Yo Grim. Not great tbh. My rank has been paying the price ever since selling Costa that week when he was 'injured'. Have brought him back in for Rooney this week though and have somehow managed a couple of green arrows without him so onwards and upwards.

          You?

          1. Fantasy Gold
            12 years, 28 days ago

Yeah that's annoying. The only reason I held on to him was because I made an early knee-jerk transfer and didn't want to take a hit.

Had a pretty good start but I've made some iffy decisions that have cost me a fair few points.

Just done Rooney > Dzeko. Hopefully the returns are better 2nd time around 🙂

      A. I think Tadic will outscore Di Maria over the next 4 GWs. Di Maria has been quite lucky with his return while Tadic has been quite unlucky if you look at the underlying stats, Aguero is a steady Eddy.

I would actually go B - injury risk of aguero is my main reason

Last night I took a -8 hit on Rooney, Naismith, Ramsey > Aguero, Pelle, Jedniak while drunk.

Not sure how I should be feeling about this decision now.

      12 years, 28 days ago

-8 always a risk but good moves in general

    4. A guy
      12 years, 28 days ago

Jedinak is on penalties, but you just screw a proper midfielder (that might be out just for a game) to raplace him with this guy & get -8 points for that. The strikers are better though, but I'm not sure Pelle is scoring against Tottenham unless they're hungover after Europa again. 🙂

Wouldn't have been able to get Aguero without dropping Ramsey though. Maybe he can make up the hit given his fixtures....

But yeah, these moves probably wouldn't have been made while sober. Oh well.

        1. The Machine
          12 years, 28 days ago

I wouldn't say Gerrard is on form. Just about pick and hope with him really. Downing isn't a decent fpl prospect imo. He's got a few but he is downing after all

          1. rickardinho
            12 years, 28 days ago

You clearly haven't seen his stats for this season. West Ham are also playing some fantastic football and have the most shots on targets from set pieces (which downing takes the bulk of)

            1. The Machine
              12 years, 28 days ago

Ok then go ahead. Some players are all stats and no end product. Remember Paulimho? Or tadic? Form is temporary class is permanent

        2. Mile Plankton - Myth and Ch…
          12 years, 28 days ago

Yeah true. Maybe you have it right. Sturr will come good definitely. Gerrard is pretty frustrating to watch when you own him, but he's somehow always in the top mids. Ulloa is quite good and Downing is doing quite well. Not sure why I didn't like those combos at first glance.

Sakho hasn't moved an inch in ownership even after yesterday. Still 0.4% despite returns(5, 9, 6) in his last 3. I guess people are reluctant to do Rooney > Sakho.

    1. chrisjdgrady
      12 years, 28 days ago

Too many good forwards to choose from I guess! Costa is essential, Pelle is attractive and people probably want to drop Rooney for another premium cause extra money is scary =P

Really like that Sakho though! Wish I had room for him.

      1. PogChamp
        12 years, 28 days ago

Baines. On penalties and his fixtures looks really promising after GW8. Expect Everton defence to tighten up. So far they also have conceded a lot of goals of chances due to personal errors, so their underlying stats are not that bad.

If Brenda was clever (a big if) then he'd not play Sturridge v WBA as then he can skip international duty no questions asked.

    I do wonder though...

    1. The Machine
      12 years, 28 days ago

They need a win desperately against WBA. Imagine 1 or 2 points from villa West ham everton and WBA. Should play him if he's fit.

      1. The Machine
        12 years, 28 days ago

It's not like he's nailed on to get injured over the break if he starts next weekend. He was nearly fully fit this week. Should be absolutely fit next weekend

    2. @BigChrisso
      12 years, 28 days ago

he's their best goal scorer. Needs to play if fit.

Rogers and Pool already in a hole this season, need to win this weekend

    3. djenzio
      12 years, 28 days ago

Yeah but the problem is we need to win that match so he can't afford not to play him. If he rested him and we lost people would blame him. I think the real problem is lack of cover for sturridge. Really wish the remy deal worked out. Balo is looking dangerous but needs to score to get confidence.

    4. A guy
      12 years, 28 days ago

But if you have a fit goalscorer like him in the team, the story is different.

      1. djenzio
        12 years, 28 days ago

Yeah I think Sturridge and Balo together will do wonders for Balo. Don't think he has the confidence yet to play the lone striker and seems a little nervous. He has shown some wonderful ability and touches but is missing that confidence.

    5. rickardinho
      12 years, 28 days ago

Last year Sturridge was rested for the 3-3 derby because of injury yet Hodgson still played him for 90 minutes twice in the next 7 days in meaningless friendlies "to test his resolve". Safe to say the owl will play him 90 minutes against San Marino regardless if the score is 13-0 by halftime

People who ask this so much don't know the lack of info we or those sites have this season

          1. Walsh
            12 years, 28 days ago

Then I guess I just hate them. 🙂

          12 years, 28 days ago

I know it's irrational but people are looking for any grain of information.

Not saying you're not right but people tend to lose their minds making multiple difficult decisions on their WC 🙂

Seems like it was easier to predict last year... Just me?
But yeah, I'm take is not to worry too much.

      1. Walsh
        12 years, 28 days ago

Last year you could just pop over to totalfpl and see who would rise/fall every day. No questions asked.

    4. rickardinho
      12 years, 28 days ago

The big issue is that nobody seems to stop and read other posts in the thread (which ask EXACTLY the same thing) before blurting out their junk

      1. Walsh
        12 years, 28 days ago

I know I mean I'm used to that, like obviously this week will be full of nobs asking what do to with Ramsey and Rooney, which pair to transfer in, etc, roughly 3,000 times and I just filter that out no problem, but every single week of the same is x going to rise tonight is x going to fall tonight is just wearing me down... 🙁

    5. PogChamp
      12 years, 28 days ago

Not really. Freaking out about being able to afford a player goes with the game even if no one knows the answers.

Just to add..This site is a good place to be after 11pm GMT. Good advice and questions answered.

Welcome to the DZ, mate. 😀

      2. rickardinho
        12 years, 28 days ago

Yeah, I find that the DZ is great for feedback and good questions all around. Maybe it's because all the 12 year olds have gone to bed already?

And when someone asks what is happening with price changes and helpfully try to answer someone else comes on and tells me it's been said a million times before... Of course, but only because people keep asking...

Anyone with Ramsey and Rooney getting a couple of loans or just riding it out? Ta 🙂

    1. SW6
      12 years, 28 days ago

Somehow neither of them are in my squad, not sure how but I've got lucky there.

I'm really not sure on the whole loan system, it seems very expensive.

Nine points per player for 3 weeks, should get the points back fairly easily I'd have thought

Afrer dropping Roo & Ram for ADM & Pelle in 2 emergency transfers I find myself with a half decent team and 5.9m itb. I have become the Arsene Wenger of fan football.
