With Granville floundering, I’ve decided to lay down my Wildcard to potential rub further salt into his wounds. Is it a chronic case of “jerky knee”? Granville certainly thinks (hopes) so.

We chat over my Wildcard revolution, analyse how the heavy-hitting midfielders are failing to pull their weight and rinse through the usual regulars in the same disorganised fashion.

    Pretty terrible fixtures this week all around. Is it worth a (-4) hit to get someone in this week?

      I dont think taking a -4 hit for a defender is a good way to go, unless you are quite certain Swansea will get a cleansheet

        No, you see it's a draft game so those players are allocated to another team. Thus, meaning no other player can have them unless they trade. I got 7th pick hence why I don't have such players. I'd love them in my side if I had the chance! I ask about those two as no other player has them.

        It could be draftfantasyfootball.co.uk (shameless plug).
        But basically, each team in the league is unique. i.e. only one team can own Costa. One team can own RVP, etc. If you want Costa you could offer RVP in hope of getting him for example.

          Yeah... Feel like there are so many good defenders anyway. The tough positions to fill up are strikers and midfielders. Not enough of them to go around. Walcott and RVP should start getting you a lot of points soon.

            My doubt is Mangala starting. I stupidly traded him for Terry before last week's horror show. I'm a bit non plussed about bringing in Tomkins even though he plays for my team! My heart says Lampard but head says Tomkins or even Cresswell for that matter.

      So taking that prediction into consideration with the others made on FFS it's now that Balotelli is going to score 20+ goals, Welbeck going to score 20-25 and Sturridge going to walk away with the Golden Boot this season.

    I posted earlier today about Baines. Here are stats about how many top 1k teams owned Baines last year from The Metrician on fpldiscovery. Check out his awesome comment at the bottom of this page:

    The start of his comment:
    Final top 1K stats for Baines Leighton:
    – 447 teams had him at least once at some point of last season (43rd place in this table of importance)
    – 553 teams never had him
    – 3.7 gameweeks spent in an average top 1K side
    – 9.7% average ownership over the course of the season

    Coleman probably lowered those numbers. Would be interesting to know the stats for other seasons. Looking at the graphs posted in the comment, the top 1k teams knew there were good and bad weeks to own Baines and changed their teams accordingly (well this should be obvious anyway).

      Last season was different because Coleman was much better value at 5m. Naturally Baines would have had less owners than usual.

        Yeah. I realise that. I am very interested to see Baines ownership percentages over the last 4 years, but those stats aren't readily available.

        There were weeks where Baines hit 20+% ownership by the top 1k teams last year. Not bad. Although 70% didn't own him. If there's a high ownership time for Baines, it's surely coming up now after the United game (or even now. He'll score a hattrick of penalties this weekend).

        Completely irrelevant to this, but there was a team in the top 1k last year that didn't own Suarez all year round. Amazing.
