A journalist may have sources to information but their opinion, well that's all it is and in a lot of cases worth less than a lot of the posters on here imo.

The risk taker in me really wants to do these transfer for -12 before next GW.

Forster, Coleman, Chadli, Tadic, Pelle to Guzan, Hutton, Siggy, Sanchez, Austin.

More than happy to double on Villa defence given their fixtures. Good moves overall? Would leave £2.3 m spare to spend on a Downing replacement if he's out forever.

        11 years, 4 months ago

Disagree. If I did something like C.Cole + Bojan + Fernando to Rooney + Costa + Sanchez would you be saying the same?

You've gotta look at the likelihood of making up those hits by having a really big score in the week you do the transfers.

Forster to Guzan likely to be a swing of 4 points.

Chadli to Siggy could be 4 or more.

Coleman to Hutton is about equal imo.

Tadic to Sanchez could be a big return of points.

Pelle to Austin could also be a big return of points.

The thing is people don't tend to always return what they could return. In my opinion err on the side of caution take less hits and try to plan in advance so you do not need them

          1. Brutus619
            • 14 Years
            11 years, 4 months ago

Yeah that's a fair point, and that opinion is a lot more sensible to me than just blankly saying a -12 is never worth it.

I've taken lots of hits throughout my FPL career and more often than not I'm happy with the results (I even ended up having a hot topic debate with Jonty about it since my hits were working so well early last season and disproving his views about hits almost never panning out on a consistent basis).

Didn't mean to offend. I take hits it isn't that I just think that is a whopper I would try to avoid if at all possible. I really don't think if you have playing players who are decent (which you do) a hit shouldn't happen. Especially when defenders are involved. That hit cancels out your clean sheet completely in those circumstances so why bother? You never know the original player may do better than expected

                • 14 Years

                It's fine 🙂

I think we view hits differently because your perspective is based on short term gains while mine is based on long term gains.

I'm looking at Coleman to Hutton for a hit for 3 reasons: Money, OK chance of Hutton making up for the hit taken, and also because Everton only have 2 games in the next 5 that I'd predict a CS, whilst Villa have 4 in 5.

90% of my hits are based on at least the next 3 fixtures of the 2 player I'm considering swapping, not just the week for which I make the transfer.

                11 years, 4 months ago

My next 3 fixtures theory is typified by my desire to do Chadli to Siggy for a hit.
