Not sure what to do with my team. Backline is a complete shitshow, who would you prioritise as the transfer out this week. Team is:

    Krul (Foster)
    Terry, Naylor, Pieters*, Colo, Chester*
    Sterling, Rambo, Cesc, Siggy, Marney
    Rooney, Costa, Naismith

1FT, 2.6 ITB. Thinking Chester has to go or should I get Colo out? Any advice greatly appreciated.

pieters injured long term or he should be ok?you can play naylor-pieters-colo this week and you still have terry to come if needed,i think you are fine

Can't seem to find any info about it so waiting on that, didn't manage to catch the game to see it for myself. Cheers, hopefully you're right had a terrible couple of weeks due to not captaining Costa.

      You have the same front 8 as me. My backline however is;
      Bego - Elliot
      Cahill - Chester - Caulker - Moore - Clyne
      I also have 1FT and a similar 2.7 ITB.
I'm thinking of getting Baines in for either Chester or Cahill. Guess you could follow suite or if I were you I'd consider Colo>Clyne and hold Chester for a week if you had him from 4.5.
What would you do in my situation? 🙂

Cheers for the response, funnily enough I was also considering Baines for Chester, has a couple of tough fixtures after Palace but schedule gets pretty gorgeous after that. Your team is a better version of mine 😉 I'd want to keep all of those defenders except for Chester. I'd hold Cahill, Chelsea defence usually thrives in the tough games. Might not be the case this year but I am waiting to see just in case.

Only way is up for both of us then I hope! Good advice, probably worth at least hanging fore until after the European games I suppose!
My only issue is then which transfer (if any) to make and then which back 3 to select! Any thoughts? Who are you gonna choose at the back this week? Playing Terry?

    Did anyone notice that earlier? Players Net TI Net TO TI - TO Breakup Rise Costa 810781 328692 482089 (100k+2 *150k) . 3 Ivan 431858 42539 389319 (100k+1*150k) . 2 Clyne 346428 37209 309219 (100k+1*150k) . 2 Shawx 238726 38862 199864 (100k+0*150k) . 1 Chadli 176704 33694 143010 (100k+0*150k) . 1 Dier 718154 81655 636499 (100k+3*150k) . 4 Cesc 667067 46765 620902 (100k+3*150k) . 4 Siggy 983977 72756 911221 (100k+4*150k) . 5

Note Siggy = 100k + 5*150k, bt by this criteria he should have risen yesterday... Hey all, not certain where to go next once the European matches are over..

Think I could save a transfer seeing as Falcao may still not start next week (looked a bit stiff still when warming up)..but I am very tempted by Ramsey > Di Maria even if his FPL contribution was a bit flukey. He's the real deal if you ask me (and many others ha) and his price may get out of control..

    ...................Begovic
    .........Ivan - Clyne - Moreno
    Cesc - Sterling - Ramsey - Siggy
    ....Naismith - Rooney - Costa

    Gilks; Marney, Chambers, Hutton

That's who I'm on currently because Forster will probably play so not sure I want the double up but Swansea's defensive stats look shocking. Lots of shots conceded in the box compared to Soton. Maybe worth the double up or even Wilson?

Good shout mate. Considered him a few weeks ago but fixtures didn't look too appealing. Colback and Ki are also pretty decent picks I guess. Also think JWP would be good if he wasn't benched so much. All I need is a 2 point off the bench haul though, so may stick with Boyd and save myself 0.6. We'll see.

    Ivanovic, Moreno, Clyne, Chester, Duff
    Fab, Siggy, Sterling, Tadic, Zaha

.6 in the bank. Thinking of making a move. Any advice?

Dropped 350 places after the Hull game. Not too bad i suppose, just inside top 2k

You know that the difference between the Top 10k & 200k is only 30pts, yeah?

So being in the Top 1k this early means very little one way or the other...

I'm still bitter about dumping Costa at the week 3 deadline. Meanwhile, my main ML rival is out on paternity leave, hasn't made a transfer in 3 weeks, and cruising along with Costa (C). Brutal stuff.

If you had Ivanovic and you were on a WC this week. Would you look to move him on with these upcoming fixtures?

mci, AVL, ARS, cpl, mun, QPR, liv

Thats 4 hard games in the next 7 where clean sheets are unlikely.

Statistically its actually not too bad, although they do concede a few too many big chances. Ivanovic is obviously on fire in an attack sense as well which does bring significant hesitation. His attacking stats is possibly the best in all positions in the league right now, strikers and midfielders included.

There's just so much value in the mid to budget priced brackets. And I'm not sure Iva will keep up his exploits as surely Mou will get tired of conceding soft goals.

Thats a very speculative opinion though. Also Ivanovic is excellent value for just over 7m. His attacking stats are up there with the forwards and mids and he has potential clean sheet value.

It's not speculative at all. He's been a liability defensively. Now the fixtures are getting tougher. More like common sense.

To you maybe but then again you're not Mourinho. I can see Chelsea shutting up shop in the big games and then increase their chances of clean sheets as well. Mourinho has done it in the past to great effect.

That's exactly my point though. You've basically restated my post you just quoted. So then you have to ask yourself is that worth risking 7m? Not a chance for me.

That doesn't mean Ivanovic will have no goal threat or assist potential. It will mean that Fabregas won't play deep but a DM will be brought in to tighten up. The thing with Ivanovic is that he will always be up for corners or FK's. Thats what will win a game for Chelsea in a tough game against the likes of City. Also it significantly increases his clean sheet appeal, even against tough opponents.

Ivanovic: 10 SiB. Only Costa and Pelle have more

Ivanovic: 9 created chances. The same as Costa who is top for the forwards. Its also top 10 for midfielders.

He's playing great and has great attacking stats. He's worth owning. The notion that he is "too expensive for a defender" is rubbish to me. There are plenty of strong mid-priced options in mid and attack just as there are plenty of good mid-priced options in defense. He's doing the business right now and worth the premium, in my opinion. He could easily had another attacking return against Swansea if the ball bounced his way here or there - he was a menace yet again.

I think having a proper goal threat in Costa is helping as well, he can finish the chances created and draw a lot of attention from defenders. Of course tough upcoming fixtures could change everything. It wouldn't surprise me if Mourinho shuts up shop against City.

I agree, saw some banter about Chelsea's set up earlier, and I just couldn't shake the nagging feeling that now w UCL starting up they are going to re-focus on defensive solidity. If Ivan is given less license to run up into the box then so be it, clean sheets are still 4 points last time I checked.

No, I'm still on the fence because I haven't pushed the WC button yet. I may simply chose to hold for the time being as I have no intention to sell.

      My WC last week...

      Forster>Heaton evens
      Chester>Moreno +1
      Blackett>Bertrand +5
      Wisdom>Alderweireld +6
      Hutton>Moore +1
      Ramsey>AdM +9
      Hazard>Sterling -1
      Albrighton>Boyd +2
      Sturridge>Aguero(C) +12
      Jovetic>Welbeck +2

10 transfers in yielding 37 points on my transfers out. Also swapped Rooney out and brought him back in at a penny less. Saved/gained a total of .6m and am on my way to gaining more while others fall. Only regret is Moreno. Wish I'd kept Blackett. And no, I was never bringing in Costa. Was always planning to see how he goes against City first.

I cannot see him getting attacking returns, no. Maybe he will nick a goal or two off a set piece throughout the course of the year, but doesn't seem like anyone on Burnley is good for attacking returns regardless of position so far this year 🙂

He has passed my eye test in the couple Burnley games I've seen so far and I do like the look of him he's a proper CB. Think he's worth it for the nailed-ness.

I don't get all of these people planning to get rid of Ivanovic for Baines as well as Baines showing up in a lot of WC teams in favor of Ivanovic. 7 million for a Chelsea striker is a bargain.

i can't tell if 'striker' was a typo or you're making a point, but either way chelsea look about as unlikely to keep a clean sheet as anyone in the league right now, particularly with upcoming fixtures, and baines is fairly reliable.

I would agree but they have conceded a lot of big chances as well as goals and their fixtures take a turn for the worst. In saying that, Baines is only really an option from GW8 imo.

ivan could have easily got attacking returns this gw - 3 shots and 6 chances created

if that had happened everyone would be flocking to buy him...as it is he blanked - most treating him like a mid/fwd it seems 😀

at that price he has to be treated like that when they're defensively so leaky though really :p

nothing obvious really, 'tis a good team! again, maybe downgrading, say, pieters to, say, duff and trying to go balo---->aguero after the chelsea game?

I'm a little confused about what transfer I should make for next week...Help please guys!

      0.4 in the bank.

      Begovic (Gilks)

      Lovren Clyne Naylor (Moore) (Wisdom)

      Fabregas Sterling Tadic Siggy (boyd)

      Balotelli Rooney Costa

      A- Balotelli to Pelle
      B - Balotelli to Welbeck
C- Balo to Pelle/Welbeck and Uprade Wisdom to Chambers for a -4 hit ( I think Chambers is a great option now that Debuchy is injured)
      D- Save FT
      E- Something else.

      Thanks in advance guys.

an alternative is downgrading someone in preparation for balo ---> aguero the following week. tadic to zaha perhaps.

i'm not sure about chambers or welbeck, pretty tough fixtures coming up. pelle seems a good pick although doubling on southampton may be a little excessive?

Cheers, I was thinking about doing something to bring Aguero in earlier on today....just something makes me feel queasy about a midfield four of Fab/Sterling/Siggy and Zaha.

I'd probably save. Harsh to bin Balo after just the one game, assuming you just brought him in, unless you thought he looked so dire that there is no hope for him whatsoever and you are ready to cash in on a mistake made.
