Granville’s lackadaisical approach to the new campaign might just explain why he’s treading water. Missing deadlines and price rises, my ScoutCast co-host badly needs to introduce some organisation into his season if he’s to keep pace – the man needs a PA – get your applications in.

With Granville floundering, I’ve decided to lay down my Wildcard to potential rub further salt into his wounds. Is it a chronic case of “jerky knee”? Granville certainly thinks (hopes) so.

We chat over my Wildcard revolution, analyse how the heavy-hitting midfielders are failing to pull their weight and rinse through the usual regulars in the same disorganised fashion.

Minute this meeting via this link or set your own agenda via the handy player below…

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Ulloa had 10k plus NTI earlier today I saw.

        Then again, Fiso and Total........

Perhaps 1-2 of David Silva, Fabianski, Welbeck, Shawcross, Clyne, and/or Ulloa will rise

As for drops, maybe Caulker will finally drop. Tomkins hasn't scored very many points and has had a few sellers as well. Schurrle, Eriksen, Terry, and Cabella might also be among the notable droppers.

My best guess though would be that very few if any noteworthy players will rise or fall tonight. Maybe one or two from the aforementioned. I don't foresee anyone with very high ownership changing.

Btw, this is based on my personal judgement based on the numbers on TPFL, Fiso, and Fplstatistics.

Due a goal? Needs good stats to be due a goal. I think you'll find the concept of 'due' is vastly overstated in this case when you see his underlying stats as well as his performances.

Should i use my wildcard? My defence is shocking, i have adebayor for some reason, need to get rid of zaha as 5th mid, not too keen on Fabregas anymore...also have rooney & ramsey. I do have 2 FT though but think it's gona take more to clear up this mess?...

    De gea, Gilks
    Caulker, Bertrand, Dummett, Wisdom, Vlaar
    Ramsey, Sterling, Siggy, Fab, Zaha,
    Rooney, Costa, Ade

    Thanks.

Di Maria/Ulloa/Chelsea Def In? Then Pelle for Ade next week!? (Worried about no Arsenal/Man City attacking coverage!)

I think Betrand/Wisdom/Vlaar are fine. Villa will start keeping clean sheets again after their hard fixtures, and Wisdom is a nailed on 4.0 who occasionally delivers CS points + bonus.

Ideally, I'd plan for Caulker --> Baines/Ivanovic, and Dummett --> Duff. But the second isn't super important given that they'll waste away on your bench most weeks 😛

I would save your wildcard unless you can't field a team. At least until the International break next week.

Ramsey and Rooney are priorities as they're non-starters (get in Tadic and Pelle/Welbeck/Aguero maybe).

Then in coming weeks you can swap out Ade, Zaha and upgrade Dummett (to Baines if you have the cash).

Actually, I'd upgrade Caulker instead of Dummett. Minimal clean sheet potential, and his attacking potential alone isn't worth that price.

    Possible WC team

    Begovic, 4.0
    Azpi, Chambers, Bertrand, N.Taylor, Wisdom
Di Maria, Sterling, Silva, Siggy, Boyd
    Costa, Pelle, Ulloa

2.5m to upgrade, possiblt bring Welbeck in for Ulloa after this week... Or upgrade Siggy.

        I'd rotate GKs. Mannone/Heaton instead of Begovic/4.0.

There was an article a few weeks ago showing that rotating GKs based on home/away on average works out better than a single GK.

So, two risers and twelve fallers. FPL Towers really are having fun with it this year. I wonder if they just read the comments on here and when a player reaches a certain number of name hits they increase his price. It'll probably be Mane and Welbeck again tomorrow.

Does it make sense to take Rooney out for 4 games for 10pts instead of 3 games for 9 and bring him back for Palace at home rather than City away. Gives whoever I bring in 4 games to score 1 goal to make it profitable

Is Baines still taking most of the set pieces this season?

I know he took the penalty against Palace, so he's in front of Lakaku, Eto?

What about free kicks and corners?

    1. Les Bleus
      • 14 Years

Baines has always been the first choice PK taker.

As for set pieces, he normally shared them with Mirallas, but now that he's injured I'd say he takes most if not all of them.

Remedial question. Subs cannot change your formation, correct? So if you start 3 forwards, and one does not play, there will be no sub for that forward. Please correct me if I'm wrong on this. Thx.

I'm glad I'm wrong about this. Here is the bit from the FPL rules page that confused me:

"If any of your outfield players play 0 minutes in the Gameweek, they will be substituted by the highest priority outfield substitute who played in the Gameweek and doesn't break the formation rules (eg. If your starting team has 3 defenders, a defender can only be replaced by another defender)."

After re-reading, I now realize that the important part is "doesn't break the formation RULES." The defender example is still poorly worded, imo.

Sub can change formation. If forward doesn't play, your first sub (that plays) will fill in. Even if defender. Only sub rule is you have to have 3 defenders at least at all times

For the second table, arent the numbers in Minutes per xx, rather than %? And I can't seem to find anyone at 29.7% - though there's someone at 29.9 mins per pen box touch

      1. rickardinho
        • 11 Years

I just checked, it's definitely 29.7. It should be pretty clear who the good one is anyways if you sort the two chances columns as well as the touches in box.

This is KPI as a percentage compared to the players same outputs at season. So essentially it's a measure of how much a player improves or gets worse compared to last year.

Oh then you need to mention that others have to manually choose the dropdown box set to compare with last season in that case. The settings don't translate over to the link that you pasted.

    C'mon DZ

    3rd repost (this week)

2-tier draft league starting this Sunday night (after the games).

Both leagues are 20-team leagues. Will expand to three leagues next season. Bottom three teams in leagues relegated down. Top 3 teams in lower leagues promoted.

If interested, e-mail planeticket@mail.com and I will send you an e-mail back from my hotmail account that I don't want to post in a public forum.

    * Going out the door, won't post again for many hours, though those of you in the league here can feel free to share. Have room for about 20 more entrants, at least.
