop Rooney/Januzaj/Lallana for Giroud/Hazard/Ramsey and hope Rooney doesn't feature.

    or

Switch Rooney for Van Persie and make him captain

I don't know what the rest of your team is but I don't like those transfers much. I'm unsure how much part Haz will play after midweek comments and Giroud/Ramsey both single week players

If you see value in bringing in Evra for a hit should you also be bringing in Wickham?

    Coleman to Azpi

    Ward to Vlaar (benching Coleman)

    Either worth a -4?

Okay I'm at his house, wait he's seen me!

So I'm running, but he's not catching up with me, appears to be holding his groin and blowing his nose simultaneously.

      I've lost him.

      Hope that clears it up.
