Our Friday lunchtime regular is served up once again, as we analyse the PlayON player price list ahead of tomorrow’s 10.45am deadline. As usual, we offer a couple of picks per position, with an essential weekend target and a left-field alternative for your consideration.

This week PlayON have a £1,000 Guaranteed Pot on offer for the full Gameweek. In addition, there is a £250 Guaranteed pot for each of their daily games on Saturday, Sunday and Monday – View the Guaranteed Pots Here.

Goalkeeper – Vito Mannone
We’re keeping faith in the Italian once again, after he vindicated our pick last week with six saves and a clean sheet in the Black Cats’ draw at Burnley. Sunderland entertain Swansea at the Stadium of Light tomorrow afternoon and after a promising start to the season, the Swans failed to score at home against Southampton in the previous round – at 7.9m, Mannone looks a strong option, given that save points are worth 200 points in the PlayON scoring matrix. West Brom’s Ben Foster is another stopper to consider at just 7.6m. The Baggies host a Burnley side who are yet to score since Scott Arfield’s goal in their opening match of the season against Chelsea and, with Joleon Lescott now fully fit, seems to have stepped up in resilience.

Defender – Ryan Bertrand
The Southampton defence has been solid so far this season, keeping a trio of clean sheets and conceding just three times, fewer than any other team in the league. The Saints welcome QPR to St Mary’s and the left-back looks a strong shout for points at both ends of the pitch – Bertrand has one assist so far and comes in at just 7.5m, compared to team-mate Nathaniel Clyne’s 8.9m. Chelsea’s home clash with Villa also looks a strong source of defensive points. Gary Cahill (8.1m) has played every minute so far for the west London team and the Blues’ centre-half will pose an aerial threat in the box against a visitors’ defence likely to be without skipper Ron Vlaar once again. Paul Lambert’s side may have picked up the points at Anfield but the league leaders are a different proposition altogether and with just four goals scored, the midlands outfit could struggle to breach Jose Mourinho’s backline.

Midfielder – Victor Moses
The Nigerian has quickly established himself on the Stoke left flank, having started each of the last three matches since arriving on loan from Chelsea. Moses served up an assist in last weekend’s draw at QPR and could be a bargain for 8.3m as the Potters entertain out-of-sorts face a Newcastle at the Britannia this weekend. Andre Schurrle may have had relatively limited pitch time so far but – as evidenced by last week’s draw at Man City – he’s more than capable of delivering the points as a substitute. Perhaps a little risky at 9.5m, the German’s eye for goal has already seen him notch twice – more than any Chelsea midfielder in a free-scoring side that has already notched 16 times in the first five Gameweeks.

Forward – Robin Van Persie
In previous seasons it would have been unthinkable to label Van Persie as a left-field pick. Although United’s defence looks best left alone in terms of Fantasy investment, Louis van Gaal’s side have picked up in the final third and scored seven times in two matches since moving to a midfield diamond. There’s no Van Persie has had a slow start to the campaign but. After scoring his first goal of the campaign last weekend, is starting to rediscover his form and, at 10.5m in the PlayON Player Price List, is cheaper than t Wayne Rooney (12.0m) as a route into the Red Devils’ attack. Southampton’s Graziano Pelle has an excellent fixture against QPR this week. The Italian has hit some form with three goals and an assist in his last three and, priced at 11.2m, will be confident of maintaining the run against a backline that has conceded four times in each of their two away matches so far.

Head over to www.playon.co and get picking ahead of the 10.45am deadline tomorrow morning.

      Ugh, 3-3...

Is my thinking that Burnley might become more leaky as they search for goals against lower level opposition completely flawed? And Manonne seems to still be the king of saves and bonus?

Not flawed thinking at all. I have Heaton and am playing him but it is against WBA. Could easily be a 0-0 as well.

same issue for me. Think i'm going with Mannone.

Not sure Burnley can keep up CS as they open up a bit to get some wins

Considering you can't have had him all that long, I'd say hold on, gotta give him some time. Chose him for a reason and there are probably better things to do with a transfer than lose someone you only just spent a valuable transfer bringing in.

      1. S.Kuqi
        • 13 Years

Got him straight in but with that price tag he needs to delivere much more than 1 assist / gw.

And he isnt even captain material atm.

Fair enough. If you could choose a game for him to be playing tomorrow, West Ham at home couldn't be far off the top. I say at the very least give him tomorrow. Only make the change if you are lucky enough to have no other pressing concerns.

Probably need to keep him atleast 2 gws so I can get Aguero for free if doesnt deliver.

    Forster (McCarthy)

Clyne / Shawcross / Taylor (Wisdom / Moore)

Sterling / Siggy / Fabregas / Schneiderlin (Lamela)

    Costa / Aguero / Naismith

Trades this week were Lovren, Krul, Zaha --> Schneiderlin, Forster, Wisdom for a -4. Good trades?

    If you had to choose:

    A) Balotelli+Rooney+Lovren -> Aguero+Costa+Chambers+0.5m this week for -8

What's the point of having Moreno if you're not playing him at home? He might concede but he might just as easily get an assist. I'm playing him and hoping - over Duff.

    Question for y'all...

Which takes precedence for you, Overall Rank or Mini League Position.

I don't mean which would you rather win, obviously if you win overall you've won your mini league. But rather which do you pay more attention to with transfer strategies etc.

Personally it's my mini league, often to do the detriment of my overall rank. By that I mean I may opt for a transfer that is a differential in our league but not overall or vice versa. Topping my mini league grants me much more satisfaction than coming seventeen thousand three hundred and forty-fourth overall.

    How about you?

    1. Pap Le Cissier

Overall rank for me. 6k is my best so far and desperately want to improve it. Although with tgis season so far, doubt it'll happen

Overall for me. Keep track of events, think long term, build the best possible team you can - Look after the pennies, the pounds take care of themselves.

Overall rank. My view is if that is good the rest will take care of itself.

Also people have short memories of mini league wins. Overall rank is recorded on your profile. Mine aren't particularly good but it gives you something to aim for...

    4. S.Kuqi
      • 13 Years

Don't give feck about overall rank. My main money league prize pool is 1800 € and other has 800 €. Last year I won both of them and had nice little holiday in Italy with those winnings.

Depends what your rank is... I am far away from the top 1000... and will probably have to concentrate on beating my mini league rivals first... trying to win overall would be near impossible from 890K where I am at the moment.... So I probably will take it a game at a time and try to beat my nearest mini league rivals first...

    6. 7shadesofsmoke

I focus only on my overall rank

If a mini league rival is doing better than me, I'm really pleased - as is the case this year.

Last year I won the ML by Christmas so had to focus on OR and found its a nicer way to play the game

I find I enjoy competing with mini league rivals more than overall. If I'm top of my mini league by a considerable way early on I'm actually more likely to lose interest somewhat. I love it when two three or four of us are in with a chance in the mini league come the last few gameweeks.

        1. 7shadesofsmoke
          • 13 Years

Absolutely. That's why I ended up focussing on OR.

I'm not saying I don't care about the ML - it's why I play, but when it comes to te selection etc I only play for OR.

I want my mayes to be competitive - even if they beat me

My current squad for GW6, any improvements? Got 1FT and £0.8m spare. On 288 points so far.

    De Gea (Mannone)
Bertrand - Ivanovic - Clyne (Wisdom, Cameron)
Ramsay - Siggurdson - Sterling - Eriksen (Ward Prowse)
    Costa - Rooney - Naismith

Also who should my captain be for GW6? Many thanks in advance.
