With so many of you seeking advice on their teams before August 16, we thought it would prudent to run a daily community article to provide a dedicated focus for “Rate My Team” (RMT) requests.

Each day ahead of the new season, we’ll select one of the Fantasy Football Scout team and post up their own RMT request to open up discussion and encourage others to post their own. We’ll turn the comments over to you to provide a useful place for those seeking advice and highlight some of the key decisions under deliberation.

Please nudge those posting RMTs in other articles to visit this daily RMT article. Also, when posting requests, please remember to be courteous to those who take the time to help out. Equally, if you’re an experienced Fantasy manager with some views on initial line-ups, take time out to dip in and contribute – the Fantasy Football Scout team will be doing their upmost to offer their feedback as the discussion develops throughout the day.

Nothing in the bank.

He is aware that at the back he is relying heavily on clean sheets at Newcastle and West Brom. Any advice on improving his back-line would be appreciated. Also, is he right to opt for the expensive Daniel Sturridge? Will a lack of Arsenal cover come back to bite him?

Expect City to score loads of goals despite their fixtures.

  Looks solid, if you're worried about the chance of Chelsea performing you have the sideways trade of Silva to Fabregas. If Bavies gets the LB role, Vert to Bavies means you could have Hazard over Silva, which wouldn't be the worse thing 😛

  Two cheapies in midfield and Kompany are the ones that look odd. City attack is great, but defensively with those fixtures....

  You may like the rest of it, but will you like the transfers needed or heavens forbid the early wildcard needed to get a defence that plays every week.
  
  Don't be tempted by all those big names in mid & att, start by getting a defence that you won't need to change in a hurry. Then you can spend transfers on the attacking players to chase the bandwagons and form players.

    Weak defences are not alright. Defenders get a lot more points these days, so neglecting them is a bad idea. I was left behind badly at the start of last season by those that spent more in defence that I did.

My comments.
1. For Pelle, I wanted to put Dzeko or Joetivic - but Pelle is promising based on his stats and affordable.
2. I trust Sturridge - you can't say that he isn't going to play well bc Suarez is gone. Plus Liverpool is going to get a top striker anyday now (cavani, lavazzi rumors)
3. I am open to change the defensive line and/or Mutch and/or Nasri with alternatives.

  You could get Dzeko/Jovetic by getting Costa over Suarez, but I understand how you feel about Sturridge. Nasri to Eriksen, Mutch to Siggy. Be aware that if Liverpool get another striker who doesn't play the number 9 role like Suarez, then Sturridge will get more competition....food for thought 🙂

    TM, I am ok with this template attack, we both know they all are hovering near the top of the watchlist.

        after seeing hoilett playing up top and bagging a brace playing in the hole, his 5.0 price seems like a possible bargain. Then I looked at how well QPR rotate with Palace. Restructured. What do you think of this....

The chances of your first team being "perfect" when using a 1 week sample of GW returns are literally infinitesimally small. For this reason, its team structure that is important to respond to early bandwagons and build team value into the wildcard.

Im going with a number of punts who I think will have a strong GW1/2/3

Am starting the season with
Jovetic (0.5m cheaper than Bony/Dzeko/Giroud);
Young (0.5m cheaper than Hendo/Siggy)
Sterling (0.5m cheaper than Mata/Cesc but conversely 0.5m more than Eriksen/Lamela)

Given the price differential to "template" options who will be stronger over the season I've kept 0.5m cash in reserve to make necessary bandwagon adjustments in wk2/3.

okay so

clyne,vlaar,janmaat,coulker,jones(jones is safe other for rotation playing 4 def most of the time)
matic,hazard,ramsey,eriksen.mata(matic on bench swapping where needs to be swapped)
jovetic,rooney,bojan(bojan on bench in case jovetic doesnt play)

So im happy with ability to rotate have some doubts on gk(would get de gea but i already have 3 manutd players.
could swap bojan and jovetic for dzeko and some crappy striker but i have some hopes that jovetic is going to score but ill see after cs about that.

  Looks very solid. Like the Rosenior punt. Not sold on Luis, but I'm sure I'll be proven wrong. Albrighton under an injury cloud so maybe try and settle for a 5m option. Forwards and mids are solid, defence seems pretty good. Keep an eye on Mariappa for now, he's not completely nailed on.

  Rotation nightmare with that front 8. Downgrade Snoddy or Arnie to a cheap midfielder and then upgrade the other one to Ramsey/Sterling/Silva. Lot of money in that defence too, but the side seems solid.

Do I go for the all round better team or a better strike force?

Is it good to have fabregas and hazard on the same team? Or should I swap Fabregas for Mata?

De Gea (Krul)

Lovren - Koscielny - Cameron - (Vlaar & Bruce)

Sanchez - Fabregas - Hazard - Hoilett - (Albrighton)

Or

  Downgrade Sanchez to Ramsey then Fabregas to Eriksen and upgrade that defence. Krul to De Gea, Vlaar to Pieters, Cameron to Wisdom, Ferdinand to Caulker. Honestly probably too much money in that midfield, and it's hurting your defence.

Jovetic. Dzeko, Lukaku (When Aguero/Negredo come back I will swap Jot, Dzek, as needed - or should I reduce risk and use Dzeko and replace Jot.

  Team A: DDG over Migs, Siggy over Hendo, Pieters over Luis, Caulker over Ferdinand, Ward over Skrtl, use the rest of the cash as you see fit.
  
  Team B: Sturridge to Costa, Pelle to Dzeko, that midfield needs work, not sure what you should do there though.

Hey guys, I've done none of my own research & am incapable of clicking the *Preseason* tab so can you please:

RMT, again?
(I mean I have changed one midfielder since I last posted it 17 minutes ago but, I had to repost it because it *got lost* on the bottom of the last page)

Tell me who the best £4.5mil mid is?

Provide me with a 2way rotation spread sheet?

Give me a rundown of every starting line-up from the weekend's friendlies & what the sub patterns mean to my team specifically?

Give me an opinion on two equally priced players who by season's end will wind up within 10pts of each other? (Note: Whoever you suggest will be wrong but, thanks for nothing ahead of time.)

Let me know if *I'm crazy* for taking a *punt* on some irrelevant fantasy prospect from a soon to be relegated side?

Oh yeah last thing, & even though I could pull up the ownership %'s on the official FPL site; how many of you are going for that guy, from that team, who's sorta marginal & might pay off but, probably won't, because I want to justify taking him / not taking him from only three people's comments here in the DZ?

  Nugent - Some say he might not be a regular starter because of new signings

  I like the Nugent pick, but his first 6 GW are madness. Change him for Bojan or Fletcher and bring him in later. Consider Isgrove instead of Wanyama. Your DEF needs changes. Why Johnson? Pool don't keep many clean sheets.

  Mannone/Speroni - Worst possible keeper combination, Both are under threat from Pantilimon/Hennessay. Get goalies that are nailed on
  
  Targett - Won't start because of Bertrand
  Terry - Getting old and likely to be rotated (probably worth the risk perhaps)
  Gibbs - Injury prone, rotation with Monreal
  Cameron - Rotation at best, Bardsley likely to be first choice
  Noble - Doesn't offer anything, just penalties. Fixtures are awful
  Herrera - Plays too deep to be of any use. Won't score many goals and will only chip in on the odd assist.
  De Jong - Unproven in the premier league, its another punt probably not worth taking
  Austin - QPR aren't too good at scoring goals, last season is testament to that. Remy might have a negative impact on his game time as well.
  Sturridge - Injury waiting to happen, too expensive, Sterling provides much better value

  Mannone should start, Cameron is far from nailed.
  Noble is cheaper Gerrard, De Jong may not start GW1 & Herrera isn't great for FPL. Would rather Young than either N or H. Not including Targett.
  
  Only 1 hitter in midfield atm.

        You can't have Henderson AND Sterling in your mid. Go for Sterling. Downgrade Coleman, he is injured and probably won't start. Get rid of Barkley, get either Ashley Young or Siggy. That should have given you funds to replace Henderson by Sterling. 30 mil on your DEF is too much. Upgrade Remy or Bojan.

        Much better. I would downgrade Shaw to a 5.5 ManU DEF and upgrade Shelvey to Siggy. The 1st week both Siggy and Puncheon have tough away games, so you might bring in Ashley Young and change him after GW1 unless he scores a couple of goals...

  10 on GKs seems excessive.
  Clyne is 0.5 cheaper. Lukaku a fitness doubt for GW1. Campbell isn't great for 5.5
  Pay 0.5 for Baines over Kompany or get a Chelsea defender.

  I'd be concerned about your strikers. Bojan isn't nailed on apparently but if he keeps his form up he soon will be. Not sure Remy will start straight away for QPR, not sure he'd be any good there anyway.

      That would be a good start. I'd also downgrade Barkley to a budget option, Everton have terrible fixtures. Try and get Costa up front if you can. Have a tinker.

  As to your question, its really up to you whether you can afford it. Costa would be great but how much does that leave you with? Ideally Davis for 5m would be a solid option in midfield.
