Siem de Jong is available for Newcastle’s trip to Aston Villa. Antonio Valencia and Jonny Evans join Robin van Persie in returning to full training for United. Mikel Arteta is ruled out of Arsenal’s trip to Everton. Marc Albrighton could return for Leicester’s clash with Chelsea at the Bridge, whilst Palace and West Ham have doubts in defence as the pair prepare to square up at Selhurst Park.

Newcastle have been boosted by the return of Siem de Jong from injury, with Alan Pardew confirming that the summer signing will be in the squad to face Aston Villa. Meanwhile, Cheick Tiote is will miss out once more with a hamstring injury, though Pardew has revealed that the midfielder has started running outside, as he works towards taking part in full training.

Manchester United could welcome back Antonio Valencia for the trip to Wearside, with the winger having returned to training this week. Reports confirm both Jonny Evans and Robin van Persie were also back in full training yesterday.

Arsene Wenger has conceded that Mikel Arteta will miss the weekend clash with ex-club Everton, after the midfielder sprained his ankle in midweek. Wenger also suggested that he “will check” whether the German contingent of Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Lukas Podolski are available for selection ahead of the trip to Goodison Park.

James Tomkins has added to Sam Allardyce’s concerns at the back, with the central defender a doubt to face Crystal Palace after missing the opener due to injury.

Crystal Palace’s caretaker boss Keith Millen could be without Scott Dann for the weekend, with the defender rated as having an outside chance to face West Ham. Dann will undergo further assessment today, though the Eagles boss could welcome back Adrian Mariappa to the squad after injury. Jonny Williams is fit again and available for selection, whilst Jerome Thomas could also be in contention to feature.

Nigel Pearson is hopeful that Jamie Vardy and Marc Albrighton will be in the squad to face Chelsea, with the pair taking part in full training during the week. However midfielders Danny Drinkwater and Matty James look set to miss the trip to Stamford Bridge through injury, though Pearson suggests the duo “aren’t far away” from a return.

Saints boss Ronald Koeman has revealed that Gaston Ramirez will miss the weekend visit of West Brom with a groin injury. Koeman will also assess the fitness of new defender Florin Gardos before deciding whether or not to include him in the squad to face the Baggies – the centre-half missed out last weekend due to a hamstring problem.

West Brom boss Alan Irvine has confirmed every player aside from Joleon Lescott finished full training yesterday, with the likes of Gareth McAuley and James Morrison returning to action after missing the home draw against Sunderland last time around.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

Who are people captaining? would you go for fabregas or Costa? Fabregas never looked like scoring against burnley...

Also im tipping villa for an easy clean sheet. So im thinking of bringing in hutton for a hit. Will his price rise before or after GW2? hes on 63% now.

got the exact same problem, i think villa gona get a Clean sheet therefore will probably win, but thats just a hunch based on newcstl game against city, in which they never looked likely to score.

Manone got UTD at home. however with van persie back, evans and maybe valencia its a real tough one. surely united gonna score.

You gonna keep true to the rotation or play the fixture?

the whole frontline for newcastle is new. i dont think theyre playing tactically together that well think they might need another week or so to get going. maybe a set piece might see them score.

New season, new mentality, roy keane influence might be a more resilient villa this season.

Actually Newcastle did play decent against City but they were unlucky not to hit the target. City was clearly better finishers.
United however is debatable. If Mata is the same as last game, Rooney and RVP wont get enough of the ball. I am confused. I will go with fixture this time and see.

Ive got another question, its for everyone really, when you have players from the same fixture but from opposing teams, e.g. Manone - rooney. Do you tend to go for full potential reward and bench the weaker team's player if ones score probably affects the other? what if your second goalie has a harder game than manone?

If say its Swansea vs chelsea so Siggy vs Cahill(terry or courtois or ivanovic)? would you bench siggy if you have another option in midfield but not so good?

    Hey Chaps,

I got 78 points last week, and have already brought siggy in at the start of the week for mata (I'm a United fan, and after going to the valencia friendly and the swansea game I really doubt until we can get a bit of pace in the side that we'll do well).

Anyway I was wondering if you thought that taking giroud out for Bony was worth the -4?

    Cheers in advance.

Yeh mate it is a big call. But tbh I dont feel too worried. Ive got rooney for cover. Just completely uninspired by United. It could come back to bite me, but I also wanted to free up some funds for future transfers.

Any thoughts on Giroud for Bony for -4?

Mate as an arsenal fan, Giroud seems miles away from scoring. i think it was alexis that played him over the top of besiktas defence, giroud had a shot, didnt make contact with the ball. He needs match fitness, id give him another week. but arsenal not got the best of fixtures. so dunno.

I think everton will sneak a win, im contemplating giving ramsey for silva. but a bit too scared to. maybe im a bit too negative and overly critical about arsenal.

Cheers mate! Yeh I watched arsenal in mid week and he didnt look too sharp. I think my decision will go down to the wire haha. I wouldnt take Ramsey out though mate, always liable to pop up with a goal. I'm keeping him anyway.

      Personally, I'd take Giroud out.

Wenger seems intent on getting Sanogo some game-time (despite looking absolutely terrible) and potential for Sanchez to also play up front. Therefore, don't see Giroud as guaranteed starter for them anymore.

Although I don't have Bony (got Dzeko as my equivalent), think he is a good option as banged in a lot of goals in second half of last season under Monk and is their definate 1st choice

Do you think it is a wise move to not use my wildcard until after the international break?

    My current team is:
    Begovic-Gilks
van Aanholt, Wisdom, Chambers, Luis, Clyne (swapped from Rafael this week)
    Ramsey, Sigurdsson, Lamela, Hazard, Marney
    Jovetic, Costa, Rooney

(Irvine has said that Gamboa is unlikey to be ready before the international break so Wisdom may play for the next couple of weeks).
