There are lots more important things, but depending on how things work out, I may end up losing .1 or even .2. That's nothing to sneeze at when I could have easily prevented it by going with an obscure 4.5 striker.

If he has a good game you won't have wasted a FT. If he doesn't then you'll still have the option of downgrading to Siggy and using the cash elsewhere.
