This international break marked the launch of FFS UEFA’s latest team game, the FFS Hockey World Cup 2014. All the 12 teams have completed their recruitment and they are now ready to rumble. You can check out the player composition on the Squads Page.

What Next?

GW4 beckons. And with that – friendlies are here. Each team has challenged/been challenged to a friendly, which will allow teams to warm up their players and the management to test out their selection policy. The six fixtures are as below:

Belgium vs New Zealand

Netherlands vs Australia

England vs South Africa

Malaysia vs South Korea

Germany vs Spain

India vs Argentina

Lineup Submission

All managers are requested to email me their four substitutes and their FPL IDs before the deadline of Friday, 12 Sep, 2359 BST. In case he or she  fails to do so, the autosubs will be the last four players on the Squads Page.

Managers may also be likely to post any pressers on this article here. So be on the watch for latest team news, especially from your enemies.

    Good evening sportsfans, ladies and Gentlemen and the team they call India.

    This is our first presser for a week as we have been training behind closed doors and shutting away the distractions that are so bountiful here in beautiful Buenos Aires.

    We have much to announce since the window slammed shut last night. We made our penultimate signing a good week ago but we wanted to await for the red tape to be cleared up and for a passport to be granted before announcing our signing. After fervant negotiations we were over the moon to capture the signing of Woy of the Wovers...due to difficulties with afore mentioned red tape we had to change his name my depol...ladies and gentlemen it's our absolute delight to introduce to you "Woy of the Albicelestes"!!!

    With our final spot we decided to play the waiting game and not knee jerk...we had several negotiations with some top flight fantasy players, some didn't feel at the top of their game and didnt feel they could do the team justice, others quite simply bottled it at the prospect of coming into such a strong squad and we understand and respect that. Then on a flight of fancy a little birdie gave us the heads up on the availability of a very rare breed, an fpl player of real class and consitency. We made sure the signing flew through late last night despite him just repeating everything we said in negotiations. He truly is the feather in the teams cap...ladies and gents...our final aquisition "MrCadburysParrot"!

    Once the squad was completed we set about as a team deciding on who to give the armband to. With so many leaders in the squad the need felt obsolete but after a democratic process the tightest of races was concluded with Gucho Spectrumarradonna taking the armband. We could not seperate the next two spots and following tradition have set up a military junta and now have 2 VC's Gaucho Dogba and Gaucho Sunny. The committee has picked our starting line up that wll be announced later.

    We wish our supposed competition for tomorrows "friendly" India the best of luck and a happier time in the tournament after what they have to face this weekend!

    Hello peeps,

    This is the Dutch XI for tomorrow in the 'not-so-friendly' against Australia. The ones benched are Djerbil, Reedy, Siva Mohan and N.A.B.I.L.

    Special mention to Djerbil, Reedy and Siva Mohan for taking the hits this week for the sake of the squad so that they could have strong squads for the main draw of the tournament. Also I have to leave my vice NABIL out, as the poor lad is in a different time zone and doesn't even probably know yet that Jovetic is out for the game. Take your hit NABIL this week, and get ready for next week. 😉

    So here goes our hot-shot XI for the week, led by veteran captain MJ, with our favorite mod Roscola as deputy vice for the game ahead of NABIL. And yeah, the last four names will give a familiar feel to all those who saw us succeed so well at the FFS WC, and I'm sure they would love to go one step better this time.

    Oh Crap!

    Mega Drama on the morning of the friendlies "MrCadburiesParrot" is a dud!

    We recruited a player who had last seasons fpl ID on his link... which this season translated to a very good player. Alas he updated it and he is an average player (no offense...so am I!). We were waiting for a "Ben" to email the team. When our accidental signing emailed us we didnt recognise the name or like the team so turned him away.

    Now we're left with someone's screen name who thinks he's not in the tourney and some very good players points who knows nothing about the tournament...

    I have emailed ENR would anyone object to us replacing the Parrot this morning or are we stuck with perma-bench fodder?! 🙁

        our scouting process was honestly not run like that at all. In honesty we had several targets for the last spot that we waited and waited on but we couldnt contact them and others didnt want to play the tourney. it ended up being very last minute for the last spot... appreciate you beig cool with it and we'll make sure its not gonna be a wildcarder
