Rojo is a little overrated, he's not an upgrade from Jones or Shaw, in fact he's not on the same level as them and he's probably a minor upgrade only from Evans. United needs a world class CB, someone like Hummels who could actually solve some of United's problems at the back and unfortunately that someone is not Rojo. Also, 20 million euros for him is a lot of money.
Open Controls-
I'm sure every team would like a "world class" player at every position but it's not that easy. Rojo could be brilliant in a couple years. Probably will be.
Open Controls -
Evans is our best CB. And no we don't. We need a world class CM and a proper holding CM.
Ugh. So sick of this.Open Controls-
United need a more experienced leader than Evans at the back. A good defender, not a great organiser of the defence. A quality defensive midfielder can't organise the back 4/5. Get Vlaaar.
Open Controls
-
-
They might be settling for Mexes. Dear God. A team that had centre backs of the quality, at their peak, of Stam, Vidic, Blanc, Ferdinand, Pallister, Bruce are settling for Philippe Mexes ? Something wrong there.
Open Controls-
Our CBs are criminally underrated due to our apparently criminally overrated CM.
Open Controls-
They're good centre backs, but only Evans has regularly played at CB. Smalling intermittently at CB or FB and Jones in those two positions and DM. United need a leader of their defence, a John Terry type who'll bollick them and put them in line.
Open Controls-
To be fair I really like Jones at RB. Smalling's chopping and changing back and forth from RB to CB by Fergie/Moyes was bizarre. He's a destroyer CB and nothing else. And a very good one I might add.
And while I would like a proper leader, who would that be? I'd honestly rather see Blackett get the runout right now. More potential than any of our defenders.Open Controls

If he isn't an upgrade Jones then how on earth is he an upgrade on Evans? 😆
Main thing is that he is an upgrade on Smalling, really.Open Controls -
Its not so easy to get hummel.

I hope my posts are helping - I'm in a giving mood! 😀

Didn't take long 🙂Open Controls-
We'll be after you if we make a couple more signings. You've still not addressed your weaknesses.
Open Controls-
😆
Open Controls -
Man United will need more than a couple more signings. Especially when they missed out on every decent player they've gone for so far.
Open Controls-
If we get a couple of CM and you don't watch your arse.
Open Controls-
Vidal and Kroos? 😆
Open Controls-
Please keep laughing. Will only make it sweeter later.
Open Controls-
You're more deluded than Arsenal fans were 2-3 years ago.
What CM's are you expecting to sign?Open Controls-
That's impossible. You like everyone else don't realize just how dire our CM is. Southampton's is better. By some distance.

Been away camping in Wales, first chance to really check out the weekends football events. Have to be reasonably happy with 79 points
Like to thank all those whose logic led to me keeping Siggi and ignoring Young.
Will update blog soonOpen Controls-
Great score

Evening folks.
Anyone done any early knee-jerk transfers?
Trying to squeeze in Sterling myself. Not sure if I should wait a game though, but he could always do well vs City...Open Controls-
Young to Siggy. I had to take hit but glad I did.
Open Controls -
Yaya>Fab. Want Sterling bad but can't ignore the Fabwagon for now.
Open Controls-
Yaya out, ffs haha. You paid 11M for him yet one game changes your entire pre-season thoughts. 😆
Open Controls-
He looked unfit and more interested in playing for a big money PSG move than for Man City.
Open Controls-
It's as if you haven't watched him play. Last season 95% of his matches he did nothing and then popped up with a FK or screamer of a goal.
Open Controls-
No, it's like you didn't watch him play yesterday.
Open Controls-
Well I did, while he was average he didn't do much less than last season minus the goal he always managed. Enjoy your knee-jerk, it'll get you 500K+ like last season. 🙂

Im still not really tempted by Sterling. If Man u had bad fixtures i might bring in for Mata, but not sure it can be justified at the moment. More of a luxury transfer
Open Controls -
Sterling is the only player I want and I can fit him in easy with a FT. But the midfield I have atm don't warrant being sold at this time. Eriksen heads the list of those I would sell, but with QPR at home I don't think I can do it
Open Controls
-
-
Can we expect Aguero to start the next game? And pretty much every game from now on?
Open Controls -
A genuine question to Mata owners (I am one) who are advising people to hold on to him. Is this based on-
A. Fantasy football tactics and experience ie saving transfers, jerking knees, points hits
B. Actual analysis of how Man U played on Saturday
C. The vain hope that if you keep saying it others wont transfer him out and might avoid a price fall and it makes you feel more justified in your decision to keep him.
I watched the whole of the Man U game. They were woeful.
-------------------------------------de Gea-----------------------------------------
-------------------------Blackett Smalling Jones-----------------------
----Young------------------- Fletcher------Herrera -------------------- Lingard
------------------------------------Mata----------------------------------------
----------------------------Hernández Rooney---------------------------
Next week Lingard maybe out? Janzai / Valencia in? Evans may be back?
Look at that team, it is not good. There will be moments of individual brilliance from Rooney, Mata and RVP but as an actual team it is poor.
During the game the defense were disorganized, not knowing who to pick up. The system of 3 center back works well when there are 2 up front for the opposition, 2 mark and one sweeps. When the opposition plays only one up front 3 at the back is a waste, it creates indecision over who has responsibility. The 3 centre backs did not get round to cover the wing backs. Herrera was bullied out the game by Shelvey! Young cant defend. There is a distinct lack of creativity in the middle and when Man U had possession they would get slowly into the Swansea half and then looked ponderous. Van Gaal has played this system all pre season but had such little confidence in it/ the players that after 45 mins he went to 4-4-2. He himself has come out and said that this team is not good enough.
Anyway this is not pure Man U bashing, really want to know about advice given on here, the A,B,C above. I have a little experience of fantasy league but have played and coached at ok levels, not sure if my ‘real’ football thoughts helps with the fantasy game?Open Controls-
Wow sorry, that came out longer than expected. Wish i put this much though and effort into my work that i am currently ignoring! Hope the DZ did well this week
Open Controls -
You're right. United were shocking. Nervous. Mata stays for a week because of fixtures. He is their main playmaker and even though he had a bad game we all know he's quality and very capable of getting something vs Sunderland. So he stays. Otherwise it's knee jerking for Raheem.
Open Controls-
Hes staying for me too for one week, if they look like that again hes gone. He may be world class but if surrounded/ relying on those poor players around him he will obviously be affected.
Open Controls-
Yes. One more week for me and if United are poor again I'll get Fab or Sterling or SIlva depending on how though go again this GW. I haven't got time to wait for United to turn it around regardless of fixtures and I haven't got time to miss out on a firing Fab, Sterling or SIlva.
Open Controls
-
-
-
Mata ain't no mug. He's a proven FPL powerhouse. He's playing in his favourite position in behind two of the best strikers in the league. With the fixtures ahead, it's hard to see him failing.
Open Controls-
Cheers Willis, agree with your thought on Mata,Rooney and RVP. With Fletcher, Herrara, Young, Valencia, Clevery, Fellani etc behind them im worried they wont get the ball
Open Controls
-
-
For some strange reason I've tripled up on ManU, with Jones, Mata and Rooney. The fact is Man United will win the majority of the following fixtures, van Gaal won't have it any other way. And if ManUnited are going to win games, Mata and Rooney will be at the forefront, so that's my thinking, anyway their fixtures are too good to miss.
Open Controls-
Rooney stays regardless.
Open Controls -
Cheers Ben, i too have Mata and Rooney. When you say Man U will win the majority of their fixtures, this is the A,B,C part of my post. Do think this because of what you saw on the pitch or hope because you have their players ? Dont get me wrong, with Mata and Rooney in my team i hope you are right!
Open Controls-
Honestly, it is a mixture, but it leans more so towards what I saw on the pitch. Mata had numerous chances throughout the game, and whipped in countless corners and crosses, it's just that it didn't work out for him that game. He is ultimately a quality player and has proved that over the last three seasons, so I think that was an isolated incident. Man United are going to win the majority of their next fixtures, it's almost fact, as I've said, it's almost inconceivable they're not going to. And again, Mata is the linchpin of their attack, if they score, he's typically involved. So I'm keeping him for the first 6 gameweeks, his quality will shine through, his last three seasons are unlikely to be flukes are they?
Open Controls-
Cheers for response Ben, i will be patient with Mata but will be watching this weeks game closly
Open Controls
-
-

Im keeping Mata because I am a strong beliecer in fixtures and since Silva and Sterling's immediate fixtures are not good I will stick with Mata. Also I have Ramsey and Hazard so no point in doing Mata to fabs. Ill reasses the situation by gwk5 and decide whether to keep Mata or get silva or get sterling.

What r the Jovetic owners doing ? Stick or Twist ? Any good fwds for 8.5m ?
Open Controls-
Tempted to twist.
Am going to wait until see lineup for tottenhams euro game. If Soldado stsrts in that then think i will bepring Adebyour in, its either him or BonyOpen Controls-
Bony is a beast and playing burnley. You know what will happen.
Open Controls
-
I'll have to keep this week. Shipping for Aguero next week
Open Controls -
I'd save 2.5m and go with Shane Long, looked good against Liv and Sou have some pretty decent fixtures coming up. Provided that he gets playing time.
Open Controls
-
-
Dzeko nailed ? Any better option of similar price range ?
Open Controls-
Dzeko is nailed. Bony
Open Controls
-
-
What to do with jovetic? Keep for one more week?
Open Controls -
what happened to Naylor ? he came of after 52 mins why?
Open Controls-
He was on a yellow and playing shite.
Open Controls
-
-
keep mata or go with silva or fab?
Open Controls -
So people got a plan for aguero yet? I did mata to siggy for the cash. Just gonna skim a mil next week and get aguero for -4 I think
Open Controls-
Too early to be planning for aguero imo
Open Controls -
12m. I just can't find that sort of money. My back five is all 4m.
Open Controls -
Got him on a wildcard, might leave for Sturridge at the mo though and shave 0.5 off one of my defenders to do Aguero when i'm more confident of his starts.
Open Controls -
Nice, hoping he's not too popular 😉
Open Controls-
He could be a big point differential until everyone gets on board. Fitting him in now will require hits and WC. Imagine if he hits another two at the weekend? Chaos.
Open Controls
-
-
Glad to say I had a plan for Aguero all along as I went for Cahill, Jones and Debuchy. Will downgrade one of them to 4.0 and get aguero in by gamweek 6, just waiting to see who to sacrifice of rooney and costa. Hopefully he doesnt get injured by gameweek 6
Open Controls

Hi guys, just a quick question, do most of you start your best players regardless of their fixtures?
E.g.
Would you sub Lovren for a $4.0 defender this coming GW?
ThanksOpen Controls-
yes
Open Controls -
Depends who the 4m defender is and who he's up against I suppose.
Open Controls -
depends on the players. Some are fixture proof. Liverpool defence is probably not. I'd probably play Hutton over Lovren this gw but not the other 4.0's
Open Controls

I'm worried about not having Fabregas. But the only way to get him without a hit would be to transfer out Mata/Ramsey, both of which I want to keep.
What would you do? (team linked)Open Controls-
Just stick if you have faith in Mata. I think there's not much between them at this stage
Open Controls -
Well, if you wants straight swap Ramsey had tough fixtures and ozil is back.
If you want to be radical then albrighton us Sturridge to fabregas and pelle/long/fletcherOpen Controls-
Us=plus
Open Controls -
Cheers, not keen on either at the moment tbh. Something to think about...
Open Controls-
Ye I know non too appealing
Just in caseOpen Controls
-
-
"and Ozil is back"
So?Open Controls-
So it might force Ramsey a bit deeper
Open Controls-
🙄
Open Controls-
You are boringly predictable. Shall ignore from now on.
Open Controls-
Look at Ramsey's record/stats when Ozil was there last season. He plays as a box-to-box mid and nothing changes that. Not Ozil, not Walcott and Sanchez won't either. I think you are a bit miffed that you've not really had anything to say back to any of my arguments today. It's OK 🙂
Open Controls
-
-

People get way too hung up on starting positions. Ramsey will always make runs into the box and get forward, regardless of his base position. Football is dynamic.
Open Controls-
+1

Same, I also could transfer out Hazard which I want to keep as well. Feeling he will do good in next game.
I would keep Ramsey for sure, and Mata has better fixtures..
I would keep it like this.Open Controls

-
whos everyone going as captain
Open Controls-
Rooney, I think. Torn between him and Costa.
Open Controls-
Same. Leaning towards Costa
Open Controls
-
-
Costa I think
Open Controls -
-
You saw enough out of him today?
Open Controls-
He was class. Did everything but get on the scoresheet. Should be a nice differential as well.
Open Controls-
Happy to hear that as a Hazard owner 🙂 so no reason to swap him for Fabregas?
Open Controls -
Did everything but have a shot and get on the scoresheet*
Open Controls

Have a rough idea but my transfer(s) is likely to be:
A) Straight swap Jovetic > Ade/ Bony. Still 343
B) Jovetic + Marney > Sterling + Vaz Te (bench fodder) Swap to 352
Thoughts?Open Controls-
Definitely A
Open Controls-
Cheers. So Ignore Sterling you think? Could be great value compared to a 8.5 striker..

Here is a question?
Not having seen the Chelsea game..
4am where I am..
Was there enough in Fabregas' performance to suggest he may not be worth a risk to switch out Mata for example?
Was he impressive overall as a Fantasy asset.. Just like the old days?
Will he be likely rotated as Mourinho hinted many of the players would be?Open Controls-
Get out of United whilst they "adjust" and pile into Chelsea who are on song.
Open Controls
-
Did anyone watch the Chelsea game and have any thoughts on Hazard and Fabregas? I have Hazard, should I be worried?
Open Controls -
I'm in a really strange place after this week where I'm happy with my team even though I didn't have a particularly good week (59 pts).
Willing to give Eriksen another week with QPR next even though I'd be missing the Siggy bandwagon. Tempted to ship Mata, but the ManU fixtures are too good, and I planned to have these guys for at least a few weeks to gauge form.
Defense is solid too, no non-starters, fixtures are good. It's just it's such fine margins between picking an 'alright' player and a 'hot player'.Open Controls-
I'm also very comfortable with my team after 58 points. It's more about the prospects going forward. I'm very happy to have Eriksen too
Open Controls -
Same here, and I only had 53 points for the week. Green arrows await
Open Controls

Morning DZ. How did everyone do? Sorry to gloat but I got 79 points this week which leaves me just outside the top 5k for my highest ever rank 🙂 Bring on GW2!

Who has the better chances to start for spurs when vertongen is fit, dier or kaboul?
Open Controls -
Begovic to Lloris or Mignolet for a hit?
Really doubting my Beg/4.0 decision and my back line is worrying with Terry. Chambers. Rio. Bartley. BruceOpen Controls -
I'm praying Lamela gets more space to play against QPR.
In pre-season he seemed to be most effective when making runs behind defences, but he seemed unable to do that against the Hammer's deep back line and a man down. His passing and general decision making was poor as well. It's worrying, but he has so much potential for QPR[h].
Anyone with him as well? The thought of switching to Tadic has crossed my mind...Open Controls -
is Lamela nailed on these days? and do you think he would outscore young over next few weeks?
Open Controls -
Ramsey to Fabregas?
