With the somewhat uneventful Gameweek 15 behind us, we raise our spirits for an enticing double Gameweek ahead in the Sky Sports Fantasy Football game. As always, we cast an eye over the Man of the Match (MoTM) awards, bonus point beneficiaries and current market trends before taking a look at the Scout team and our plans for Gameweek 16.

Gameweek 15 Man of the Match Awards

These were the players that caught the eye of the Sky Sports reporters from last weekend’s fixtures achieving the Man of the Match award (worth an additional five points).

FixtureMoTM
Chelsea vs West BromEden Hazard
Everton vs West HamLeon Osman
Leicester vs SunderlandCostel Pantilimon
Man City vs SwanseaYaya Toure
Newcastle vs QPRMoussa Sissoko
Stoke vs BurnleyDanny Ings
Arsenal vs Man UnitedDavid de Gea
Crystal Palace vs LiverpoolYannick Bolasie
Hull vs TottenhamChristian Eriksen
Aston Villa vs SouthamptonGabriel Agbonlahor

Eden Hazard has now picked up two MoTM awards in a row, taking his total to four. The Chelsea winger has collected the most awards overall, an accolade he earned last season alongside Wayne Rooney and the departed Luis Suarez, all with nine. Yaya Toure (seven) and Yannick Bolasie (six) were also up here last year for MoTM awards and have really come into form in recent outings, so I expect them to continue to catch the eye of the Sky reporters. Danny Ings (7m) has stepped his performances up in recent weeks, too, and presents a great budget forward option ahead of the double, with two great home ties against Villa and Newcastle.

Gameweek 15 Bonus Points

Five goalkeepers achieved bonus points from collecting five or more saves. David de Gea was one of those and his MoTM performance at Arsenal earned him a respectable eight points for his owners. Robert Green still leads the way for keepers with 12 bonus points.

In defence, 15 players grabbed bonus, nine for tackles and six for passes completed – Pablo Zabaleta came closest to earning both missing out by 11 completed passes. Centre-back Dejan Lovren is – somewhat surprisingly – the top performing defender in terms of bonus, with 14 additional points so far.

In midfield there were 15 beneficiaries in total: three for tackling and 12 for passes. Budget 3.8m option Ryan Mason was closest to earning both, missing out by just one challenge. Morgan Schneiderlin is still bossing the bonus points overall with 28 extra points.

Fantasy Football Scout members can access all information regarding bonus points using player stats and clicking the Sky Sports tab.

It’s been a strange transfer market across the Fantasy games this week, with Sky no exception. Four of the top five drafted in players are from Southampton, which looks to be a real show of faith considering their upcoming fixtures – perhaps last Monday night’s match at Villa had an impact as Fantasy managers went for the three captain strategy.

From the players most transferred out list, only Leighton Baines and Stewart Downing go into this week as doubts. Morgan Schneiderlin and Cesc Fabregas both recovered from injury to start last week, though Raheem Sterling’s poor form makes the Liverpool midfielder victim of a tactical reshuffle.

My Team

Hazard Downing Sterling© Tadic Di Maria
Aguero Costa

ITB: 0.8m
Transfers remaining: 26/40
Last week’s points: 42
Overall points: 702

Notes

Eden Hazard came to the rescue with his passing bonus, goal and MoTM earning me 14 points. As for the rest, they managed a shocking 28 between them, including two captains. My only planned transfer for this week is Dusan Tadic to Gylfi Sigurdsson as the fixtures shift in Swansea’s favour, the rest of the team looks reasonable, although Stewart Downing’s injury status and Raheem Sterling’s form are my main concerns, I’ll stick by them though for now and try to conserve transfers as I have gone beyond my planned quota.

Captain plan
For Saturday I’m locked into Raheem Sterling and will have to pray he delivers at home to Stoke. My plan then is to not switch for Sunday’s matches but instead to keep the armband on Sterling for Liverpool’s trip to Leicester on Tuesday evening. I’ll then swap my captain and give the captaincy to one of Diego Costa or Sergio Aguero on Wednesday – in addition, both of them play on the Saturday in Gameweek 17, so I’ll make a gut decision closer to the time.

A side note, if you’re looking to score yourself some big points this week and you have the trades to do it, you could opt for four captains over the double by transferring in a new captain each match day.

Another tip would be to draft in Wayne Rooney as your captain for his two home encounters if you have that luxury available to you. He’s in great form and Sky love to award him with the MoTM award, meaning even a small point return can turn into a decent haul.

The Fantasy Football Scout League

Once again, we’re running our own Fantasy Football Scout League this season and were currently toping the Private League rankings as per usual. With a £1000 prize to the winner, you’d be mad not to get involved. To join, visit Sky Sports Fantasy Football and key in League Name: FFScout, League Code: 8009000.

The Fantasy Football Club

This Friday The Fantasy Football Club show, where you can catch Fenners and Merse at 18:30 SkySports One HD where they will be discussing the upcoming week’s Fantasy Football, quizzing former Leeds defender Gary Kelly and asking England legend Sir Geoff Hurst for his #One2Eleven.

Any particular reason why Alexis is a more popular captain pick than Costa?

Also, how would Giroud starting affect Sanchez points potential?

Gets more points for a goal and will probably get baps.

      Think it helps him massively

Giroud gets his critics but one of the best at holding up for team mates & selfless runs off the ball

Look at many goals the arsenal mids get with him
About Ramsey , theo , carzola etc

I think it's the lure of bonus points that swing it for many. I think Giroud slightly helps - as he will score Sanchez's rebounds. Welbeck would either let them simply hit him or do an elaborate dance to avoid it.

If they get a goal each Costa might only get 6 points while Alexis will more than likely get 9 or 10

Tadic and Moore -> Oscar and Naylor worth a 4 pt hit? I have 2.0 ITB to fund this

not usually a fan of taking hits but my defence is in tatters for this week - Duff and Baines mightn't play, Wisdom is up against Arsenal and Moore no longer starts, leaving me with just Ivanovic for points.
And Tadic to Oscar looks like a move that could reap rewards given Oscars form and Saints difficult fixtures. Thoughts appreciated

    Yay or nay?

Need to downgrade Moore in order to afford Bony. Not too bothered with the hit as it allows me to get rid of Moore and have a secure starter instead ahead of the busy Christmas schedule.

@donthespecialone/colonelshoe pages moving too fast for me to possibly find where our exchange was so i cant check which it was, just know its the levis advert puppet from the nineties

What i meant was; i havent been on this site since the international break, during which the pages moved slowly and an excellent combination of analysis and chit chat was achieved, alan partridge wouldve been proud (assuming he plays). This is in great contrast to today, which is fkn shit in comparison.

Then i made a joke about how youll have to reply a couple of pages in the future in order for me to see it (harking back to my earlier stated view that, in my opinion, there are too many comments) and referenced the common '@jk' or '@isacki' or '@ronh' format of aiming new posts at specific people on here.

It was whilst i tried to remember if isacki is isacki or issacki that i realised you were like 'what?!' or whatever because i was replying to your comment and talking about something else. I dunno why i did that, it made sense to me at the time, im tired and have been drinking. I hope you are well, especially if i mean don, and i dont rate bony as a pick

Getting one of those IPhone 4S things for my lad tomorrow. I can't believe how cheap they are compared to when they were the top phone two years ago...So some advice gents, is there anything about them that I need to know ?...will the service remain as it has been despite the IPhone 5 and IPhone 6...Sorry if that sounds a stupid question but I am stupid when it comes to tech...I really am...

What do you mean by service? Software upgrades etc?

It'll be fine. People are still using iPhone 3s.

Nice. I was just a bit worried about walking into a minefield. Sounds like it's just a good buy though. I didn't even like the 5s and 6s when I looked. just too big for putting in your pocket...

I still have the 4S, and its been pretty faithful for over two years. However, try to avoid getting the latest operating system (the ones made for iphone 5 and later) installed as they slow down the iphone 4s immeasurably, so annoying!

btw, i'm only talking about the OS's that were introduced in the last 2-3 months. Before the latest download the updates were fine

Good thing about the older iPhones is Apple won't let them update after a while at least. They are still good to go though.

    Which one?

    1) Downing>Hazard and Baines>Taylor (-8) - Want Hazard for the long-term
    2) Moore>Azpilicueta (-4) - Strong bench to cover Downing/Baines
    3) Clyne>Ivanovic (-4) - Might as well do it now, if ever
    4) None. Ride it out with Wisdom as your first sub if Downing/Baines don't play.
