Brendan Rodgers confirms that Daniel Sturridge is set for a short spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury. Aaron Ramsey has emerged as an injury concern for Arsenal’s clash with City at the Emirates. Romelu Lukaku is amongst a quartet of players to return to training for Everton. Alan Pardew has ruled Rolando Aarons out of weekend visit to St Mary’s. Roberto Soldado remains a doubt as Spurs visit the Stadium of Light and Leicester are set to be boosted by the return of midfielder Matty James.

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Aaron Ramsey “has a chance for Saturday” after the midfielder picked up an ankle injury on international duty with Wales. Elsewhere, Kieran Gibbs, Mikel Arteta and Mesut Ozil have all been passed fit and are set to be included in the squad, though the Arsenal boss has refused to confirm whether or not new signing Danny Welbeck will feature from the start.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku is likely to be in contention to face West Brom at the weekend. Lukaku had been struggling with a toe problem, and subsequently missed Belgium’s friendly with Australia, but the club record signing has taken part in training today along with Steven Pienaar, Arouna Kone and Bryan Oviedo. Samuel Eto’o and Leon Osman both face late fitness tests after sustaining knocks in the past week.

Daniel Sturridge is expected to be out for “up to three weeks” with a thigh injury, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed. Meanwhile, summer signing Emre Can could be sidelined for up to six weeks after the midfielder suffered an ankle injury while playing for Germany Under-21s. Joe Allen will also be assessed ahead of the Villa game after hurting his knee while turning out for Wales earlier this week, though Martin Skrtel, Glen Johnson and Jon Flanagan are all out.

Newcastle have suffered another injury blow, with Alan Pardew confirming that Rolando Aarons will miss the weekend visit to St Mary’s after sustaining a hamstring injury. In more positive news, Pardew revealed that midfielder Cheick Tiote will be in the squad for Saturday providing he returns from international duties unscathed, while Jack Colback has also declared himself fit for the trip to Southampton. New signing Facundo Ferreyra has been ruled out with a back injury.

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Roberto Soldado is a doubt for the Sunderland clash with a neck injury, while Kyle Walker remains sidelined.

Ronald Koeman has confirmed new boy Sadio Mane is uncertain to feature at home to Newcastle. The Senegal star has to travel to Ghana to receive a work permit and, even if he’s available, is set for a bench role at best.

Leicester’s Matty James has returned to training after missing the start of the season with a shin injury. Nigel Pearson, though, has hinted that the Stoke clash is likely to come too soon for the central midfielder.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

    RMWCT

    Krul (McCarthy/Elliot)

Clyne - Moreno - Wilson (N. Taylor, Moore)

Ramsey - Sterling - Fabregas - Siggy (Boyd)

    Rooney - Costa - Balo

Tempted to go Fab/Rooney to Tadic/Kun.

Reasonably new to the game, so any thought would be great! 😀

Looks good, close to what I am looking. If on WC I would consider dropping Ramsey for the next few games, once the fixtures clear up Walcott will likely be a better option anyway.

Not sold on Rooney but could be good for this week, otherwise plan to be able to get Aguero if needed.

I would not drop Fab, but I am a Chelsea fan. Per above would personally drop Ramsey.

Tadic/Pelle both looking like they could be good options.

Just finished my WC team. Not sure about Moreno, is Lovren better option?
Is it too early to put Di María and Welbeck in?

    Any other thoughts well appreciated.

    Thanks

    Begovic (Mc Carthy, QPR)

Ivanovic, Moreno, Schlupp (Naylor, , Mc Shane (Hull))

Siggy, Di María, Sterling, Fabregas, (Boyd)

    Welbeck Costa Balotelli (c)

I was going to go with Clyne but found Moreno rotates with my existing defenders better. So it's Moreno for now but looking to get Clyne in very soon.

If you do a poll on here, I think it'll just come out in favour of Clyne and probably rightly so. Less risk of rotation and a manager that prioritised defensive duties.

    I'd appreciate some thoughts on
    Foster > McCarthy
    Mutch > Silva
    Dzeko > Naismith

Only a -4 hit and it brings in Everton coverage, reduces my reliance of Dzeko game time (I've been stung by him in the past) and brings in a tasty young keeper for little money.

So, I've got Jovetic. Is it worth taking a -4 hit to swap him, and if so who to?

    My shortlist is:
    A) Pelle
    B) Balotelli
    C) Ulloa
    with a possible
    D) Welbeck (but I don't really like him for the next couple of weeks)
I could afford to go to Costa too but am worried about his 'injury'

I've got Sterling and Tadic already, but I've got nothing against doubling up on Liverpool or Southampton with their fixtures.

Am I oversimplifying the price changes?
Looking at price rises since the last week players who hit around 100,000 transfers in go up 0.1.
When they hit somewhere above 300,000 they go up another 0.1.
This should mean that Moreno will rise tonight, Balotelli may do and Clyne has an outside chance.

Wilcarded and I've took out di maria for Zaha and got 4.3m left.

Like having spare cash under the mattress for when my options run out but is it wise?.RMT please

    Begovic
    Ivanavic, Clyne, Lovren
    Zaha, Sterling, Fabergas, Ramsey
    Wellbeck, Naismith, Costa

Subs - McCarthy, Siggy, Duff, Wisdom

      Very similar to my team,
      Zaha=Gerrard, Duff = Wilson

You don't have to spend the extra but I think Duff to Wilson or Coloccini would be a good move - you get so much more for the extra 0.5m

        Thanks Snevitz

Good suggestion - guess I've held off in case suddenly I need to whack DiMaria in my team and can avoid a -4. Worried he will catch on fire

Costa accepting the player of the month award in #Chelsea training gear... Means he's gotta be match fit for #Swansea

But the question is for how many minutes.

The Big Q. To WC or not? I've done a hit and must take another one as Jones is out.

    Team ATM (*=Doubts/not playing):
    Bego
    Jones*, Terry, Clyne
    Ramsey*, Sterling, Fab, Siggy
    Rooney, Costa*, Welbeck
    Subs: Dummett*, Albrighton*, Bruce* (4.0GK)

    WC draft:
    Mannone, McCarthy
    Evans, Terry, Clyne, Lovren, Wisdom
    DiMaria, Fab, Sterling, Siggy, Zaha
    Costa, Rooney, Naismith

    Cheers!

One simple mistake of choosing Eriksen over Siggy at the start of the season has cost me 44,000 places.

    Wow!

Plus the 2 million would have helped you in some other area of your team 🙂

Surely it cost you more places than that?

I would be an extra 22 points better off.

Currently just outside 45k, that extra 22 points would put me just outside 1k.

        I wish I hadn't looked!!!

Ok, makes more sense if you're near the top.
22 points would move me from 316k to top 40k

Leaning towards Moreno as he seems to have better BAPS potential based on the three games so far.

WC team is set, still have 8,8M in the bank for the 3rd striker.
Only for this week, would you rather have

    A) Pelle
    B) Naismith
    C) Adebayor

    Morning all!

Already taken -4, I have to take a further hit to ship Sturridge right?

And Balotelli best replacement if I have Rooney and Costa? (Can't afford Kun)

Already did Mata -> Sterling for a free ages ago and have injury concerns over

        Foster
        Jones
        Ramsey
        Jovetic
        Costa

and I only really have Marney on the bench...

I'm thinking Ramsey will be fine - but Wenger might decide to bench him anyway. I think that mainly because I've got Ramsey and Wenger (and historically Fergie) do whatever they can to screw up my FF team.
I'm thinking Costa will probably be fine too - mainly because I haven't got him. If I decide to get him he'll be genuinely injured though.
Jovetic will be fine too, mainly because I'm about to sell him, probably for Balotelli. Which means Balo will get sent off.
