We delve into the Gameweek 5 data this evening in our first members article of the week. Wayne Rooney’s new role for United comes under analysis, as do Burnley and Leicester’s displays up front, whilst a couple of north London-based frontmen are also placed under the microscope after their contrasting weekend performances.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

fab is looking pretty dangerous all round. Depends where the 2.8 will go though.

Ulloa and Fabregas or Sigurdsson and say Welbeck/Luka. I can also downgrade Ulloa to some cheapster and get both Fab and Sigurdsson 🙂

if this was the end of the season and had to make up points i would rate clyne for a cheeky captain this week. too early for such silliness though.

I'm usually pretty far down by then and i've always wanted to get a best team score for one week. They are usually such crazy teams that get it.

    Bego
    Bertrand Clyne Moreno
    Siggy Sterling Fab AdM
    Welbeck Costa Aguero
    who should i C and V ?
Worried Aguero Costa Fab rested although its currently Costa (c) RMT agrees
Thinking to Captain AdM though because of resting worries for other candidates

Makes sense to just play it safe and go with Costa (c) and Aguero (v)

Captaining Costa isn't the safe pick though. If he is rested but Chelsea are losing or drawing he would get subbed on in the 2nd half just like he was against Schalke in midweek.

The safest option is to go with a player like Pelle or ADM who are pretty much 100% nailed on and should play close to 90 minutes

        1. Jay_
          11 years, 10 months ago

Hmmm thats why AdM is apealing, was my V last 2 gws

This is why I vowed not to own Kun this year--vs. Hull, and you're worried to captain him, and rightfully so. Leave (but monitor) Costa as captain, and have AdM as vc.

So who to dump Rooney for?

Pelle, Welbeck or Ulloa? Ulloa would make it easier to get fabregas...other 2 would mean taking a hit for Fabregas...first 2 look better though.

    Cheers 🙂

Because he's Wayne bloody Rooney. Shifting him after one poor appearance in which he still managed an assist is ridiculous.

If I had the dosh I would dump him for Falcao or Aguero. Downgrading to Pelle is interesting though, but I already have Tadic so I might just bank the transfer.

I wouldn't even do it for a FT to be honest. C'mon man, sure we would all like Falcao etc but transfers are valuable. Use the wisely

      2. FionnMac
        • 16 Years

Rooney is nailed on for 90min each game and has 2 home fixtures coming up, City aren't exactly firing on all cylinders although Aguero can explode at any point of course. When fit and City on form it's Aguero all day, but this just isn't the case at the moment

      • 16 Years

I have no United bias at all (not saying Muppet does, but some people might suspect that) and I agree that I'd keep Rooney for now.

Save the FT and you can consider downgrading for someone in form next week and use the money to upgrade MF or something. But to use a FT to get rid of Rooney just before a home vs WHU where he is nailed on is pretty dumb without a plan to use the money (and I'm a West Ham fan!)

I think I might pull the trigger. Punted on Zaha this weekend and that bit me. I am trying to separate myself from some people. Everyone seems to have the same midfield. Thoughts for this change in 2-3 weeks?

Morneo, Naismith and Moore --> Baines, Lukaku and Vlaar
    or
Moreno, Naismith, Moore and Tadic --> Baines, Welbeck, Vlaar and Ramsey

I think Pelle has just passed Welbeck as my preferred FT this week...

It's gonna be a close one...

Pelle's fixture run doesn't have Chelsea next week…oh and he has QPR this weekend. My Nana could put a brace in against them.

I'd actually play Wisdom this weekend. Everton will score against Liverpool and then you need Moreno to have attacking points. WBA will hopefully ride the Tottenham shut out even though they suck.

Not a fair comparison. Wisdom shud only be considered as bench fodder. Moreno is 1.5 million more!

Yeah but with Pool's shaky defense I'd need attacking points from him while Wisdom has Burnley at home.

Burnley have got to score at some point. I agree though I am relying on attacking points, but he looks likely to get them.

Who got the clean sheet last weekend though and who got 3 goals blasted in against them. When pool get their sh*t together I agree he will be an asset. Until them I'd risk this one for the weekend. Just me though.

Up against a Burnley side who have scored just once.

Already took -8 to put out a few fires and to avoid burning my WC. Anything else worth fixing?

    Forster (Myhill)
    Clyne Duff Wisdom (Moreno, Rose)
    Sterling Fab ADM Siggy (Cattermole)
    Costa(c) Rooney Ulloa

    Hi Guys,

    De Gea
    Ivanovic Duff Clyne (Wisdom Bruce)
    Sterling Hazard Ramsey Siggy (Elmohamady)
    Costa Rooney Naismith

    1FT / 1.5M ITB

I missed the Naismith for Ulloa yesterday, is it still worth it?

Or should I downgrade a mid to get Pelle in?

Pick as best defence u can at the start or when u wildcard, play the ones woth the best chance of a cs each week, only sell any of them to get money or maybe get baines otherfwise dnt think abt them

He's gonna be great value in January that's for sure. I've already made a mental note to keep track of him when he returns to be the first to profit from his inevitable undervaluing.

Hah, I have to pick this week though! Other MF are Siggy, Ramsey and Marney. Could do Ramsey>the other one at some stage but I'd have to raise a mill or so from somewhere and have more pressing issues than upgrading Rambo

FFS! It's not an option, at least not yet. I'd have to take a hit to sell Rambo PLUS raise the money from selling someone else, which is obviously dumb as fk. Sorry, just irritates me when people say stuff like that 😀
