In light of Sergio Aguero’s knee injury, we delve into the data to highlight a number of forwards’ weekend displays. Wilfried Bony and Robin van Persie’s fine form arrives under the spotlight, whilst we also assess Diego Costa’s recent toils for Chelsea. The Gunners’ weekend scorers and Tottenham’s in-form Dane are also amongst this evening’s topics as Fantasy managers look to spend that left over budget from the Aguero fall-out.
Sterling needs lessons from Cazorla on how to finish at an angle
http://gfycat.com/DelectableWelllitBronco
Should probably just visit the Arsenal training grounds for a week or so.too risky might gt injured
He's just not a natural finisher, great talent but needs to be played in the right position.
Hes a Robin not a batman - needs to play off guy like Suarez
Adam West's Robin?
Or George Clooney's?Nonsense. Van Persie is a great finisher 😆
What should I do?
Foster
Clyne Azpi Baines
Downing Sanchez Siggy YYT (C)
Costa (vc) Rooney Austin
Guzan Boyd Wisdom Dummet
1FT 0.9 ITB
Rooney + Siggy > Bony + Eriksen
Rooney > Giroud
Leave it?I just decided to go Clichy< Azpi Clyne
and got rid of AzpiStrikers look good
Go for
Clyne - Clichy
Azpi - Ivanovic or TerryWhy? Wasn't azpi just rested and isn't Clichy gonna be rotated with kolarov
Clichy looks locked in. Kolo is more left wing
Azpi is prone to rotation and not lockedClyne > Clichy could be on the cards. Cheers.
Uh what? Clichy and kolarov rotate
Clichy has played 90 since start of November.
Kolarov has been injured
best use of Ft pls: cheers in advance!
1.FT sigur>eriksen (BUR)
2.FT chambo>demichelis (CRY)
*IF option 1, which one of these i'd have to bench so that i play eriksen BUR:
sanchez liv - haz stk - downing LEI - yaya CRY2
F are: dcosta stk - sakho LEI - austin WBA
Is it time to ditch the sig?
See my reasons below
I ask you this, why keep him?
I'll wait a week for him, will need to start the thank-you-letter in advance
After so many heartfelt moments together, it feels criminal to take him it for a hit
I ain't no Soprano*out
Baines and Costa -> Demichelis and RVP
What do we think?free?
Yea
Costs yes but why get rid of baines ?
To afford the other transfer
2FT and if you have Hazard. Yup.
Not for me.
Guys looking to pull the trigger on for a -4
Siggy to Eriksen
Dzeko to Bony
Reasons
Siggy next three out of four games area away
Spurs have burnley and Leicester next
Still pick swans pojnts through BonyUnited & Chelsea after though for spurs.
Both of these at home
Still
Spurs wont get nothing
eriksen
I'd pull the trigger on Dzeko this week only,
Siggy could come next week if you insist on taking him out IMO.
I wouldn't be too desperate to take him out so soon though
Any ideas? 5.2 in the kitty 🙂
Guzan - Krul
Azpi - Clyne - Wisdom - Naylor - Moore
Fab - Alexis - Downing - Siggy - Marney
Austin - Costa - Bony
Siggy > Erisksen maybe?Siggy - Eriksen
Costa - RvpRVP? Really?
Maybe. But Gylfi got Hull..
I would use this week to upgrade Moore
i'd worry about defense whole team needs MC player(s). IMO GL
Can anyone give me a lowdown on how Silva did yesterday?
Did he look fully fit? Did he look like producing any assists/goals?Not fully fit but did ok
Right dilemma time. Thought I was all set on a City def this week for Chambers but I can do Marney-Eriksen before the price change tonight which would leave me .4 to do Clyne to Demi next gameweek if I go the Eriksen route then would have to be done tonight. What should I do? Eriksen or City def this week?
Guzan Elliot
Baines Clyne Azpi Chambers Dummett
Haz Sanchez Downing Siggy Marney
Costa Austin Bony
Really like some help on this one if poss.Eriksen imp
I'm looking at similar issue (have exact cash to do Siggy and Chambers > Eriksen and Demi). My instinct is to lock in the Eriksen transfer first.
I guess a City clean sheet is probably a solid 6 where as Eriksen has a higher ceiling for scoring points and possibly double figures
Yep, and a clean sheet can always get wiped out in a flash even if City dominate as expected. Maybe think of it like a benching dilemma - if you had both players and had to bench one, which it would it be? (I generally play the attacker)
My worry is a benching headache though with Marney at least he is always benched and therefore Im not benching the wrong player, with a strong 5 in mid it's quite possible that you will be benching the wrong player each week. Tricky decision this one.
Sorry just seen this - yep I know just what you mean, and I usually avoid benching headaches for just that reason, but I reckon the holiday period could be ideal time to have strong bench, given the surprises that could be thrown up by some of the festive lineups. Anyway good luck mate.
Eriksen now IMO.
Boyd & Costa > Lampard & RVP
for -4?
(fancy lamps in the next two or three games to nick at least a couple of goals)Why ship Costa?
RVP looks much better at the moment
Costa gets no baps and is a card magnet
if he's on the pitch.
a) Clyde--->Cahill
b) SaveA
Defo sell Clyde. He's no good.
🙂
Thx both
just saw the Downing goal. Ridiculous stuff. Still, ADM picked me up lots of cheeky points when I had him, so I don;t resent it too much
Good old Downing
i missed it ... what do u mean ridiculous
Downing set for 0.2 or 0.3 rise with Leicester on the horizon
probly 0.2
Let's hope he maintains the standard with some away goals at the bridge 😉
Which transfer would you rather do?
A) Siggy ➡ Erkisen
B) Cameron ➡ DemiA
Siggy has the worst team in the league though, Wouldn't it just be a sideways transfer?
Have you seen sights away form and next couple of fixtures ?
But it's Hull. He has just been unlucky.
a Cameron is a nice cheap OOP.
I have had him for a long time now. He doesn't produce, he isn't even nailed and is covering Whelan and Sidwell's injury.
B if your defence is as bad as mine
I understand the criticism of Rodgers (anyone who knows me will know that I have been critical of certain aspects of his management) however Pool did create some great chances today. It is not Rodgers' fault that both Sterling and Balo should have done better (Sterling certainly, Balo had a great effort though I recall one or two others that could have been taken a bit better). Defensively it was still a disaster and Rodgers is culpable for that but really there was some improvement in certain aspects.
I agree to a point
Liverpool need a strikerThis is very true.
I thought Balo looked much better. Not worth signing, but much better all the same. Against a poorer shot stopper he could have scored today
Improved, my concern is it could have been only the occasion and not an actual up turn in form.
Brendan's problems
1. Bought too many players.
2. Too much faith in Mignolet, Lovren, Ballotelli, Allen and Johnson
3. Constant changing personnel and tactics.
4. Sturridge injured.
5. Remaining three strikers poor.
6. Can, Markovic and Lalaana need to playIf they had some decent strikers today they might have beaten united..
....er 7. not having Suarez and Sturridge?
I am not sure on Markovic myself to be very honest. The CL game was the first I was impressed with him and he went and got sent off.
I'm baffled Sakho isn't starting.
Likewise with Emre Can.Totally agree there mate. Sakho is wayyyy better than Lovren
Won't see me arguing there. Though Sakho seems to lack confidence as well, Kolo the only one capable of organising a back line at the moment it appears. Needs to ring up and beg Agger to return imo.
Sakho is injured
He has used money on plenty of flops though: Aspas, Allen, Borini, Lovren, Lambert, Balotelli, Mignolet, Lallana.. The list goes on
Not him alone I might add, there is a board including him that decide on transfers. Blame must be shared.
Agreed.
But you have touched on something I frequently give out about, the spending policy has been very hit or miss.
I don't understand how Pool thought they could replace Suarez with Lambert and Balotelli. Soo different type of players. Suarez always working hard and taking runs whilst Lambert and Balo are very stagnant. Does not fit at all in the philosophy BR had last season with sturr and suarez.
Lallana hasn't flopped, he's barely played. There was an article that 2/23 LFC signings since BR arrived have been successful including loans (Sturridge and Couts)
Still he has not exactly worked out to be a good transfer.
No continuity in selection/tactics.
Sterling is not a striker, nor is he a right wing back.
Go back to the diamond/433 that was successful last season and stick with it.He has a lot of faults I agree, I am just pointing out that today they indeed were much more creative which is a positive to note.
I was a big fan last season, not sure why he's trying to be so clever with it this season.
I'd also like to see Borini given a chance but doesn't seem likely. He has always been too clever for his own good at times. Tries things that aren't needed, seems to be trying to solve problems that aren't there while ignoring those that are.
This is one of his biggest failings, when he falls out with a player that seems to be the end of that player at Pool. Borini is done it seems.
To an extent it's Rodgers fault if Sterling is missing chances when playing as a striker, which he isn't.
Obviously you expect Sterling to be able to finish, he is a very attacking player, but it is a different skill set. Playing someone OOP who doesn't do the job has to reflect on the manager.Huge rumours that the owners have been looking at a manager with Benitiz, Klopp and Simeone on shortlist.
Sacking him won't solve anything
Totally agree but if this continues for another 12-18 months he is going to go...
I hear he will see out the season. Need a quick creative scoring striker and GK in Jan though.
would put my money on klopp, reus might come then too
Aye, thought it was a terrible decision myself. But if it had paid off (and we may as well be honest, Sterling's finishing is much better than what he showed today) he would have been hailed. Sterling is no striker at all, that was BR's fault but I can't blame him for Sterling missing some lovely opportunities.
Allen > Can
Back 4 need to stay put (Manquillo Skrtel Toure Moreno)Good shout Kiwi pool mate.
He also needs to stop splitting the centre backs when his keeper is a poor distributorExactly. The man coming through the middle of the CB's from MF is being man marked out of the game. eg. Agbonlahor (sp?) for Villa at Anfield. Just get in the opp half FFS
Aye, consistency is a big must.
Instead of spending $ on another CB (Vertoghen rumoured), spend a fraction of that on a defensive coach. Won't happen, but one can dream.
Rooney ➡ RVP for free and give him the armband?
Rooney playing in the midfield has got me a bit worried. 😕I just done it for a hit for same reason.
That and RVP more captainable
Yaya to :
A. Nasri
B. Silva
C. Just keep?
Would be -4 for any but would obviously open loads of funds.C
C
C
Honestly surprising responses but maybe the sense I needed. Thanks
C
Pretty stupid time to get rid of him
Just trying to move to another player in the same team with more attacking potential.
Wally back this week? 😕
Don't think so, prob looking at January
Is that a typo ? Did you mean this * year
Guzan 4.0
Hutton Wisdom Baines Yun Bartley
Fab Sanchez Siggy Boyd Hazard
RvP(C) Costa Kane(VC)
With no pressing matters would you do
Siggy > Downing or save the FTDo it imo
Cheers, I might just
Siggy to Eriksen
Only 0.2 ITB, not enough
Save.
I'd advice to play it safe with so many away fixtures for the popular teams next week.
Rather opt for caution for the probable low-scoring GW's
Keep in mind, Downing has (che) & (ars) in the next threeCheers, good advice
Jonathan Walters is being very overlooked.
Too many options in midfield
True.. other more attractive options I guess
and for good reason 🙂
Goal/assist almost every time he's started.
can't score a pen nowadays
He's on my radar but I'm already 3-5-2 and I really wouldn't replace any of my mids with him (Downing, Siggy, Hazard, Sanchez, Yaya). If I did move one, he's probably third or fourth on my list.
Can't risk losing points when Stoke get a pen.
He'll be my fifth mid next week for certain...
Can't forget the two missed penalties and the own goal. Not that I owned him in that game, but still 🙂
I brought him in for that one. 😯
Bartley; wasnt fede fernandes suposed to come bak today? thus bartley bak to bench or has bartley nailed his startng CB spot??
I think he's good for another game or two but after that I think it's back to the bench
whats odd is fndez was not in bench today. maybe will take longer? having said that, whats best 4.5 Def or under price/reward: hutton, wisdom, oshea, dumett, yun
O'Shea or Wisdom
Are people assuming Mata's spot is in trouble with Di Maria probably back next week?
At 8.5 he looks like great United cover otherwise.Yea, as soon as Maria is back Rooney back in the hole and Mata back the bench unfortunately
I am
think louis will find a way to play him... looks like he is hitting form at the right time.
I have 4.1 mill in the bank..what do you do???
Foster (McCarthy)
Baines Azpi Naylor (Wisdom) (moore)
Hazard Sanchez Siggy Downing (Boyd)
Costa Bony Austin
A- Naylor - Demichelis/Mangala
B- Naylor - MUFC defender
C- Siggy to Yaya
D- Siggy to Eriksen
E- somethign elseD
A with Demi
Ben Davies anyone? Value at 4.4 mil, started the last few, a couple of decent fixtures coming up.
I just picked him up this week as an after thought. Looking good for next week too.
+1. Thinking of shipping Naylor out for him.
Watch Spurs' attempts at trying to defend today and think again.
True, but he has a bit of threat about him as well. Def pick are tough this season and at 4.4, he'll enable you to make better picks elsewhere.
I heard they were dreadful but Naylor and his attraction to YCs is irritating.
Had a great game today and will start next week IMO. Too much doubt long term though. Rose a top player too.
He's started the last 5 and Rose is fit. Looks to have it nailed at present.
Rooney, Dzeko -> RVP, Austin (-4)
Done.
Good move right?just woulda Deko> Austin
Yep, RvP capt this weekend?
Yep. That was the clincher.
Thinking Austin for VC over Hazard.
Am I nuts? Good home form player.
Boyd & Siggy -> Downing & Eriksen ?
Form & Fixtures for both and Still get points via Bony.
Just bench decision to make for 3-5-2 or 3-4-3.
Team now
Sanchez - Yaya - Hazard - Siggy - Boyd
Costa - Bony - Kanedefinetly if no hit or maybe just one otherwise who do you bench up top?
One hit, it is. Kane probably take the bench role, but not sure yet.
Aluko nailed on for Hull? They are dreadful of course but their fixtures suggest he may be involved in some returns.
Hull have scored 2 goals in the last 7 games. No thanks.
You looking to do the least glamourous transfer of the week? 😀
he he, draft side pick. My midfield is pretty dire.
Not nailed
1FT, 0.1m in the bank... Any ideas with the FT? Should I save? No idea this week!...
Pantilimon - Hamer
Baines - Clichy - Hutton - Wisdom - Yun
Sanchez - Yaya Toure - Hazard - Sigurdsson - Boyd
Costa - Bony - SakhoSave, a nice side. A few Q's over Sakho though I'm afraid.
Any thoughts on what to do with this squad?
Guzan
Baines - Azpi - Yun
Downing - Sanchez - Hazard - Siggy
Austin - Costa - Bony
(Chambers, Clyne, Boyd) 1 FT , 4.3 ITBSo far a small green arrow up 126 places to 6666. All after a -12 🙂
Baines left to play, can I keep it green?
