Gameweek 3 gets underway with a lunchtime encounter between Burnley and troubled United. Having lost their first two matches, the Clarets are desperate to get points on the board and will certainly be buoyed by the current form of today’s opponents, as Louis van Gaal’s side stumble from one poor result to another.

With Angel di Maria poised to make his debut for the visitors, though, Fantasy owners of United’s attackers have a renewed sense of optimism for the Turf Moor meet. Captain Poll favourite Wayne Rooney, Juan Mata and Robin van Persie are all more than capable of delivering in emphatic fashion and could be set to benefit from the Argentine’s arrival.

Following this one, we have five matches to savour at 3pm before Everton host Chelsea in the evening kick-off at Goodison.

    Di Maria looks lively but you'd expect that from a 60m player. De Gea has been very good too. Everyone else has been poor. RVP, does he even care?

    mata is too slow, change positions with di maria, mata can do 'the scholes role' and di maria who has pace can make something happen, too narrow making it easy for burnley to make it tight in the middle

    Just some notes on that horrendous first half:

    -United CMs don't want the ball, never checking in when the CBs have it, forcing them to play long ball
    -RVP is 2-3 paces off ATM, nowhere close to match fit
    -Di Maria looks good but needs to see more of the ball

    Overall, United have been shite, Burnley sticking to the game plan

      Indeed - hugely disjointed, nobody picking it up deep to carry it. Mata needs to sit deeper properly or be replaced.

      Feck that United faces QPR at OT next GW, I think I'll drop Mata anyway. He doesn't fit the system at all and is completely invisible. Also if there's someone to be dropped from the attacking 4 of Roo, RVP, ADM and Mata, it's gotta be the Spaniard...
