[sbu_large_image] Suspensions

A 2-0 win over QPR handed Swansea a sixth clean sheet of the season but Tuesday evening’s triumph came at a cost for Garry Monk’s side as ever-present Neil Taylor toppled off the Suspension Tightrope. After earning his fifth caution of the campaign, the left-back is one of four players who are set to serve a one-match ban this weekend as he sits on the sidelines for the Welsh club’s trip to West Ham.

Chelsea are once again deprived of a first-team regular due to suspension ahead of Saturday lunchtime’s trip to Newcastle. This time round Jose Mourinho needs to make do without Nemanja Matic after the midfield enforcer earned a fifth yellow in last night’s home win over Tottenham.

Andi Weimann and Wes Morgan will both miss Villa’s home clash against Leicester. The former earned his fifth yellow in midweek, while the latter received his marching orders against Liverpool. Morgan’s absence offering Liam Moore the chances of a rare start for the visitors but, up against Christian Benteke, he may well struggle to bring in the points as Nigel Pearson’s side attempt to improve upon a run of one clean sheet in ten Gameweeks.

Taking stock of the Tightrope after the midweek matches, we now have 22 players sitting just one caution away from a ban. Essentially, one more yellow card in the next five Gameweeks (until the extension kicks in on January 1) for any of them will trigger an automatic one-match suspension. From a Fantasy perspective, Chelsea playmaker Cesc Fabregas (sitting in 51% of sides) is the most high profile, though owners of the likes of Graziano Pelle, Vincent Kompany, Morgan Schneiderlin, Daryl Janmaat and Ryan Shawcross also have cause for concern.

Stoke, Southampton and Hull are most affected here – each of those sides have a trio of players teetering on the Tightrope as we head towards Gameweek 15.

As Fantasy managers are more than aware, Diego Costa is back for Chelsea after sitting out last night’s clash against Spurs. There’s no doubt his disciplinary record on the road is a worry, though – having been booked in all five away appearances, he’ll need to curb his enthusiasm for fear of facing another suspension later in the season.

Newcastle welcome back a couple of midfielders for the visit of Jose Mourinho’s side, with Jack Colback and Moussa Sissoko looking set to return to first-team duties. City’s defensive worries also ease a little as Everton roll up to the Etihad. With Vincent Kompany expected to remain on the sidelines, Eliaquim Mangala is available once again, after sitting out Wednesday’s trip to Sunderland.

Finally, Gaston Ramirez and Claudio Yacob will serve the last of three-match bans this weekend as Hull welcome West Brom to the KC.

Who is more essential, Costa or Hazard? If I get Costa I'll keep Fab.

In first few weeks,i used to comment in this site and get good suggestion. For first 5-6 weeks,my ranking was around 5k in the world. But later,i stopped visiting this site, drop to 150k right now 🙁

My team for GW 15 is

    Begovic
    Azpi..Chambers...Baines
    Ramsey...Mirallas..Hazard...Boyd ...SIggy
    Rooney ...Aguero

    Bench:Wilson...Wasilewski...Duff

Should i drop baines for this week? I have already made the transfer. My gut feeling is to captain Hazard this week? Can i get 60 points with my team in gw 15 🙁

dont captain Hazard, his performances away from home are rarely stellar
Hold Ramsey, its just taking him longer than expected to get up to speed, might explide yet
Dont transfer out Baines, you will need him

really don't think Baines fixtures are very conducive to defensive returns... is now the time to get rid? i don't believe he can keep up his rate of scoring and assisting. Could be the right time to dump for chelsea defs

he COULD keep it up, im just not convinced he will continue to get a goal/assist every game, particularly through some tough fixtures over the next ten. 7.3m is a lot of money and selling him would allow me to double up on chelsea defenders if i wanted

has chelseas defence been particularly tight?
will mourinho rotate a little over christmas?
          will evertons general form improve?
what other premium defensive options offer as much as baines?
what would you do with the money saved if you downgraded?

these are the questions u need to be asking regarding this issue

          1. Flycroft
            • 15 Years
            11 years, 4 months ago

chelsea are tightening up now and i think they will have a lot of 1-0, 2-0 wins over the busy winter period. yes he will rotate but i think he's shown that he likes to stick with the current back 4 when available.

who knows about everton they have been erratic all season.

no other premium option offers what baines does but that doesn't mean he is going to score well during this period.

double up on chelsea def most likely.

at the end of the day the most important question is is he going to score well over the next ten, and personally im not convinced he will. all good points though, thanks for discussing

      theres nothing wrong with it
hedges your bets on who out of Kane and Austin will prove better value - its between the 2 for the budget striker of choice, surely BOTH cant fail?

All I will say is be wary of Kane's gametime over the heavy Christmas schedule.

    Whats everyone doing with Chadli?

I'm confused to why hes not playing considering how well he'd been doing.

Will probably bench him this week and hope he starts, then reassess. I don't think he has been dropped, just being eased back in after injury imo.

Tough one, Debuchy is back in training but will be 2-3 weeks away from a start. Given fixture pile up over festive period he wont be playing all games. On that basis would say sell Clyne, keep Chambers until Jan WC.

I have £3.5m in the bank and not sure what to do with it really.

Happy with my front 8. It's tempting to do Clyne -> Chelsea defender but then I'm concerned about not having enough to do Bony-->Costa should it be needed in a week or two.

That hit could easily pay for itself with bonus,
I prob would esp with Naylors ban/Swans fixtures.

haha yeah i noticed that I got very lucky!
If I am honest I am more annoyed about the previous gameweek where I got 43 and failed to qualify for the PP cup by a point...
I suppose the luck leveled out. 🙂
