Here’s our regular update on the competition, featuring a look at our friendlies that took place over Gameweek 4, the  Live Scorecast and a look ahead to the start of the tournament itself when Matchday 1 kicks off this weekend. Please use this article for all tournament chat.

Friendlies

Over Gameweek 4 players got a taste of the Hockey World Cup team format with the friendlies being held prior to the real games.

The final results have been updated in the Cup spreadsheet

Live ScoreCast

Pratik has now launched the Live ScoreCast Tool, which lets you view the scores in real time as the Premier League games are on. So as Chelsea’s Diego Costa bangs in a goal and his four FPL points are added you will now be able to watch your hockey team’s scores rocket. Remember to bookmark this link.

If you haven’t checked out The Fantasy Freak’s new quiz initiative to further fuel the team spirit in this arena, do so now – TFF’s Quizzes are back with a twist. He conducted a couple of quizzes over the week and here is what the Hockey World Cup leader board looks like:

Managers may also be likely to post any pressers on this article here. So be on the watch for latest team news, especially from your enemies. As previously, please keep all the match day banter on this thread.

        I can only assume it is the Percentage of the Squads overall score that made it onto the pitch

            The expected % from everyone scoring the same would be 73.3% so anything above that and you're doing well. If you get 80% it's like having 12 players and 3 on the bench if they all scored the same points.

            It would require some drastically bad benches to get it above the mid 80's. 86.8% would be 13 starters worth and 2 on the bench if they all scored the same.

      Is it possible to auto-sort the players by GW score? I just think it would be more practical, but you wouldn't be able to see who the manager's number 1 choice was 😀

    Here we are ladies and Gentlemen...

    Following a humbling loss to our Indian friends in last weeks friendly we are now at the business end of matters. Tomorrow things get very real as we face Holland in the opening fixture of the tournament proper. We have a lot of respect for our oponents and know that it wont be an easy game but we also know what we can do and that we have true quality and depth in our talented squad. We learned a great deal last week (like how we shouldnt bench Woy!) and we're confident that tomorrow we will show that we are a real force to be reckoned with!

    So err, there could not have been a bigger confidence booster than defeating the world-beaters Australia, and not being complacent, I think our team has in it to easily win the group stages.

    First up, Argentina. I didn't know many of you guys before the tourney, but you bunch seem active and friendly enough, so wish you all the luck an opponent can.
